Once in a Lifetime

We are already planning our next trip - that is how unbelievably incredible it was. From getting off the plane we were taken care of by Philomena and Sam. They accommodated our every need and they were especially considerate and wonderful with our 14month old. Philomena, what a gem of a person. We needed help with visas last minute (our parent brain mush just let it slip) she sorted us out in less than 24hours. I landed and needed a hospital for our baby, she called around and found the right place that we needed to go. I had so much guilt about being difficult guests and she just smiled and put me at ease with her kind words! Her efforts for us on a Saturday in the middle of Niarobi, I was blown away and so grateful for her.

For me Kenya was a bucket list destination and man it didn’t disappoint - it was unforgettable and it was down to the people who made it happen. When you are in a car allll day, you really get to know the person guiding you. We got to know Sam and we adore him! His wealth of knowledge and his eagle eyes for spotting animals is incredible. His kindness, banter and ability to be comfortable in silence is our kind of company. He told us at the start of the trip that we would see lion everyday, coming from South Africa and visiting the Kruger my whole life I thought that this was optimistic but Sam was true to his word. Everyday we saw cats, multiple prides in a day. We were only there for 4 days and I saw more in that time than my entire life going to the Kruger - I was blown away. We saw absolutely everything and had magnificent moments where we were the only vehicle sitting with animals. When we return we will go with Sam again. He is truly the BEST! And if you have small children - this man looks out for them as if they are his own. He catered his driving to our little one, stopped whenever we needed too, soothed her when she cried and called her the strongest girl in the world. His patience with her was so endearing and I honestly was so grateful for it.

I could go on but the bottom line is we weren’t there for long enough and we cannot wait to go back. We left a piece of our hearts in Kenya and with all the people we met. Ashe Mara, ashe oleng!

I chose Rochar Africa Expeditions based purely on google searches and then following up and reading reviews. This is sometimes problematic as I didn't have a personal connection or referral. With that said, I can recommend this tour company with the utmost confidence. We were a family of 4 with two younger children (10 and 6 year old girls). The experience was amazing for everyone. My girls were extremely happy with the food, accommodations, jeep/driver and the most of all the sites.

Our agenda went through about 10 revisions until we settled in on the key things. Through that process, Phinorah was open and helpful to explain and deliver what we as a family were looking for.

Our recent safari with Rochar Africa Expeditions was absolutely unforgettable — a once-in-a-lifetime experience that exceeded every expectation. From planning to execution, the level of service, promptness, and reliability was nothing short of world-class.

The back-office team, especially Phinorah and Lenzer, were exceptional. Communication was fast, clear, and professional at every stage, and their attention to detail made the entire trip seamless and stress-free.

Our driver and guide, John, was outstanding. His deep wildlife knowledge, excellent driving skills, and calm professionalism made every game drive a pleasure. What truly set John apart was his honesty and integrity — you could trust his guidance completely. He also facilitated a meaningful and respectful visit to a Maasai village in the Maasai Mara, which added a powerful cultural dimension to the journey and became one of the trip’s highlights.

The accommodations were equally impressive. We enjoyed excellent stays at Ol Tukai Lodge, Sawela Lodge, Sarovar Lodge, and Ashnil Mara Lodge — each offering comfort, great service, and stunning locations that perfectly complemented the safari experience.

From incredible wildlife sightings to seamless logistics and unforgettable cultural moments, everything was handled with care and precision. Rochar Safari delivers on every promise and then goes beyond. I cannot recommend them highly enough to anyone looking for a truly exceptional African safari experience.

A great safari experience

Very happy with Rochar. Phinorah was very reliable and friendly. A well organised tour with all communication and any questions answered instantly, a big plus! Our safari jeep had a slight issue on the way to Amboselli, but another driver heading back to Nairobi took over and continued us on, there were no delays and everything ran smoothly. Both drivers were great! I highly recommend this tour company for a safe, well organised Safari. Thankyou Phinorah, John and Robert.

Safari Experience! My safari adventure was absolutely incredible from start to finish! Our guide Charles was knowledgeable, friendly, and truly passionate about the wildlife and the land. Every moment felt magical—from watching the sunset to spotting lions lounging under acacia trees. The accommodations were comfortable and beautifully blended with nature, and the meals were delicious.
This wasn’t just a trip—it was a once in a lifetime journey that left us with a deeper appreciation for Africa’s beauty and wildlife. I cannot recommend this safari enough to serenity, and unforgettable memories.
