Even though it was not my first time going on safari, Obedi and the team made me feel like I've never been there before. Every day brought a new wow moment - from lions crossing the road right in front of us, to cheetahs feeding and to stinky hippos hahah. Obedi is an incredible guide: knowledgeable, funny, truly passionate about wildlife and the land, a very skilled driver and most importantly a kind man that we will forever see as a dear friend. Throughout the journey we felt safe, taken care of and completely immersed in the experience. We booked our honeymoon safari in Tanzania through African Big Cats and had an absolutely incredible experience. From the very beginning, everything was extremely well-organized and thoughtfully planned. We spent 6 days on safari across the Serengeti and Ngorongoro, followed by 3 relaxing days in Zanzibar, and every moment exceeded our expectations.
African Big Cats stood out for how customizable the itinerary was. They worked with us to tailor every detail to our preferences and honeymoon vision. The accommodations were beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly located, with staff who went above and beyond to make us feel special.

My husband and I had the most incredible private safari experience during our holiday to Tanzania in July. Having previously done a safari in South Africa, this was our first time in Tanzania, and it exceeded all our expectations.
We booked our trip with African Big Cats Safaris, and their team was exceptional. They always responded promptly and provided excellent suggestions for lodges and other details.
The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the safari itself. Erick, our guide, was very knowledgeable and showed us more animals than we could have ever dreamed of. His trained eyes spotted animals from afar, and he managed to get us close while being respectful of their habitat. Seeing leopards, cheetahs, lions, hippos, elephants, and many other animals was truly awe-inspiring. We visited both the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater. While both were amazing, if you can only visit one, I highly recommend the Serengeti.
During our safari, we stayed at Kubukubu, where the staff were incredibly friendly, and our lodge was very comfortable. We also stayed at Lake Masek Tented Lodge, which was my husband's favorite due to its authentic tent-like experience. Seeing a hippo walking in the garden while we enjoyed a pre-dinner drink was pretty cool too. We ended our safari at Lake Manyara Kilimamoja, which was luxurious and simply stunning, with breathtaking views from our bungalow.
We combined our safari with a beach holiday in Zanzibar, which was lovely, but the safari was undoubtedly the highlight of our trip.
I highly recommend African Big Cats Safaris if you are planning a trip to Tanzania. Be sure to ask for Erick as your guide and driver!

10/10, a fun and safe trip of a lifetime!
We went on an 11 day safari and beach combination trip, which exceeded our expectations! We were a bit nervous to go somewhere so unfamiliar as two women, but the communication and flexibility beforehand with Emmanuel and Naomi was easy and fast and made us comfortable enough to book. They helped us adjust the itinerary to include an extra night upon arrival to adjust, as well as change one of the beach days to an additional safari day, since we were most interested in Serengeti and adding the balloon safari (which is incredible and totally worth it!!!). Only note we would add, is if you go to bring small bills (singles) to tip the people at each stay who handle your luggage for you. Otherwise, we were extremely prepared for each situation we were in!
The accommodations were above and beyond, I kept thinking we booked the luxury when we booked the comfort! Each stay was welcoming, beautiful, and extremely comfortable. The food was incredible, and all the lunches packed to eat on a picnic were amazing and more than enough.
Our guide, Dominik, was fantastic! Very nice and accommodating, knowledgable about each place we went to and each animal we saw, and shared a lot of information which was great. He drove safely, while still managing to find tons of animals to see. We saw the big 5, including watching a leopard climb down a tree and walk around from just a few feet away! I was most excited to see a rhino, and when we did see one, he made sure I had plenty of time to look at it and enjoy the moment. He always made sure we were comfortable and ate enough at every meal.
The Zanzibar portion of our trip was very relaxing. We weren't the biggest fans of Stone Town, but loved the Jozani Forest and the Z Hotel (to each their own!). The staff was kind and easy to communicate with, and the massages at the hotel were phenomenal.
Overall, this experience was better than we could have imagined, and we will be recommending it to everyone we know!

Attentive.Dedicated.Caring.Reliable
We received several offers from different companies for our Safari tour. After reviewing the offers, we found the 9-Day Honeymoon Safari package from African Big Cats and thought it would be perfect for our 25th wedding anniversary celebration. Knowing nothing about the company, we first reviewed their information, then looked at their reviews. They received good reviews everywhere we saw, so we decided to go with them.
African Big Cats walked us through this entire process with care. They required an initial deposit, and the balance was due three weeks before arrival - I appreciated that. Naomi was patient, dedicated, responsive, and attentive to every detail. She arranged our flight to and from Zanzibar. She even took care to recommend a day hotel to rest before our flight home. This recommendation was the respite we didn’t know we needed, but she did. We were able to get some rest, shower, and eat a meal before heading to the airport for the 25-hour flight home.
In addition, it was great to have Emmanuel meet us before the journey began to check on us and discuss our Safari trip. Our guide, Venance, was very informative, answering questions, providing context, and information regarding people, places, and things. He is well-versed in the ecosystem and animals in each park. The lunches for each day were good, and every lodge chosen in the package was outstanding, and the service was impeccable. We were in awe with each one having its unique design and architecture. Each lodge celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary, and each time was special, a memory to never forget.
Our beach journey was great too. Our car service was with Simba Tour, and again, they took care of us. The Z Hotel was beautiful.
If you want to feel safe, secure, and loved, then choose African Big Cats for your Safari journey – we are so glad that we did!

