Kapande was the perfect guide!
5/5

We have just finished a 5 day tour of mikumi NP and Nyerere NP. We had the most incredible time. It was perfectly organised, the accomedations we stayed in where great and we saw so many animals. Our guide Kapande was so knowledgable, friendly and funny! He also has a great relationship with hosts, rangers and other guides which meant we got tips over the radio or where the animals where spotted. We couldnt have asked for a better guide, he was determind that we saw a lion cub and didnt give up until we did!! Highly reccomend Uwanda Tours and Safari to anyone looking to experience Tanzania. And especially ask for Kapande. We will be back again in the futher, thank you!

Magical
5/5

What an amazing experience from start to finish. Our guide Kapande picked us up from our resort and drove us to our destination in a very comfortable car, providing us with water and lots of information along the way.

There really aren't enough words to explain how incredible this man is.

So knowledgeable, patient and kind.

We had went somewhat off the beaten track at one stage and found a lion sleeping under a Bush. Literally 3 feet from us.

Kapandes intuition did not stop there towards the end of the evening he said " I have a feeling we will see a lion again"

We circled back around a few times and suddenly as the sun was setting we saw a lioness with her 4 cubs feeding.

Such a magical experience.

On another long drive we found the perfect place to stop for lunch and a mango feel from a tree.

We got to eat it straight from the tree and it was beautiful.

During dinner Kapande told us he was not keen on swimming yet when he took us to a hot spring he joined us for a swim.

Again proving how much he loves delivering a great experience to his clients.

We came to the safari for experience and memories and we left with all that and a friend.

If you can somehow request to have him I guarantee your experience will be so fulfilling.

5/5

Wow! What amazing experience! We made 1 sunset safari and 1 full day. The staff onsite and from the office help us to find a solution due to a fact happened but everything was wonderful! I truly suggest to arrange the trip with Personnel and on-site staff welcomed the guest and made them self at home before and after the trip.
Guides on the field (Emili and Mkali) were professional and prepared to give an unforgettable experience and did maximum effort to see and discover animals and landscape. Absolutely and 100% recommended! Do it!

5/5

We had a wonderful safari with Mr Martin and his driver. Mr Martin is a very competent safari guide who knew a lot about the animals and he was very good in giving us all the information in a good, interresting and understandeble way. We learnt a lot about the animals and their way of living. Futhermoore he is a very nice fellow who is good in making nice friendships. So we alså laughed a lot and had a good time.

A trip of a lifetime, made perfect by our tour guide, Kapande
5/5

We booked a private 4-day safari with Uwanda Tours for our honeymoon, and it truly was the trip of a lifetime. It was our first ever safari, so we weren’t entirely sure what to expect, but the experience exceeded anything we could have imagined and is something we’ll never forget.

From the moment we were picked up early in Dar es Salaam, everything ran smoothly. The 4–5 hour drive to Nyerere National Park (half tarmac, half dirt road) was hard going, but the car was airconned and the seats were comfortable, and we were well looked after throughout. After lunch and settling into camp, we enjoyed a short village tour of Mloka followed by a beautiful river cruise where we saw hippos, crocodiles and birdlife, ending with the most stunning sunset on the riverbank.

We stayed at Selous Safari Lodge which was gorgeous – it felt luxurious yet completely in tune with its surroundings. After long days in the hot sun, it was a peaceful haven to come back to. The staff were warm and friendly, and the food was great.

Days two and three were full-day game drives in the park, and we were blown away by how much wildlife we saw: lions, wildebeest, impala, kudu, elephants, giraffes, hyenas, wild dogs, zebras, hippos, crocodiles and so much more. Seeing endangered wild dogs was a particular highlight, and learning that they’re a symbolic species for the park made it even more special.

Our favourite day was day three, which was full of unforgettable moments. We watched a hyena feeding on a fresh kill, then found a pack of wild dogs soon after. Later, we visited a natural hot spring before stopping for lunch right in the heart of the park – picnic blanket on the bonnet of the Land Rover, shaded under an acacia tree, with giraffes and baboons in the distance. It felt cinematic and a really special moment.

On the final morning there was the option of a walking tour focused on plants and insects, though we were absolutely exhausted by that point, so we gave it a miss. We were then driven back to the airport for the next leg of our honeymoon in Zanzibar.

Our tour guide and driver, Kapande, deserves special praise. He was kind, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the animals, landscapes, villages and local culture. He made us feel completely at ease, and his driving skills were exceptional – we always felt safe even when navigating muddy trenches, dried riverbeds, or steep ditches. His enthusiasm, patience and professionalism added so much to our experience.

We wouldn’t hesitate to book another safari with Uwanda Tours in a different Tanzanian national park, and we would absolutely request Kapande again.

If you’re considering a safari, we couldn’t recommend Uwanda Tours more highly.

The most amazing trip, with the best guide - Kapande
5/5

This was our first safari, and we opted for a private tour with Uwanda.
It started in Dar Es Salaam where we were met by Kapande at our hotel. He then drove us to Nyerere National Park which took around 4/5 hours. We really enjoyed travelling by 4x4, with water and Aircon and good conversation.
When we arrived at the lodge (selous safari lodge) we were greeted with the most warm and lovely team. The lodge itself was beautiful, nothing was too much of a problem and the food was delicious. We didn't spend too much time at the lodge as our days were so full on in the national park, but when we were there it was perfect to relax.
The safari itself was unforgettable. We saw everything we wanted to, lions, elephants, giraffes, wild dogs, zebra, warthogs, crocodiles, hippos, impala, hartebeests, wildebeests and so much more.
Our favourite experience was having a picnic outside of the vehicle in a large open area on the bonnet of the 4x4. We all kept an eye out for eachother, covering each others backs incase an animal was feeling a little too confident.
The tour itself was made so much more enjoyable because of Kapandes incredible knowledge of the park. Having worked across many national parks, his wildlife knowledge and good nature made it a real treat. We are even considering coming back to Tanzania to visit a different park with Kapande.

Once again, a huge thank you to Uwanda tours and Kapande. It was the trip of a lifetime.

Outstanding Safari Experience with Uwanda Tours in Nyerere National Park
5/5

Our safari with Uwanda Tours was nothing short of exceptional. From the very first enquiry, the organisation was seamless and professional, and the price was by far the most competitive we found. Naturally, we wondered whether the lower cost might mean compromises on quality, but we couldn’t have been more wrong. The experience far exceeded our expectations.

Our driver and guide, Emil and Michael, were absolutely brilliant, knowledgeable, passionate, friendly and with eyes like hawks!

Over two days we were treated to incredible sightings: lions, a beautiful leopard resting in a river bed, herds of elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, hyenas (during the day), wild dogs, and countless stunning birds. We literally saw everything the park has to offer, the only animal missing was the rhino, which simply isn’t present in Nyerere NP. The team went out of their way to make sure we had the best possible views and photo opportunities.

This was, without exaggeration, one of the most memorable experiences of our lives, two perfect days in the African wilderness that we will treasure forever. Huge thanks to Emil, Michael and the entire Uwanda team. If you’re planning a safari in Nyerere National Park, book with Uwanda, you won’t regret it! Highly, highly recommended.
