Really good safari experience with a great guide!
We had a wonderful safari experience! Our guide Modi was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and shared lots of interesting information with us. Even though we only stayed for one night, we were able to see all the animals we hoped for. Modi always knew where to look and was very attentive to our wishes.
The lodge was simple but clean and had everything we needed. It is not a luxury lodge and there is no air conditioning, so it can get a little warm in the evening, but overall it was absolutely fine.
We would definitely recommend this tour operator – the experience was very well organized and definitely worth it!

Good and Not Good
THE GOOD: The trip was well organized, booking was smooth, and communication with the salesperson was excellent. The vehicle was in good condition, and the hotel/camp was comfortable. Overall, it felt like good value for the money.
NOT SO GOOD: Unfortunately, our guide fell short. While he met the bare minimum requirements, he was completely unengaging and unfriendly. This was not our first safari, so we weren't expecting a National Geographic-level expert, but he offered no proactive information or context, giving only brief, one-sentence answers. Even trying to figure out where we were driving next felt like a struggle. Language was not an issue, as his English was fine.
OVERALL: Because a guide makes or breaks a safari experience, I cannot recommend Kentau Safari based on this trip.

Responsiveness and professional
Our experience (a family of four) was truly extraordinary. From the planning, which took place months before departure, during which we explored various options and, thanks to Dominic's excellent advice, we were able to plan a tailor-made tour (Masai Mara, Nakuru Lake, Amboseli, Tsavo, departing from Nairobi and ending in Diani Beach).
The accommodations were excellent (perhaps I would prefer a lodge at the Masai Mara rather than the good tented camp, even if it meant spending a little more). I also found the total cost and overall quality of the services to be very good.
Besides, a special mention goes to our driver. James is so much more than just a driver. While always attentive and cautious, he expresses a natural hunting instinct in the savannah. He is determined and tenacious in his pursuit of animals, and was able to show us all of them on multiple occasions.
Opting for a private tour also allowed us to manage the timing and game drives as we pleased.
When Africa will call me again I will return with Kentau Safaris.

Amazing Adventure - excellent organisation
From the moment of enquiry through to final drop off at the airport communication was excellent. The link from Safaribookings was very efficient and Dominic answered very quickly. I was nervous about booking but it was very simple and Dominic helped with all the planning and organisation as well as advice about lodge choices. Our guide Chris was fantastic. He was a safe driver and had excellent knowledge of the animals. In 2 full days and one half day in the Masai Mara we had the privilege of seeing the big 5 and so so much more. Having spoken to other people it is clear that Chris went above and beyond in terms of trying to find animals for us to view. In addition to this Chris is very friendly and easy to talk to which is important when you are spending a long time together. We intend to return!

A truly wonderful experience
We had a wonderful trip. We felt well taken care of from start to finish. Everything was very well planned, and whenever we had questions, we got a response very quickly. The guide was super friendly and taught us a lot about the country, the animals, and the culture. I would love to book my next safari trip there again.

Helpful and well-organized
I will absolutely recommend my friends and others to travel with Kentau! Dominic was nice and help us to adjust our schedule several times. Mostly, he got additional binoculars for us and adding Kibera tour in the last day on our request.
Our tour guide - Fred is also very nice and professional. He introduce not only geographical but zoological during our safari. With his experiences, he took us to get the best point to see all the animals. We really appreciate and will also recommend Kentau.

Excellent experience
We just came back from a wonderful week in Kenya with Kentau Safaris and we couldn't be happier. Our guide, Freddy, was incredibly competent, knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about wildlife. He made every game drive special and was wonderfully flexible in adapting the itinerary to our wishes and pace.
The team behind the scenes, Dominic in particular, were always responsive and accommodating from the very first contact to the last day. Nothing felt too much trouble.
