Responsive tour operator with the best itinerary with experienced guide at a good value

After a lot of time and research, I narrowed it down to 5 tour operators and itineraries, but it became clear that they were all similar except Kilimanjaro Heroes, who had the best 5 day itinerary with solid all-day game drives each day. The others just drop you off at a lodge the first day (only 3 real days of game drives). Evarist the owner was also the most responsive in our communications compared with the others. They are a medium sized tour company with 15 years experience and had the better value of what you get. We also got an experienced guide with 10 years experience that is well known with the other tour guides. They all work with each other to locate pride of lions, or a leopard, and other animals to get as many animal sightings as possible, which saves a lot of time just randomly driving around looking for them. What makes a good safari is the right combination of the itinerary, the lodging, and the expertise of the guide. This to operator had the right mix of all of them!

7-Day Lemosho Route - November 2024

We did the 7-Day Lemosho Route in November 2024 as a group of six and everything was great. We had an amazing hike with Kilimanjaro heroes adventures and especially our three guides David, David and GoodLuck. All the porters were amazing too and Mayo was a great cook. All of them are the true heroes and make it possible for everyone to summit the Kilimanjaro. Thank you all for making this amazing experience possible.

Our safari with Kilimanjaro Heroes was absolutely phenomenal! From start to finish, their communication and planning were impeccable, making the entire experience seamless and stress-free. We booked this trip for a milestone birthday, and they truly made it special with thoughtful touches and expert guidance.

The safari itself was beyond our wildest dreams. We were lucky enough to see all the animals we’d hoped for, including the legendary Big 5! Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, ensuring we got the best views while respecting the wildlife. Their hotel recommendations were spot on, offering comfort and great service after our adventurous days.

A special shoutout to Jamal, our guide, who made the experience unforgettable. His warmth, friendliness, and deep knowledge of the area and animals added so much to our journey. He went above and beyond to ensure we had the best time possible.

If you’re considering booking a safari, I couldn’t recommend Kilimanjaro Heroes more. They exceeded every expectation, and this trip will stay with us forever!

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro was an adventure of a lifetime, and I owe it all to Kilimanjaro Heroes. I took the 7-day Lemosho Route, and from start to finish, the experience was nothing short of incredible. The guides were not just knowledgeable but also endlessly encouraging, sharing their expertise with patience and care. They knew the mountain like the back of their hands, and their confidence gave me the strength I didn't know I had.

The meals prepared by the cook were a true highlight of the journey. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were always delicious and varied, which is not something I expected on a mountain trek. Every meal felt like it was made with thoughtfulness and a touch of home, giving us the energy we needed to push forward.

And then there were the porters—absolute superhumans. Watching them carry all that weight up and down the trail left me in awe. Their dedication and strength were inspiring, and they did it all with a smile, making the tough moments feel a little lighter.

They weren’t just guiding us up a mountain; they were with us every step of the way, rooting for our success, caring about our journey to the summit as if it was their own. Words can’t express how grateful my husband and I are to have chosen Kilimanjaro Heroes Adventures as our team for this hike. The hike alone was incredible, but what truly made it a special experience was the crew that we went with. Gasper and Calvin were our guides and made our trip enjoyable, social, we got a Swahili lesson, and learned a lot about the mountain and culture. Our waiter, Adam, made sure we had hot water, served us food, made many trips to fill up our water bottles, and always had a smile on his face. Peter was our chef and it felt as if we were eating at a 5 star restaurant on a mountain top!!! The porters and tent crew were incredible. The hospitality was unmatched. Truly the best experience in every aspect possible.
