Full Service at a Reasonable Price
We just returned from a 6 night / 7 day private safari with Blue Lilac Tours, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations from start to finish.
Everything ran incredibly smoothly. From the very first email, Edna was responsive, professional, and so easy to work with. She answered all of our questions promptly and thoughtfully, and she helped us craft an itinerary that fit exactly what we were hoping for. The planning process felt collaborative and stress-free.
Once on safari, we were in the very capable hands of our guide and driver, Boniface. He was knowledgeable, warm, and truly exceptional at spotting wildlife. We honestly don’t know how he saw half of what he did! He went the extra mile — literally — to help us track down the Big Five, and his determination and expertise made all the difference. Because we were on a private safari, he was also incredibly flexible and happy to adjust plans based on our interests and requests, which made the experience feel personal and unhurried.
We also felt that the value was outstanding. Before booking, I received a quote from a “luxury” safari company that was nearly twice the price — and interestingly, it included two of the same four lodges that were on our Blue Lilac itinerary. That really put things into perspective. We felt we received an exceptional, high-quality experience without paying an inflated premium simply for a label.
This trip was unforgettable, and so much of that is thanks to the team at Blue Lilac Tours. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a well-organized, customized, and truly special safari experience.

Trustworthy and went the extra mile
It is so difficult to know where to start when choosing a safari company. I initially contacted the Kenyan Tourist bureau who provided details from 3 operators. Edna at Blue Lilac immediately stood out. She responded to questions quickly, made suggestions and wasn't pushy. I felt comfortable dealing with her. We booked a 2 night safari in Taita Hills and Tsavo East. Our driver and guide was knowledgeable and good company. Though we only booked the safari and transfers through Edna she gave invaluable advice when our flights were changed. I highly recommend her and would use her again should we return.

Great Service and an Unforgettable Kenya Trip
Booking our safari with Blue Lilac was an excellent decision. It was important to us to work with a local, Kenya-based agency, and from the first contact we felt genuinely taken care of. We had a very specific route in mind for our eight-day trip to Kenya in November, and our travel consultant, Faith, found a way to include all our wishes while remaining flexible with any adjustments we requested.
Before, during, and after our safari, Blue Lilac was always available and made sure everything ran smoothly. The safari itself exceeded our expectations—thanks to the great company of our driver-guide Timan, unforgettable game drives, and magical moments like spotting giraffes with Mount Kilimanjaro in the background.
Overall, our trip with Blue Lilac offered great value and was an experience we can wholeheartedly recommend.
Wonderful, Ethical Company
Blue Lilac is amazing. They built a custom trip for me based on my goals. I visited national parks in Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda and saw wildlife closer than I ever imagined, to include the Big 5 and mountain gorillas and chimpanzees. The guides were wonderful, the hotels were fantastic, and the food was delicious. My entire trip was seamless, which is incredible given that I chose overland travel and they coordinated across countries with different languages and customs. This trip far exceeded my expectations. Thank you very much to Edna and her team for a dream come true trip that I will never forget.
