A Great 2-Day Safari – Day 2 with Joel was the Highlight!
We booked a 2-day, 1-night safari to Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire National Park with Dallas Africa Safaris, and overall, it was a fantastic experience.
Day 1: Ngorongoro Crater
The logistics were handled perfectly. Our driver picked us up right on time from our Arusha hotel just after 5:00 AM. After about a 1-hour and 40-minute drive, we stopped at Twiga Campsite Lodge for breakfast before grouping up with four other tourists. We spent a solid chunk of the day (8:00 AM to 3:30 PM) down in the Crater and saw amazing wildlife, including lions, a rhino, and hyenas.
The safari vehicle was very comfortable and came equipped with a fridge stocked with cold drinks. The lunch exceeded my expectations—we had delicious roast chicken, vegetable curry, and rice. The only slight letdown was the guide. While he was okay, he was quite reserved and didn't explain much about the animals. We later found out he was a third-party guide and not originally from Dallas Africa Safaris.
Accommodation:
The hotel arranged for our overnight stay was brilliant. The food there was excellent—in fact, I had the absolute best dessert I’ve eaten so far in Tanzania at this hotel!
Day 2: Tarangire National Park
The second day was a massive step up, entirely thanks to our new guide, Joel, who is Dallas Africa Safaris' own in-house guide. We explored Tarangire from 10:00 AM to past 4:00 PM. Joel was incredibly enthusiastic and knowledgeable. He didn't just drive; he shared fascinating stories, pulled out his animal guidebook to teach us specific facts about the wildlife we were spotting, and even went out of his way to help us take some great photos.
Conclusion:
I highly recommend Dallas Africa Safaris for their great organization, vehicles, and food. However, I strongly suggest requesting one of their own in-house guides (like Joel!) to ensure you get the most engaging and educational safari experience possible.

Unforgettable
The guide Omar and the drivers Alex and John are very helpful. You have to book with Dallas. Tks for everything...
6-Day Safari with my son in May-2026
I picked Dallas Safari after talking and getting a quote from 2 other 5-star rated safari companies in Arusha for one main reason: communication. Tunu, the owner, was always available and promptly responded to all my questions. It turned out that his responsiveness and attention go beyond the giving you a quote and responding to your questions.
Different than my other guided travels I did before, I realized a safari trip is not one you can take for granted because it is not just about your guide knowledge of the history of the place who you will spend a day with, at most. Instead, it is a 6-day (or how many days you book for) experience that can be physically and mentally challenging. Every day will be a different day, even for the guides themselves. That's why they call it a Safari "Game" I learned. You never know what nature will throw at you at that given moment and that's when selecting a company like Dallas Safari is important. Our guide experience (Mickey) was crucial for us to get the best experience possible of those days we spent roaming bush. Again, mother nature will also play big role in what you see but I can't imagine not having an extraordinary experience every day, especially if you have have not seen these animals in the wild before.
I don't want to spoil it here, but we're pleasantly surprised by the things Tunu and Mickey added to our trip that went beyond our expectation.
Mickey's upbeat attitude, knowledge and patience made our experience so pleasant and thrilling that we could keep going another 6-day. Can't say the same about him ;)
The vehicle we used was in like-new condition, which is another very important point to consider when selecting a company because the roads are extremely demanding on them. Make sure you ask them about it before booking.
I could go on but if you're like me you're probably already tired reading this review. I truly don't have anything negative to say about them.

Perfect experience with Dallas Africa Safari
We had an absolutely incredible safari experience with Dallas Africa Safari, perfectly organized for our group of 13 people (6 adults and 7 children/teenagers). It was truly one of the most amazing highlights of our trip to Tanzania!
The adventure started with an exciting flight on a small propeller plane, which was already an unforgettable experience on its own. Flying over the African landscape and seeing the savannah from above was breathtaking — especially for the kids, who were thrilled!
Once we arrived at Nyerere National Park, we were immersed in stunning scenery and had the chance to see so many animals in their natural habitat: elephants, giraffes, hippos, lions, and much more. It was a truly authentic and magical safari.
A special thank you goes to our wonderful guides, Abduli and Joseph — outstanding professionals: knowledgeable, kind, attentive, and always available. They made the experience enjoyable for both adults and children, sharing interesting information with great passion and making us feel safe and well taken care of at all times.
Everything was perfectly organized: punctuality, comfort, attention to detail, and constant care for the needs of the entire group.
We wholeheartedly recommend Dallas Africa Safari to anyone dreaming of an unforgettable safari in Tanzania. This experience will stay in our hearts forever!

Dirty campsite.Bad organisation of the group/logistics. Driver without any interest on you to enjoy
We were 2 people and made a 6-day Safari at the end of September 2025 with Dallas Safari. We had booked this agency due to its good reviews. However after the experience, I honestly have no idea where the 5-stars review come from.
Communication prior the safari was very good and Tunu's quick replies were very helpful for us in order to organise the trip quicky.
Unfortunately the group sharing the vehicle (7 people) was organised in a way, that we had to be dropped at 3 different accommodations every time, with accomodations being almost 1h apart from each other. That meant a lot of time that we were loosing everyday instead of doing proper safari (up to 2h/day lost on this!), since our driver (Justin) would discount this driving time from the total safari time. This situation made us very unhappy since compared to other groups we were having much less safari time. Also, we were always missing dawn, sunrise and sunset, the time where animals are more active, because we were being picked up at 9:00 and dropped off at 17:00
On top of that, our driver (Justin) was always wanting to leave every spot with animals after very few minutes. Once we saw 20 baby lions together and after few minutes he wanted to leave straight away and we had to have several arguments with him in order to stay some more minutes, which is quite absurd. I dont pay this ammount of money to be begging to stay in order watching baby lions for 5 minutes.
The last day we change driver (Clement) and the new one was much better, willing to explain everything and waiting for us to watch animals without being in a hurry to leave.
Our accommodation in Serengueti was a camping site. Unfortunately, at the camping site showers and toilets were very dirty, with mouse poo in the showers. Even the place to wash your hands was dirty. In this camping there was not hot water and it gets very cold at night. Nobody warned us of this and if we had known in advance, we would have definitely not have chosen this camping as accommodation.
Overall, I would not repeat the experience unfortunately and would search an alternative company.
