A tour with Sunway Safaris is an amazing adventure
Even if I wanted to, I could not find anything negative to write about my tour with Sunway Safaris. For me, it was the trip of a lifetime. I got to know some amazing new places, learn about different cultures and connect with the other people on my trip. Being on a camping trip, I felt very connected to the nature around me and that I was able to explore the country in a closer way. It truly was an adventure with lots of breathtaking landscapes, fun trips, interesting animals and so much more. My guides, who were very professional and knowledgeable but also lots of fun, played a big part in making the trip such an amazing experience. They worked very hard to help us whenever needed and to bring us safely from one place to the next. The size of the group I travelled with was perfect. If we had been any more, I don’t think I would’ve been able to make such strong connections to my group members. I also felt like I got all my moneys worth on the trip. Considering the amount of food we got provided with, the included national park entrance fees, the included activities and the amount of driving we did, I would say the price of the trip was absolutely fair. Booking the trip was very simple and I always got fast and helpful answers to my questions.
I can definitely recommend booking a trip with Sunway Safaris. I am left with some incredible memories and can’t wait for my next trip with them.

A well-run, reasonably priced and reliable tour operator
We took the accommodated Zimbabwe and Botswana "Game Tracker" tour with Sunway Safaris last month and were very pleased with the experience. Everything was extremely well organized. The days were long, but a free day at Victoria Falls in the middle of the tour allowed some respite. Our guides, Alois and Jonas, were efficient, well trained, intelligent, gracious, pleasant, and knowledgeable about the countries we visited and their wildlife. Jonas, who was the driver, did a wonderful job of navigating difficult roads over thousands of miles. In those places where we did not have a local guide (these were also good), Alois provided detailed explanations about what we saw.
Overnight accommodations were varied but always comfortable, most frequently in the form of large permanent tents/cabins with bathroom. Often the guides cooked for us, and helping with the dishes etc. created camaraderie among the tourists.
If you plan to take this tour, be aware that it involves very long drives over roads that are often potholed and sometimes unpaved. Our truck (the "Red Elephant") was reasonably comfortable but could be very bouncy in the back seats---luckily there were nine of us in a vehicle that seats twelve, so only one had to sit in back, and we took turns. Moreover, the air conditioning was not really adequate on sunny days, even though it was winter. That said, it is well worth while traveling overland to get some understanding of the geography (natural and human) of the countries visited.
We saw many different animals as well as other sights, were charmed by the local people, learned a great deal, and were well taken care of. We can recommend Sunways as an experienced and reliable tour operator.

A professional and well run organization
I did the Zimbabwe and Botswana Game Tracker in May-June 2025, with 11 other travelers. Our transportation was a Sprinter mini bus.
We were a very diverse group with the youngest being 22 and oldest (me) 71, coming from 5 different countries. The group dynamic was fantastic. I found Sunway Safaris to be a very professional company and everything ran like a well oiled machine. The food was wholesome varied and plentiful, prepared by our 2 multifunctional guides. There was always a full crate of fruit availabe in the bus, to sweeten the long hours of travel. Expect some long days of travel, through very bad and potholed roads, (in my opinion worth it for the amount of game we saw). Our guide and driver, Cloud was an excellent driver and didn't hit a pothole once. The accommodations were at best, very good and at worst adequate and clean. The itinerary was varied with cultural, botanical and geographical aspects also covered. Sunway can' t guarantee how many or which animals we would see, but we seemed to be very lucky and got to see all the five plus cheetah. I would like to compliment our guides Ayibongwe (Ay) and Cloud, for being cool and collected in all situations, passionate about their jobs, the animals and local folklore, and could also cook well. Thanks to you both, we couldn't have asked for better guides.
I would definitely recommend this tour.
Adventure!
Brilliant!!!! Would recommend to anyone. Best adventure I have been on in my life :)
Zimbabwe and Botswana Game Tracker was excellent
We recently completed the Zimbabwe and Botswana Game Tracker Safari with Sunway Safaris and it was excellent.
The guides, Shandele and Dickson were hard working, efficient, had excellent English and were great cooks. Most importantly, they each had a wonderful sense of humour and were kind and generous. We called them “The Two Smiling Faces of Africa”.
The food was healthy, delicious and plentiful both on the road and at our accommodation.
The accommodation was much better than we expected and each place had something special going for it.
The Red Elephant was as comfortable as it could be considering some of the rough roads that we travelled on. There was plenty of leg room and large windows.
The tour was well organised in terms of the variety of places we travelled to. We saw many, many animals as well as a variety of beautiful landscapes including many natural features.
The tour was very well priced considering the inclusions such as entrance fees. We booked directly with Sunway. The communication was prompt and Grace was very friendly and able to answer all our questions.
We wouldn’t hesitate to travel with Sunway again.
