An incredible feeling
We've just finished a 5-day safari in Tanzania, and the experience was simply extraordinary. We chose a camping package, which made the adventure even more authentic and immersive. Sleeping under the stars and falling asleep to the sounds of the savanna is an indescribable feeling.
Our adventure was made perfect by our guide, Joel, who showed incredible professionalism and knowledge of the area. He was able to spot the most elusive animals, allowing us to see all of the Big Five: majestic lions, leopards, impressive elephants, rare rhinos, and buffalo. But the most thrilling moment was witnessing the Great Migration of the wildebeest, a spectacle of nature that left us breathless. In addition to his skill, his helpfulness and courtesy made every moment of the safari a real pleasure.
A special thank you also goes to our fantastic cook who, even in the middle of the savanna, managed to create delicious meals.
I'd also like to thank Shadrack, who organized the safari from start to finish flawlessly. He always answered all my questions and was extremely helpful from the moment we set foot in Tanzania until the end of the safari.
I can't recommend Meru Slopes enough. Hakuna matata!

Amazing 11 Day Africa Safari Experience with Meru Slopes
We had the most incredible and unforgettable Safari experience in Tanzania with Meru Slopes from 8/28-9/7. This wonderful 11 day trip exceeded our expectations in every way. We are extremely satisfied and grateful for the service and care provided by the entire Meru Slopes team. The food was great, the accomodation was clean and comfortable, and the game drive was exciting, and the overall itenary was well planned. This was not easy for our large group that needed 10 Safari vehicles.
Our driver and guide Samwil went above and beyond to make our trip amazing and trouble free. He was so friendly and accommodated all our needs without hesitation, often sacrificed his own time. In Lake Natron we were separated from other people from our vehicle by moving to another camp, and he had to come to two places to pick us up. As the result, he spent more than 1 hr round trip on the road, compared to other drivers in our group. And he did it happily. Every day, he cleaned our vehicle and picked up our personal belongings that we left behind. He drove carefully and checked our vehicle frequently to ensure it was problem free. With his guidance and help, we achieved all of goals of this trip and much more!
If you are looking for an Africa safari adventure filled with breathtaking views, excellent service, unforgettable memories, and unbeatable price, Meru Slope and Samwil is the perfect choice! Highly recommended.

8 Day Mid-Range Serengeti Safari
Lubulu was our driver and guide for our 6 day safari into the Serengeti. His heritage is Maasai, so who could be better, to guide us through the area and share his knowledge. He was excellent throughout, spotting wildlife and sharing information about their behaviours. We couldn’t have asked for more.
Our first safari was to Tarangire National Park. We spotted elephants, lion, zebra, and giraffe as well as several bird species. If this was just the first day we were in for a real treat. On the second day we saw a cheetah and her cub. My partner and I had waited 23 years since our first safari to see cheetah, what a thrill. We saw the big 5, ugly 5, and more.
The highlight was the wildebeest migration at the river crossing, a real spectacle, and nothing really prepares you for this event. We sat for over three hours just watching the wildebeest cross the river. The wildebeest just kept coming and coming, you could see them for miles in the distance. It was overwhelming to see the sheer numbers and watching the vultures waiting for one of them to slip up.
Lubulu didn’t take us to the Maasai villages, he said his focus was on the animals. We did stop at a couple of craft markets, just to take a short break with the option of shopping. I thought the second one was the best.
Lubulu looked after us really well. Thank you so much, and whenever I hear the lyrics of Toto Africa it will transport me back to those spectacular moments in Tanzania.

Greatest adventure of our life
We had an absolutely amazing Safari experience with Meru Slopes. Our guide Joel helped us spot all the big 5 and many more. He was so friendly and was always listening to our wishes. Our chef Rashiki was cooking the most delicious local dishes.
We extended our trip by an extra day to the Materuni waterfalls and hot springs and had a blast with our guide Victor.
Everything was so we'll organized that we could just lean back and enjoy. Thank you Meru Slopes!

Unforgettable experience
An unforgettable experience!
We relied on Meru Slopes Tours for our 6-day safari through the Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, and Lake Manyara. Everything was coordinated perfectly, and we thank Almachius for his patience and helpfulness, always responding promptly.
Thanks to our guide Abraham and our chef Buga, the safari even exceeded our expectations. Ask for them if possible!
We recommend spending at least 1 or 2 nights in a tent in the Serengeti so you can truly experience the nature that surrounds you—something indescribable.
A memorable experience that we will cherish for a lifetime. Thank you!

Fantastic Safari
We had an unforgettable experience in Tanzania, visiting the Tarangire National Park, the Serengeti National Park, and the Ngorongoro Crater. From day one, we were impressed by the excellent organization: everything was taken care of down to the smallest detail, allowing us to fully enjoy the trip without a care in the world.
Sleeping in tented camps surrounded by nature was exciting and evocative, allowing us to experience the authentic safari atmosphere. Our chef, Goudi, was always there to accompany us, surprising us every day with delicious and meticulously prepared dishes.
Our driver, Abraham, proved to be extremely experienced, kind, and always available to accommodate our requests. Thanks to his knowledge and attention, we were able to spot countless animals up close and experience the safari in complete safety.
A wonderful experience, one we will cherish forever and one we recommend without hesitation to anyone dreaming of an authentic safari in Tanzania.

