Flawless Planning, Amazing Guide, and the Trip of a Lifetime
We had been planning this trip for over a year and contacted hundreds of travel agencies. Pamoja was one of the few that stayed in touch with us from the very beginning. We had lots of ideas and destinations in mind, and it wasn’t easy to fit everything into our limited traveling days, but Regina never let us down. We spent a lot of time discussing the itinerary via email, throughout our countless messages, she always remained patient and provided us with so much helpful information and advice.
As first-time travelers to Africa, even after all our research, we were most worried about running into scams, just like the ones you read about online. But Regina gave us a strong sense of security, she always replied promptly and reminded us of important things to watch out for, she was warm and willing to help. On our first day in Uganda, she even came to the hotel to greet us in person and reconfirm all the details of the trip ahead.
Our original 14-day trip spanned three countries and was supposed to be guided by three different guides, but in the end, Pamoja arranged for Allan to accompany us for the entire journey, which turned out to be the best decision ever.
We met Allan when he picked us up after a short flight to Kisoro. He was polite and reserved at first, shared interesting insights about the landscapes and local culture. He was incredibly attentive, he noticed when we were taking photos from the car and would slow down so we could get the perfect shot. He answered all of our questions with deep knowledge and clarity. When unexpected issues came up, he handled them calmly and efficiently. He remembered all our conversations, even our casual comments and little wishes, and tried his best to meet them whenever possible.
As the days went by, we couldn’t help but grow more and more fond of Allan. Beneath his professional knowledge is a humorous and charming soul. I was delighted to discover that we shared the same taste in music (or at least I like to think so). On the long road trips, we played music through the speaker… well, maybe I forced Allan to listen to my playlist. When we look back on this wonderful journey someday, I believe we’ll both think of the same song. Right, Allan?
What you get to see on safari depends on luck, but thanks to Allan’s sharp eyes, we managed to spot almost every kind of animal (the Big Five were just the beginning). Every encounter with wildlife left me amazed and deeply satisfied. We even completed our “wish list” of animals within the first few days, so for the rest of the game drives, we could sit back, relax, snack, and just enjoy the view.
Oh, and that best sundowner! It’s a memory that will stay with me for a lifetime. I’m so glad I didn’t drink too much that day and could actually remember it!
Every moment and every sight on my first trip to Africa amazed me, it gave me the confidence to keep exploring this unfamiliar continent. And all of this was made possible by Pamoja’s flawless arrangements. Pamoja trully deserves a full five stars—just like Allan. Thank you for making this journey so unforgettable.

Excellent organizers of the most unforgetable safari
Using Safaribookings.com lead me to Pamoja and gave me the confidence to entrust them with crafting the most incredible safari in Kenya and Uganda. Putting your trust (and money) in a company half a world away takes a leap of faith but I felt comfortable with Pamoja based on the quick, well thought out responses from Regina and reading about the ethics of the company.
Working closely with Regina, she developed an itinerary that included a visit to the orphan elephants at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and mini safari in Nairobi National Park on my birthday. Then we were off to 5 of the most spectacular parks in Uganda. All of our transfers and intra-Africa flights were arranged perfectly.
Meeting our fabulous guide, Amos, at the Entebbe airport with the huge Land Cruiser that was to be our moving home for the next 10 days was a great start to our adventure. Pamoja is eco-friendly and provided reusable water bottles to be refilled daily from huge bottles in an attempt to cut down on the tremendous plastic consumption.
Regina recommended lodges at the different parks that were unique and a quiet refuge to come "home" to at night after a long day on bumpy, dusty roads. The freshly prepared meals were exquisite. It was truly an "Out of Africa" experience to be sleeping under mosquito netting every night, sometimes with a hot water bottle in the bed to warm it on a cool evening.
Amos gave us a briefing every evening so we would know what time we'd be starting the next day and what to expect. Everyday in Uganda was filled with incredible sights and sounds - from the fantastic animal sightings to the views of the everyday life of the Ugandan people. Thanks to Pamoja's extensive knowledge of Uganda, they included things I had never heard of such as the Ziwa Rhino ranch where we came face to face with southern white rhino and Experimental Lion and Leopard tracking at Queen Elizabeth NP for close up views of those big cats. We asked for some additional activities such as night drives with rangers and lastly, a horseback ride and nature hike at Lake Mburo which were all added to customize our itinerary.
