They genuinely care about you having an amazing experience.
My family and I had the most amazing experience thanks to African Big Cats Safari. From the beginning, Joshua and Naomi answered every question and concerned I had in planning our first Safari trip. They were also so accommodating to any request I had for our itinerary. Emanuel, the manager met with us and briefed us on what to expect after we arrived which made us feel even more at ease. Our driver tour guide Elias was the best. He is a great source of knowledge on the animals names & behaviors, the parks & regions, and the culture of Tanzania. The lodges that they partnered with were absolutely remarkable. Thanks to Priscilla and staff at Mtoni where we stayed in beautiful replica huts, the entire staff at Moonbow that celebrated us when we had a return stay during our trip, Alex and staff at Kubu Kubu who went above and beyond when my nephew was not feeling well, Hope and staff at Kitela who greeted me in the morning by name. From the simplest of things such as the comfort of the pillows, the great tasting meals and beautiful surroundings, we were unable to pick a favorite when asked because we enjoyed every lodge’s uniqueness and beauty. I would and will happily recommend them and am currently planning another excursion with them. Thanks again African Big Cats Safari.

The best thing we did was to go on our safari with Big Cats. Our guide was great.
Thank you for this experience !

Wonderful
A reputable company that met our expectations and resolved some issues at two lodges. Our guide, Clasus, was attentive to our requests, very friendly and entertaining, and tries to make sure we could see as much of him as possible. We werej able to see the Big 5!

Best trip ever!
My boyfriend and I did a week long safari with African Big Cats and it was the best experience of our life! We had an incredible guide (Lovoi) who made us feel very safe and welcome. Lovoi was also an expert at spotting every animal first, including a rhino! Emmanuel and Naomi were also very helpful in planning our trip and accommodating our needs. All of our accommodations were beautiful. If you are looking for a great safari experience, would highly recommend African Big Cats and definitely recommend requesting Lovoi as a guide!

TRIP OF A LIFETIME!
Don’t have second thoughts about booking a tour with African big cats. I worked with them for months before solidifying my plans to take that once in a lifetime trip to an African Safari.
I’m really glad that I ended up booking with them. Rick was our Tour Guide and from start to finish. He was amazing informative communicative, patient knowledgeable, friendly. We were able to see the great migration, which was a big priority for us. We saw many animals, including the black rhino. We went on an eight day seven night and all the accommodations that we stayed at were beyond our expectations and this was for mid range. We had tented rooms that were very, very, very comfortable. Me and my husband were traveling with our nine-year-old daughter alongside my cousin and her family of four including her eight year old son The food that was served at the accommodations which were arranged by big cats were very good. Booking with them made our African Safari less stressful and having Rick as a Tour Guide we couldn’t have asked for a more memorable experience. We really enjoyed our time here and this wouldn’t have been possible if I didn’t book with them.
Book your tour with Rick Joseph Sirikwa!! And have a fun time!! I’ve posted all my videos and photos of our African safari on my travel page, click on my highlights —> Africa.
Trip of a lifetime! See for yourself.

Undoubtedly the best in the business!
My husband and I fully believe that African Big Cats Safari is undoubtedly the best safari company in the business! From start to finish, we are actually able to say that working with them was perfect. We researched many safari companies and have been confident with our choice the whole time. They were immediately trustworthy, communicative, and professional and that did not change. We chose the 9 Day Incredible Safari + Cultural Experience with the addition of the Hot Air Balloon Safari and coffee experience and it was perfect! They provide a detailed itinerary and really worked with us, patiently and kindly. This continued when we had flight delays and they provided reassurance. The safari itself certainly was incredible; our best adventure yet and we are seasoned travelers! The areas and parks this safari goes, the animals and proximity to them, the amazing stays, the detail orientation, the hospitality and service, were all simply remarkable. This company is clearly a well-oiled machine and it was obvious when we compared our experiences with others. We owe our life-changing experience to our guide, Venance. From the moment we met him, we trusted him and felt safe. This was imperative for a trip like this. It felt as though he could read our minds as he prioritized the animals and experiences we preferred. He had a quiet confidence we could easily tell many other guides did not possess. He was polite, respectful, knowledgeable, and enjoyable to be with for 9 days straight. We also met Emmanuel, the managing director, who was equally professional and kind. He checked in with us at the beginning and end of the safari, which stood out to us greatly. So many little touches this company provides lends to the personalized experience. My husband and I plan to return to Tanzania and we will absolutely be using African Big Cats Safaris!

