They put together an amazing holiday for us, no complaints at all.
5/5

This was a high end safari experience and it was amazing.
Kojuu, with Judy at the helm planned the route and stops so we saw a range of different landscapes and their inhabitants, starting at beautiful Tarengire, with elephants galore... then on to Lake Manyara in a stunning lush forest, then a lengthy drive to the Serengeti with the most varied game in the central area, culminating in the Western Serengeti where huge numbers of wildebeest were gathering and starting to migrate Northwards..We loved every park and would not have skipped any of them. Only regret was not having more time in Tarengire and Serengeti. It was tiring moving so much but Judy ensured we had 2 nights stay in both lodges in the Serengeti which allowed a recharge - and some laundry ( very efficient, back the same day beautifully folded and smelling great!)
We had the same driver/ guide throughout, Justin, who was excellent at spotting and identifying animals and birds as well as navigating the parks and some challenging driving conditions on some of the tracks. He was also great company, we all had fun together and by the end of our stay we saw him as our friend.
Our accomodation was without exception, excellent, including the initial overnight in Arusha at Gran Melia hotel, but highlights were Tarengire elephant Springs, and Lahia tented lodge which had an incredible location on top of a hill with panoramic views of Western Serengeti dotted with wildebeest.... We would definitely choose to stay an additional night here if we came again.
After our safari we were returned to Arusha and flew to Zanzibar for 3 nights to have some relaxation time. We would highly recommend the Mnarani Marine Turtles Conservation Pond where we paddled with and fed the recuperating green turtles there.
However we would not recommend trying to swim with dolphins- far too busy, seemingly unpoliced to protect both the dolphins and the tourists. We asked to leave.
We would also advise anyone considering a beach stay at Zanzibar that the beaches have sadly been very eroded and there was just a sliver of sand really at our resort hotel, Nungwi Dreams ... Maybe other areas are better?....Although we still managed to swim in the turkoise sea there and there was plenty of relaxation space by the 2 swimming pools.
The kojuu team and those on the ground meeting us at airports and taking us out on tours were always where they said they would be. No matter that our flight to Zanzibar was 2 hours late, or we wanted to change the time of our Stonetown tour, we were greeted with smiling faces and told that it was entirely up to us. Justin always gave us a choice on the game drives where possible - whether we wanted an all day drive or early start then some downtime before an evening drive. And he would ask what we wanted to try and see and do his best to accomplish that. He knew what could be found in different regions of the various parks we visited and we did see the Big 5, and a whole lot more. A very early start at Ngorogoro crater was definitely worth it - much quieter and we did get to see 2 rhino which had disappeared by mid morning. Not to mention the lioness sat on the roadside on the way in...and the beautiful morning light.
On " cheetah day " in the Serengeti, we saw 8 cheetahs! Last sighting was a mum supervising a training opportunity with her largely grown offspring chasing a Thomson's gazelle right in front of us..
And a leopard pair tucking into their kill and napping in a tree together.
On " lion day" as requested, Justin came up with a very close encounter with a huge male and his 2 lionesses... And later on the same day another similar encounter with a larger group as we neared Lahia in the lovely evening light.
Although there were times when there would be a queue of cars around a sighting ( as with the leopards) Justin would give us as much time as we wanted so we often remained when everyone else had left. And he was great at heading to quieter areas of the parks so we were entirely on our own with those lions, and with a group of amorous elephants at Manyara..( it was the breeding season..) and with only 1 other car for the cheetahs. We also shared a strong interest in bird spotting and with Justin's " eagle" eyes identified around 65 different species in total!
Service everywhere was outstanding. The people of Tanzania were bright, cheerful and accommodating, always doing their best to ensure we were enjoying our experience whether they were serving us dinner or escorting us safely to our lodge after dark. We had several singing greetings either on arrival or departure and an unexpected anniversary serenade and cake at The Lions Paw lodge in Ngorogoro...
All in all a wonderful and stress- free holiday, very well planned and managed by the Kojuu safari team. We would definitely go with them again if we return- and we really hope we will. We loved Tanzania and it's people.

The best possible operator to find big cats
5/5

Harun went above and beyond to give us the best possible safari experience, each and every day. We saw all the big cats, including a number of leopards and saw multiple wildebeest crossings. Our trip through multiple parks was beyond our expectations thanks to the network Harun has established. A humble nad hard working operator that will not dissappoint

A luxury safari filled with heart, surprises, and unforgettable moments
5/5

From start to finish, this safari with Kojuu Safaris Africa was beyond anything we imagined, a truly VIP journey filled with unforgettable moments and incredible care.

First, a heartfelt thank you to Judith, a truly remarkable woman. Her kindness, attention to detail, and warm personality made us feel so special every single day. She went above and beyond to ensure our experience was seamless, joyful, and full of surprises. Her presence made all the difference, and we’ll never forget her.

And then Justin, our fantastic guide, so knowledgeable, calm, and passionate. Thanks to his expertise and by the grace of God, we had the incredible chance to see the Big Five. Every drive with him was a lesson in nature and a moment of pure awe.

Kojuu also surprised us with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, a gesture I will cherish forever. And our first night at Lemala, they organized a surprise celebration for our wedding anniversary, a moment so touching it brought tears of joy to my eyes.
Kojuu Safaris is more than just a tour operator, it’s a team that puts heart and soul into creating once-in-a-lifetime memories. We recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a truly luxurious and emotional safari experience.

Service and experience was 10/10

It is important to have a driver who knows the area well, especially in the Serengeti. We had our drives through Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. Tarangire and Ngorongoro Crater are like large conservation lands / drive-through zoo where you are bound to see animals every 5 metres. It is a must see (eg we only saw rhinos in Ngorongoro Crater). We also saw the most elephants that quite literally grazed our vehicles, they were that close. Serengeti is a must see - this is what you would imagine a safari to be like. You may not see any animals for an hour because of how large the Serengeti is (or animals to get excited by). That’s why it is important to have a driver that knows the lay of the land. We highly recommend Peter. He is very experienced and we were always one of the first 3 cars to get to see a cool animal (eg leopard). It’s great to be one of the first to see the cool animals before all the other vehicles come.

We think 4 days is more than enough as it can be very tiring in the vehicle (we were driving all day). It’s actually amazing how Peter could drive the whole day but be so alert for any animals out there. This was really needed as we would sometimes find ourselves falling asleep in the car (the gravel roads / “African massage” really puts you to sleep).

The vehicle was really comfortable, felt safe, was always clean, always had cold drinks and snacks, the lunch prepared by Kojuu on the first day was *chef’s kiss*. Every other lunch was prepared by the hotel/lodge you stay with just FYI. Pete also knew some of the good places to get other more traditional food which we tried (we were scared) but so glad we did because the food was amazing! A little better than the lunches that our hotels packed.

We unfortunately caught the cold on the last day and we needed medicine. Pete was able to find the medicine we needed for non tourist prices.

Again, please try and get Pete! The service was unmatched. Couldn’t have had a better trip.

Judith was amazing!

Judith was great with communication and went above and beyond to help us on our tour.
Harun was an amazing guide. He found us all the animals we wanted to see especially the leopard. He was so patient with our questions.
