Superb service and safari delivery!
5/5

We had a wonderful time during our 9 day private mid range Serengeti Safari.
Everything was wonderful. All accomodation was great - clean, comfortable, and with friendly staff who were attentive to our needs.
Food was great - breakfast, lunch and dinner. Only thing was there was too much food for lunch but better that than not enough 🥰. We were never hungry! The accomodation prepared packed lunches that we ate whilst out on Safari- everything so well organised.

The actual Safari was superb! We cannot rave enough about the memories we have formed whilst out on safari with our wonderful guide Max. Max was very knowledgable about the culture and history of Tanzania and about ‘all things safari’. Max drove safely at all times and through his expertise we were able to meet our dreams of seeing lions, leopards, giraffes, elephants, cheetahs, different monkeys, multiple types of antelope and many different birds. We will never forget our experiences and would highly recommend Max and Meru Slopes as the safari tour operator to choose. Our favourite place was the Serengeti where we spent 4 nights/5 days exploring. The days were packed from almost dawn to dusk whilst on the Serengeti. We also splurged on a balloon ride over the Serengeti and this was brilliant! So glad we did this (NYSSA were the balloon operators and Meru Slopes organised this for us).

The quote and booking process was great too! We dealt with Almachius who was easy to deal with and very supportive of our needs. Nothing was a problem, even when we messaged Almachius at 1am in the morning via WhatsApp (Almachius answered at this time!) . Everything was as we had agreed and was reliably delivered!

Overall we had one of the best experiences of our lives and will recommend Meru Slopes to our family and friends!
Thanks Max and Almachius for helping us to create such wonderful experiences and memories!

Amazing Travel
5/5

My friend and I had an incredible experience with Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris. A huge thank you to Leonard Mkwavi, our manager, who was always very responsive and organized everything perfectly.
Our driver-guide, Samwel Musangi, was absolutely brilliant. He was always there doing his absolute best for everyone, showing incredible kindness and a wonderful, positive attitude every single day. During the trip, some tensions arose with two other clients in our group (composed of my friend and I, and another couple). However, this was absolutely not the company's fault, and the team managed the situation as best as they could.
Our chef, Dwula, treated us to absolutely delicious meals throughout the entire journey!
We also want to mention Manuel, who drove us multiple times for shorter trips and took us on great excursions to Chemka Hot Springs and the Materuni Waterfalls. He was incredibly kind.
Thank you all for these unforgettable memories. 5 stars well deserved, we highly recommend them!

Wonderful, they curated an enjoyable safari experience for us!
5/5

We enjoyed our first safari experience with Meru Slopes!

Kelvin created a perfect itinerary for us to visit all the national parks in Tanzania and included a cultural village tour with a coffee experience on the last day, because we said we were interested in coffee. He was also very responsive on WhatsApp and answered our queries readily. He also constantly checked in and ensured that our tour ran smoothly and safely for the week.

Our guide Jackson Leyeyo is wonderful. He has a sharp eye and spotted the animas that we wanted to see at the safari. We were able to catch the big five in this trip thanks to him! He always gave us ample time to take pictures of the animals before filling us up on facts about the animal.

Another thing we appreciated during the tour was having hot food during lunch. It was delicious and kept us full for the duration of the game drive.

Unfortunately our jeep broke down on the second last day and we were stranded for a bit in Ngorongoro, and Jackson tried his best to fix the car. The car could not be fixed but Jackson arranged for us to join another group for the final game drive in Ngorongoro. He ensured our safety during the situation and handled the car issue while we were still able to complete the last game drive. After the game drive, Meru Slopes also arranged a private transfer to take us back to Arusha from Ngorongoro. We were very pleased with how Meru Slopes handled the situation.

Overall, we are pleased with Meru Slopes’ tour and service. It made our safari trip a truly memorable experience.

Efficient, accomodating, warm and knowledgeable. Perfect guides to the Serengeti.
5/5

Our safari with Meru Slopes was everything one could possibly imagine a great safari should be. We went for a private 8 day tour with one day at Tarangire, one day at Ngorongoro crater, two days in Central and 3 days in Western serengeti. Coordination was seamless and timely. All arrangements were top notch and as promised. Shadrack was a warm welcome to Tanzania. He was open to all our modifications to the itinerary. Our guide Muddy was the star of the show. For 7 days he was an invaluable source of information about the Serengeti. He could spot an animal in the craziest places while driving. And his driving skills were top tier. We saw many cars get stuck in the mud but we never did. Even on our way to the Grumeti airstrip where the roads were more like a suggestion and the car was always a hair's breadth away from spinning out of control, we made it safely and in time. Overall, this was the perfect gateway to safaris for us and we are already planning a return trip.