The chimp and gorilla trekking were the highlights of the trip but have no doubt, it can be challenging. Both days were over 2 hours and 2+ miles in dense forests without trails and lots of mud. Amos kindly assisted us with putting on the much needed gaiters to protect our legs from the ants and stickers. Porters in Kibale are totally necessary and a godsend.
We can't thank Pamoja enough, specifically Regina and Amos, for this truly once in a life time trip. It sounds like a cliche but there is little chance of our seeing mountain gorillas or tree climbing lions again so these were once in a lifetime moments.
A once in a lifetime experience!
A HUGE thank you to everyone at Pamoja, with a special mention for our itinerary organiser Rejina and our guide and driver David, for making our honeymoon a once in a lifetime unforgettable trip around Uganda. We were blown away with the natural beauty and wildlife found in Uganda, and a big part in us seeing this was thanks to David. He went above and beyond taking us on impromptu game drives on the way between stops on our tour, and this meant we were able to see so many animals and large swathes of multiple national parks. The central reason we came to Uganda was to see gorillas in their natural habitat, and the gorilla trekking blew our expectations out of the water. The overall tour was so well organised, and Pamoja made the extra effort to share with hotels that it was our honeymoon which meant we had some lovely surprises along the way! We couldn't have wished for a better trip and are really grateful for having had David as our guide. He was very knowledgeable on all things wildlife, but beyond this we feel that we learnt a lot about the country of Uganda too. Not to forget that he is also an all round lovely person! Thank you all again, and we recommend Pamoja to anyone who is thinking of visiting Uganda and wants an amazing personalised private tour.
Unforgettable experience, faultlessorganisation, incredible guide and perfect honeymoon
My wife and I planned our honeymoon through Pamoja, and we were absolutely blown away. From the first email to the final day of our trip, everything exceeded our expectations.
We did an 8-day safari through Uganda, with highlights including gorilla trekking, golden monkeys in Mgahinga, game drives in Murchison Falls, and a relaxing stay at Lake Bunyonyi—all in our own private safari Land Cruiser.
Our guide, David, was the heart and soul of the trip. From the moment we met him, he was warm, knowledgeable, fun, and unbelievably attentive. His ability to spot wildlife was astonishing, and he constantly went above and beyond—squeezing in extra game drives, taking scenic routes to maximize animal sightings, and even coordinating honeymoon surprises with our lodges. Thanks to David, every day felt personal and special. By the end, he felt more like a friend than a guide.
Behind the scenes, Regina made the planning effortless. She responded quickly, crafted a fantastic itinerary, and made sure every hotel, transfer, and detail was spot on. She also checked in during the trip to ensure everything ran smoothly and clearly put in the effort to match us with the perfect guide—David.
Uganda itself is breathtaking, full of stunning landscapes, rich wildlife, and welcoming people. We saw four of the Big Five, golden monkeys, and of course, the unforgettable gorillas—a true once-in-a-lifetime moment.
Endless thanks to Pamoja, Regina, and especially David for creating a honeymoon beyond our dreams. We’ll treasure this adventure forever.

Amazing customised honeymoon & marathon running safari - and we walked with Gorillas!
I asked Pamoja Tours to design our HoneyMoon Safari in Uganda, Ruanda and Burundi, with the caviat that we wanted to run the Uganda Marathon and the Kigali Marathon during our holiday. Christine and the team designed the perfect trip, including off the beaten track like Masaka so we could run, and the most amazing places: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, the Volcanos National Park or the very own Source of the Nile! Epic! We tracked gorillas, chimps and golden monkeys! So close it was almost like a National Geographic Documentary. The day we got to spend 1 hour with a family of gorillas, so close to a silverback, was one of the most incredible of our lives. And our guide Letitiah was the BEST! I cannot emphasise enough how professional, attentive and knowledgeable she was. It was an amazing trip that we will not forget!
