A unique experience through Tanzania and Zanzibar designed by Gloria, leaving us great memories
Overall Experience
We booked a 10-day safari and Zanzibar package with Tanzania Pilgrimage Safaris, visiting Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti, and the beaches of Zanzibar. Overall, it was a unique and memorable journey, and despite a few logistical hiccups along the way, we came home with incredible, unforgettable memories.
The Pros
Outstanding Communication: Communication from April through August was exceptional. Unlike other companies that only communicate via email, Gloria was always available on WhatsApp - both before and during the trip - at any hour and any day of the week. She showed great professionalism, understood our needs, and provided options that fit our budget.
Great Accommodations: All three accommodations during the safari were excellent (Sangaiwe Tented Lodgeת Serengeti Central Lodgeת Mbuni Serengeti Camp).
Dedicated Guide: Our guide, Justin, put in a lot of effort driving throughout the day and was very informative, even when the jeep had issues, sharing facts about the wildlife and the parks.
The Cons
Flight & Itinerary Change: We had originally planned to spend time in the Northern Serengeti to catch the Great Migration before taking a domestic flight to Zanzibar. However, on our first day in Arusha, we were informed that our stay and flight were moved to the Central Serengeti. Despite requesting to keep the original plan, it couldn't be adjusted. We still don't fully understand why this happened, and it unfortunately impacted our final game drive - we had to drive from the north a day after we got there back 3 hours to the Seronera Airstrip.
Wildlife Expectations: While we understand that a safari operator cannot guarantee specific animal sightings, we didn't get to see a cheetah, a hunt, or mating behavior. We expected our guide to be a bit more assertive in searching for these moments, though it could also have been down to nature and weather.
The Bottom Line
Tanzania Pilgrimage Safaris offered the best VALUE FOR MONEY and fit our budget better than any other operator (and I did extensive research). While there were a few issues along the way, we couldn't have done a safari like this within our budget anywhere else. The memories and overall experience we created with them were beyond our expectations.
Gasper is amazing, extremely organised and knowledgeable and very helpful
Gasper our tour leader communicated for the 6 months before we went and during the trip. He met us at the start of it having organised an airport pick up and a hotel then taxi to start safari. 6 months before he changed the itinerary to meet my requirements for my husband and I and our 3 teenage sons. The tour, having done extensive research before booking, was, in my opinion, excellent value for money. The safari driver/guide (Godson, was equally fantastic and communicated with Gasper and us continually and was very knowledgeable about the Serengeti and surrounding area. When there was a cancellation of a camp Gasper managed to get an even better one. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We had a 6 days safari with days added on before and after.
Gasper was invaluable when we had finished our tour, our flight to Zanzibar was cancelled and we had to fly out a day later. Gasper sourced a great new hotel for one night nearer the airport and arranged a driver and then a 4am pickup to catch a flight. He went above and beyond as we had finished with the tour and saved our trip from becoming a nightmare (power cut and loss of Internet made it tricky doing it all ourself). Couldn't have asked for a better trip or organiser.
If you are thinking of doing a fly in safari, it was a long days drive into the Serengeti, but Godson made it enjoyable by finding animals where he could. The truck seats were very comfortable and paying for 5 would have been very expensive to fly in for us, and I do believe we had sn emersive expensive into the Serengeti. A wonderful trip.
Well Organized and very responsive
We had an amazing experience on our 5-day safari and 3-day hike to Mount Meru. The entire trip was very well organized, and the team did a great job from start to finish.
The safari was fantastic, with great wildlife viewing and knowledgeable guides who made the experience enjoyable and memorable. The Mount Meru hike was challenging but incredibly rewarding, and the guides and support team were professional, friendly, and encouraging throughout.
Everything was handled smoothly, and we always felt well taken care of. We really appreciated the effort, organization, and excellent service from the whole team. Highly recommended for anyone planning a safari and Mount Meru trek!

Completly satisfied
We were very satisfied with this agency, which offered a tour tailored to our preferences, notably a day trip to the northern part of Serengeti National Park.
Our guide, Nestory, made sure the trip went exactly as planned, and we were lucky enough to see so much. The accommodations were top-notch, even though we didn’t really have time to enjoy them because we arrived quite late.
Importantly, Joel went out of his way to help us retrieve our lost luggage at the airport by having it delivered to the Serengeti National Park. He was a huge help!

Unforgettable Safari Experience
Our 5-day safari was an unforgettable experience! Everything was well organized, and Johannes made sure we had the best experience possible.
The drive to the northern Serengeti was quite long, but it was absolutely worth it because we were lucky enough to witness the Great Migration.
Thank you to the whole team for this amazing adventure. We would highly recommend this safari!
