Extremely helpful and detailed oriented.

Planning our first safari trip was overwhelming at first but we are so grateful to have found Tales of Tanzania and specifically Pendo. She was knowledgeable, extremely responsive and detailed oriented. We felt at ease with her planning every detail and going above and beyond to make our honeymoon dream trip exceptional. She worked with our budget, was flexible to make updates for our must haves and things that we definitely wanted to see and we were even able to upgrade our lodging to make our trip even more special. We started or trip with a guided day hike in Kilimanjaro and our guide, Bryceson was friendly and ensured we were comfortable with the pace while still being able to complete the hike. We felt so accomplished to complete the hike to Mandara hut! We then went on to our Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater multi-days safari and from the first day when we met our private guide Terry, we were blown away with his knowledge and expertise. We were very comfortable with the vehicle which we had all to ourselves and especially to get his undivided attention. We ended our first day with a Mara River crossing and couldn’t believe that we were able to catch this spectacular experience all thanks to Terry. We couldn’t imagine how it could get better but everyday was another amazing day! To end our trip we got to quickly meet with Pendo, the woman who patiently worked with us to plan our dream trip and she surprised us with souvenirs as a gift for our honeymoon and a small piece of Tanzania to take with us. Overall we highly recommend Tales of Tanzania as we feel that the communication, service, value for money, reliability and the tour itself was truly better than anything we could’ve wished for. Wish all companies can be like this.

I spent a week on safari in Tanzania and 2.5 days in Zanzibar. Everything was perfectly organized and went off without a hitch. This allowed me to relax and focus entirely on the animals and landscape. My guide, Charles, showed me all the animals and provided me with lots of interesting facts about everything that piqued my interest.
Planning the trip was straightforward, and communication remained very friendly, efficient, and prompt throughout the journey.
I would definitely book with Tales of Tanzania again—not just because of the great value for money, but because of the entire experience.

We really liked working with this company very much; the staff was attentive and wanted to fit in all that we wanted to see in the time we had, including suggestions for more sightseeing in areas we were not familiar with. We had never-to-be forgotten experiences with the Chimp and Gorilla trekking in Uganda, all the animals we encountered in the Serengeti in Tanzania, and the beautiful culture and beauty of Morocco. Pendo was always making sure we were taken care of throughout the trip, and we can't thank the guides and drivers enough who made sure we saw all that we could in these 3 countries..

That said, we would like to highlight the most amazing guides and drivers we had the pleasure of traveling with! They were easy to communicate with:

Uganda: Shamim (wonderful driver and guide!)
Ronnie (Swamp guide, monkey & chimp trekking)
Emmanuel Mpatswe (gorilla trekking)

Tanzania: DISMAS Mally!! He was GREAT!! Among other sightings, he got us to see the crossing of the Wildebeests and Zebra in record
time, 2 days in a row! He was very knowledgeable and sensitive to what we wanted to see.

Morocco: Aissam Charach, our FANTASTIC guide all the way through the cities we visited, and our driver, Ismail, also FANTASTIC!
They were wonderful to work with. Both were so attentive!

We booked with Tales of Tanzania for our safari honeymoon and it did not disappoint. Pendo and her team were very responsive in the planning process and worked with us to create an itinerary. We must have gone through almost 10 different itineraries before it was finalized and each version was done promptly with kindness. The planning process could not have gone better.

When we met up with our driver, Dismas, we knew we were in good hands and had made a great decision! He was extremely knowledgable and was flexible to our needs and schedules. We didn't feel any pressure one way or another and similar to the planning process were presented with options and facts to make the best decision for what we wanted for our trip. We feel incredibly fortunate that we were able to see all of the big five and a river crossing in the north! Dismas' instinct was unmatched and we often went a different way from other companies and it always seemed to pay off with an incredible animal sighting.

Going with a smaller, local tour company provided us with greater customization both in planning and throughout our trip. In speaking with other guests at our camps, it was clear we had made the best choice!