Our experience was superb. My wife and I traveled to Tanzania for our honeymoon and African Big Cat Safari took care of everything for us. Our guide, Vinasce, was very polite and easy to talk to. Our 5-day safari with African Big Cats was outstanding and made even more special by our incredible guide, Zab. From the moment we met him, it was clear we were in the best hands. He was knowledgeable, thoughtful, and genuinely passionate about making our experience unforgettable. He wasn’t just aiming for “good” – he wanted everything to be excellent.
Zab had an unbelievable eye for spotting wildlife. While other vehicles drove past, he would stop and point out animals we never would have seen. He truly had eyes like a hawk. His warmth, humour and insight into both wildlife and local culture added so much to the trip.
On the first day, we stopped for lunch at a quiet, scenic spot with just the three of us, well away from the main crowds, and with a breathtaking view. It was a thoughtful touch and set the tone for the rest of the safari.
Everything was incredibly well organised. Communication with African Big Cats was brilliant from start to finish, and they even arranged a surprise birthday treat, which was a lovely gesture. The pre-safari briefing and the debrief helped everything feel smooth and added a personal touch.
Everywhere we stayed was exceptional. We came away with amazing memories and huge appreciation for Zab and the whole team. Highly recommended.

Amazing
My wife and I did the 11 day safari and Zanzibar tour with African big cat Safaris. We had an amazing trip visiting Tarangire, Ngorogoro, Serengeti and Lake Manyara as well as relaxing for five nights in Zanzibar. Our safari guide Dominick was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, he was also a careful and safe driver which is very important ,we saw several other jeeps that had been involved in serious accidents during our safari. A perfect way to ruin your trip of a lifetime.
On safari we were able to see lots of the wildlife including many encounters with the elephants, lions, buffalo , rhino ,cheetah and catch a glimpse of a leopard disappearing into the undergrowth also numerous other species of antelope ,bird and mammal.
Zanzibar was the perfect counter to the early starts of safari and a good relaxing way to end the holiday
All the accomodation arranged was of a good standard and the food was superb wherever we went. The picnic lunches during the day on safari were well catered with plenty of variety and quantity.
Our dealings with Big Cat Safaris were all smooth and any hiccups were sorted quickly.
Overall this was an incredible trip we had planned to do for years and we are glad we finally made the call to do it.

Magical African Experience
We spent four unforgettable days on an African safari exploring the renowned parks including Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti, and Tarangire, organised by African Big Cats. Our experience was truly extraordinary, and we cannot recommend our guide Karim highly enough.
Karim was incredibly knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the parks, and his passion for wildlife was evident in every explanation he offered. He was always well-informed, courteous, and kind, making us feel comfortable and well taken care of throughout the journey. His professionalism was unmatched — always punctual, always with a warm smile, and always willing to explain and give detailed insights about the wildlife and environment we encountered. He made our final day in the Serengeti a dream come true as we saw all the wild cats one after the other as well as the other magnificent animals up close, making this trip a deeply meaningful adventure.
The entire team, especially Emmanuel, was equally outstanding, demonstrating incredible dedication and care. Their prompt communication, and genuine willingness to accommodate our needs, gained our trust made this whole experience seamless.

Simply Amazing enhanced by our guide Claus
We had a 5 day Safari booked and from the start to finish the company has been excellent. Fantastic communication during the booking process to take sure everything was spot on for what we wanted as a family. On arrival in Tanzania everything went to plan as described and changes were made to accommodate a flight change we had had too. Don’t hesitate in trusting Big Cat Safari for your trip. A special mention to the people at Embalakai Camps for adding so much to our stay there. The most important thing was to see so much and so many animals in their natural environment. This was made so special by Claus our guide - what a lovely man he was, so friendly, so accommodating, so knowledgable and can’t imagine there was a better guide in Tanzania for us. Thank you Claus and thank you Big Cat Safari for going above and beyond even retrieving my wife’s sunglasses from the hotel in Arusha and bringing out to us in the Serengeti ….. amazing
