Poor organization

The organization was a complete disaster. On the day we arrived, a driver picked us up and dropped us off at the hotel at 1:00 p.m. He told us that someone would come later that afternoon to give us a briefing. As soon as we arrived, I sent a WhatsApp message to our contact person, but they never replied. We found ourselves stuck at the hotel with no idea what time the safari would start, who would pick us up, or what the plan was.

Eventually, at around 7:00 p.m., the hotel reception managed to get in touch with them, and they told us that the briefing would take place the following morning. It never happened. They simply picked us up from the hotel and drove us straight to the parks.

Once we were there, I think your experience depends entirely on the driver you get. Ours was terrible. He barely explained anything, rarely stopped at good photo spots, and although we were very lucky to see all the animals we hoped for, it certainly wasn’t because he was actively looking for them. In fact, he spent most of the drive using his phone.

On our first day in the Serengeti, he picked us up 1 hour and 15 minutes later than the agreed time. Even worse, on the day we visited the Ngorongoro Crater, we had been told it was essential to leave early to make the most of our permit before it expired. Instead, we left the camp two hours late because our driver was waiting to help one of his colleagues.

The parks themselves are absolutely incredible, but the company’s organization leaves a lot to be desired. After the trip, we sent them a WhatsApp message with detailed feedback so they could improve their service. They never even replied with a simple “thank you.”

I would never book with this company again.

Very good price relationship. Both the travel company, the assigned guide (Rehema and Shedrak) have been very considerate, always attentive to anything we need and adapt to what we also wanted without problem. It has been a very enjoyable experience thanks to them. We have learned several new things and have been able to discover the wonders of Tanzania.

It can be overwhelming when first searching for a safari tour company, there are plenty to choose from. However, I would strongly recommend Simbaland tours! We booked over a year in advance and from start to finish nothing but good things. We had clear, helpful information when figuring out how long and where we wanted to go. Any questions we had was answered in a timely manner. My husband and I traveled together & we both cant get over how great it was. We had John as our guide the whole time. He was very knowledgeable, very down to earth, and always wanted to make sure everyone was happy. We had cooked meals three times a day! Even out on a game drive, our lunch was a cooked meal. while we noticed other companies had box lunches for their clients with sandwiches and fruit. A cooked meal went a long way when it would be hours before the next meal time. John was juggling 5 different itineraries from others in our group and he did it with grace. It cant be easy! John was also a great, safe driver. We noticed other guides drove recklessly on wet curvy dangerous roads. We had no issues our 7 days. Comfortable lodging, friendly staff at all locations we stayed. Incredible time out in the parks. We saw so many animals, 6 cheetahs in one day! We will always remember this trip and a big part of that is how well Simbaland treated us and planned the entire stay. Made it such an easy, enjoyable experiences

The best company to go on a safari in Tanzania

Simbaland from the beginning showed great knowledge and helped us choose the safari that best suited what we needed. Both the Sedrack guide and the company management have always been aware that we are well and enjoy the experience. They have included many activities, of high quality and at an unbeatable price. We have travelled around many parts of the world and have never had such a friendly and close treatment as in this company. We will definitely be back and it will be with Simbaland.

My son and I, after hiking up Kilimanjaro, did a safari with Simbaland magic tours. Prior to our tour, our correspondent Heavenlight was very easy to work with. I texted questions to her at random times, and she always responded immediately.
Our Guide on the Safari, Jonathon, was knowledgeable, and very observant. We were also thrilled that we were able to see the big Five under his direction. The level of service was fantastic.