Unforgettable Safari Experience!
Here is my (long) honest review 😅:
We had a lightweight miscommunication during the planning phase, but it was rectified with a lot of patience and understanding on both ends. The logistics of our entire trip went very smooth, and the fact that they accommodated my request for my husband to join us at the very last minute, is a huge plus (he initially could not join us due to work constraints). Looking back, the miscommunication we had was a tiny issue compared to the amazing experience and memories we left with, thanks to African Big Cats Safari, to Naomi’s promise 😉, and most notably, to our amazing guide, Rick!! We lucked out with such a cool, calm, and collected tour guide who brought out the best of our safari’s action-packed experiences and sightings.
To start with, all of our accommodations were very comfortable and either met, or for most, exceeded our expectations. There really is nothing like the thrill of being surrounded by nature’s wildest animals in the comfort of your cozy tent.
The highlight of our trip was witnessing the Great Wildebeest Migration with seeing more than one crossing in just a two-hour span! It could have been luck, or being at the right place at the right time, but I believe it also takes a committed, knowledgeable, and patient tour guide to place you there. And Rick made that happen for us! We didn’t catch the big 5, but 4 out of the 5 is not bad at all! Seeing the black rhino felt like the ultimate bonus to end our trip on the highest note. We now have that unchecked leopard sighting as more of a reason to come back and hopefully, have Rick again as our guide to help us complete that safari bucket list item.
Good times were definitely had, and we can’t thank you enough for such an amazing trip with meaningful memories to last us a lifetime! Asante sana!

Best Safari Experience for first timers
My partner and I (visiting from New Zealand) had the most incredible experience with African Big Cats Safari. From the moment we landed in Tanzania, everything was perfectly organised—smooth, stress-free, and full of unforgettable moments.
Our guide, Lovoi, was exceptional. He’s not only an expert on wildlife but also a skilled driver who navigated the rugged terrain of Tarangire National Park, the Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater with ease. Thanks to his sharp eyes and deep knowledge, we saw all of the Big Five and so many more animals up close—it was truly surreal.
The accommodation was top tier: comfortable, well-located, and made us feel immersed in nature without sacrificing any comfort. The food arranged throughout the trip was also delicious and varied.
As someone who felt a little intimidated about visiting Africa for the first time, this experience completely changed my perspective. The team at African Big Cats Safari made us feel safe, welcome, and completely taken care of from start to finish. We can’t recommend them highly enough!

Amazing, safe and professional
We had an absolutely amazing experience all around. We got in touch with Big African Cats Safari online, and Joshua was very responsive to help us design an experience that was tailored to our desires and budget. They are very flexible to make the perfect custom package. Naomi then took care of the details for the booking and kept us informed as the date of the safari approached. We were met on time at the Arusha airport (our flight times kept changing), and then met with Emmanuel, the manager, who briefed us on the upcoming trip. He made us feel really safe (my 9yo daughter and I) and we immediately knew we were in good hands.
Our guide for the 8 day / 7 night safari was Venance, a really amazing person all around. Very attentive to all our needs and special requests (my daughter was not leaving without seeing cheetahs, he delivered, along with everything else!). We also added a few unplanned stops (random markets, walks in towns, etc, to experience culture) which he was happy to accommodate. We generally felt very safe in all of the driving, I can't say that all of the other tour operators gave the same impression (we saw one group lack common sense and get themselves stuck in the mud). Plenty of "clean toilet" stops along the way. Venance's planning was impeccable, always on time everywhere. Every morning the car was super clean, so he put a lot of effort even when we were not there (so extremely long hours for the guide, consider that in your tip!).
Accommodations were all top notch - we had a mix of camps and lodges. The food was super safe everywhere, lots of water provided (sealed bottles), even beer and pop if you wanted during the day. The camps were very safe and someone always accompanied us around after dark. The staff in all the lodges and camps were friendly and professional. The tourism industry is well developed, so they take safety very seriously. We always had lunch on the road, typically prepared by the place you stayed the night before. The lunches were excellent, lots of variety, and nothing to be concerned about in terms of cleanliness. We didn't meet anyone that had any traveller's food symptoms...
Animal wise, we saw everything (7 rhinos, 2 leopards!). I would strongly recommend Serengeti over all else if you want to see the typical animals. We got to see the Great Migration, a memory of a lifetime. Ngoro Ngoro crater is a must (but only takes one day). We also went to Tarangire, which was great and had tons of baobabs (my favourite tree, not present in Serengeti), but we skipped Lake Manyara, which we don't regret and got to see in the distance. We also did a 1 hour walk along the crater rim with a park ranger, which was amazing.
All in all the experience of a lifetime.

Professional, efficient, knowledgeable, pleasant, accommodating.
Value for money: Excellent
Accommodations: clean, comfortable, beautiful landscapes/views, all amenities provided for.
Reliability: Very efficient from start to end. All went according to plan: from airport pick up to airport drop off.
Tour: It was a private tour tailored to our needs and requests. Suggestions for improvement were made but not forced, these were heeded and in retrospect were correctly suggested. All areas visited were impressively unique.
Guide: Left us with the best impressions.