A marvelous safari trip with Meru Slopes Tours.
A marvelous 9 days safari we did from August 29 to September 7, 2025. Lots of wild animals and sceneries were impressive. The journey plan and accommodations were satisfied. The manager of our tour team, Almachius Audax, was a very responsive and helpful person. He helped us to arrange a last day’s city tour in our free time before we left the city. The driver and guide of our car, Muddy, should be specially mentioned due to his professional manner, kindness and experience in this field. His enthusiasm for his job moved us.
Great tour!
Unforgettable experience! Our driver Stanley has the excellent skills and lots of knowledge of animals/birds.

Absolutely recommended
After a long search we chose Meru Slopes thanks to the excellent reviews and the availability and kindness of the contact person, Shadrack.
Back from our safari we can say: we couldn't have made a better choice!
We chose a 5 days / 4 nights basic and shared safari in Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro.
The first night, after Tarangire NP, is at Fanaka Lodge: there are bungalows with private bathroom, a swimming pool and a beautiful garden.
The public camping in Serengeti is very very basic... but we loved it! It is the true essence of safari! You can have visits from all kinds of animals in the middle of the tents and during the night you can hear the sounds of the animals and the noises of the savannah.
The last camping, Simba Public Campsite in Ngorongoro, is better organized than the Serengeti one but more crowded and during the night is quite cold: we suggest to bring warm and heavy clothing, for example a thermal sweatshirt and a light windbreaker or down jacket.
The jeep was in excellent condition and was cleaned every day by our guide.
Luckily we also had a great time with our travel companions.
As for the price, we can say that it is really fair, considering the high entrance fees to national parks.
Let's talk about the staff.
Shadrack, from the very first moment, was available to respond very quickly to all our requests via email and to change the program according to our needs. He patiently and kindly answered all our questions, even the "strangest" ones.
Paul, our guide and driver, is simply the best guide we could have come across, always smiling, kind and friendly. He speaks excellent English and bring good humor into the jeep during long days and transfers from one park to another. Thanks to him we were able to see most of the animals up close: the mother cheetah with 4 cubs, the lionesses with 8 lion cubs, the leopard resting on the branch of a tree after having devoured the prey on the branch below, and all other kinds of animals. We also managed to see the Great Wildebeest Migration crossing the Mara River
Rachid, our chef, was always smiling and ready to make jokes. He prepared excellent meals, from breakfast to dinner, always different from one day to the next.
We really enjoyed the safari, above all the Serengeti NP.
It's definitely one of the most beautiful trips we've ever done.
We will definitely recommend Meru Slopes to anyone who asks us for advice on a safari in Tanzania!

Amazing private safari tour that is much higher end than the term mid-range implies
My wife and I had a fantastic experience on our private 7-day mid-range tour of the Serengeti and the Great Migration Mara River crossing! We spent a lot of time planning this trip, working very closely with our sales representative Jerome Hotti who was both extremely helpful and extremely patient in working with us to plan the trip exactly the way we wanted it, and even met us in our hotel in Arusha the morning before we headed out to make sure everything was just right. We settled on 7 days / 6 nights and it gave us time to see everything we hoped for. Our very experienced guide and driver, Maeda, did a fantastic job navigating the challenging roads and finding us all of the game we hoped to see on this Safari including several instances of lions up close. Most importantly however we were able to witness an unbelievable crossing of the Mara River by a wildebeest herd that must have numbered over a thousand, plus a group of zebras that joined in.
The accommodations provided as well as the food served were really first rate. While this is advertised as a "mid-range" tour it is hard for me to imagine that luxury accommodations could offer much more. In particular the Kubu Kubu tented lodge in the central Serengeti was really memorable. The vehicle we traveled in was an oversized Toyota Land Cruiser - 4 rows of seats with an open center aisle and pop-up roof which for the 2 of us was terrific to be able to move around so easily. Maeda kept it well stocked and he navigated us expertly through some very challenging spots.
The Serengeti is vast, so a lot of driving is required, particularly to reach the Mara River when staring in Arusha, but it's worth it to see the river crossing. If you do a safari at a different time of year however, it is not necessary to drive all the way to the Mara River, so I'd suggest saving that extra bit of driving. Either way, going to both Tarangire and down into the Ngorongoro Crater are 2 parks not to be missed because there is a high concentration of animals in a relatively (compared to the Serengeti) small area.
We also visited a Masai village in Ngorongoro, as well as a local school that Maeda arranged for us on the fly and I'd totally recommend doing both.
On the last day we were traveling to Kenya by road at the Namanga border crossing. Our driver Herman got us up there and through immigration and customs right on time, but the guide from the tour company on the Kenya side was delayed for 90 minutes due to car trouble. Rather than leave us waiting on our own, Jerome instructed Herman to wait with us until the Kenyan arrived. This was much appreciated and is indicative of the caring service provided throughout.