A trip of a lifetime in Tanzania - shoutout to Elly
5/5

Our group of 4 did a private 6 day safari tour and are happy to say it exceeded our expectations! First day we paid extra to go to the Materuni falls and coffee experience, which was a fun little adventure. Our guide/driver Edson was kind enough to offer a hand when some of us were struggling down the slippery paths. We then had Elly as our guide for the safari for Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Elly was extremely experienced and knew exactly where to go to find the animals. His eyesight and ability to identify animals was astounding. We were able to see the big 5 all thanks to him. He would ask us whether we had specific interests or things we wanted to see and then would customise our route accordingly. He was also very patient and considerate - he somehow managed to stay calm even when we were all screaming in the back because our fear of insects. In addition, he also made sure we were informed of the upcoming plans and had excellent time management. By the end we felt like we had a friend and were sad to say goodbye to Elly!

As for the administrative staff - Gift Tembo helped me book from start to finish and was very responsive. He would even reply in the early/late hours in Arusha and come find us to make sure everything was going all right. Even when I wanted to make small tweaks to our schedule, he would be able to make the corresponding changes immediately and provide me with updated, detailed itineraries. The hotels he chose for us were also very nice.

Thanks to the team at meru slopes, we had a great time in Tanzania and the trip felt very complete. Would highly recommend booking with them!

Once in a lifetime experience
5/5

We had an unforgettable experience with Meru Slopes Tours & Safari during our 10-day trip in Tanzania. Everything was organized professionally from start to finish, and our tour operator, Gift Tembo, made sure every detail of the trip went smoothly. He was always helpful, responsive, and genuinely cared about giving us the best experience possible. You can tell he takes pride in what he does, and that made the entire trip stress-free and enjoyable for us.

Our safari experience was absolutely incredible, and a huge thank you goes to our driver Max. His experience, patience, and knowledge of the parks were honestly impressive. He seemed to know exactly where to find the animals and always managed to put us in the perfect spots for viewing and pictures. Thanks to his sharp eyes and communication with other guides, we were able to see the entire Big Five along with many other animals up close.

Because of Max, we witnessed some unbelievable moments that felt straight out of a documentary. We saw lions mating, lions eating right next to our vehicle, and even watched lions hunt a wildebeest right in front of us.(we literally have it on video) Those are moments we will never forget, and it was clear that Max’s experience and instincts played a huge role in making those sightings happen. While other vehicles were still searching, Max always seemed one step ahead and knew exactly where to go.

Another big thank you goes to our chef, Bongue, who kept us well fed during the safari days. The food was honestly delicious and exceeded our expectations, especially while being out in the parks and campsites. Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and prepared with care, and it made the experience even more enjoyable after long game drives. Bongue did an amazing job making sure we always had great meals.

What made this trip even more special was that it was not only safari. We also did two days of hiking activities, including the beautiful Materuni waterfall hike with a coffee tour and a day trip of Kilimanjaro mountain. Those days gave us a chance to experience the local culture and nature outside of the safari parks. A big thank you to Vic and Kennedy for driving and guiding us during those days. They were friendly, professional, and made the hiking and coffee tour experience fun and comfortable.

Overall, this truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Between the safari, hiking, coffee tour, amazing landscapes, delicious food, and the incredible team from Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris, we created memories we will never forget. We highly recommend them to anyone planning a trip to Tanzania.

Unforgettable Safari – No only Big Five but More!
5/5

We had an amazing safari with Meru Slopes Tours – we were lucky enough to see the Big Five plus many other animals! Our guide Muddy was fantastic: knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly good at finding wildlife. He's a perfect guide.
We also met wonderful travel buddies during the trip, everyone was humor and easy-going, which made the whole journey even more enjoyable.
Accommodations were great overall. The only downside was dinner in Ngorongoro Serena Safari
Lodge, where we unfortunately got food poisoning.
Apart from that one issue, everything else was perfect. Highly recommended!
