If you’re considering a safari in Tanzania, stop searching and book with Big Time Adventures. From our very first conversation until the day we reluctantly boarded our flight home, every aspect of our trip was flawlessly planned and executed.
The lodges were spectacular, every transfer was seamless, and we never once had to worry about logistics. We were free to immerse ourselves in one of the most incredible experiences of our lives because Big Time Adventures had thought of every detail.
But what truly made this trip unforgettable was our guide, Naaman.
By the end of our safari, Sean and I genuinely felt like we were leaving a son behind. That may sound like an unusual thing to say about someone you just met, but Naaman has a warmth, kindness, integrity, and quiet professionalism that made us feel cared for every single day. He wasn’t just our guide—he became family.
His knowledge of Tanzania, its wildlife, and its people is extraordinary. He could spot animals that were completely invisible to us and patiently explain not only what we were seeing, but why the animals behaved the way they did. Every game drive became an education as well as an adventure.
And then there’s his photography.
Naaman has an uncanny gift for photography. Time after time he positioned the vehicle perfectly, anticipated animal behavior before it happened, and helped us capture photographs that we never imagined possible. Many of our favorite images—the kind that belong framed on a wall rather than sitting on a phone—exist because of his incredible eye, patience, and instinct.
Every day somehow managed to surpass the last. We witnessed breathtaking wildlife, stunning landscapes, and unforgettable moments that we will treasure for the rest of our lives.
Big Time Adventures doesn’t simply organize safaris—they create deeply personal experiences that stay with you long after you’ve returned home. We left Tanzania with extraordinary memories, thousands of photographs, and a lifelong affection for the country and its people.

Absolutely brilliant!
The Big Time Adventures team are absolutely wonderful. We really valued their family style care and attention to detail. Naaman our driver in Tanzania was WONDERFUL and Nelson worked with us to create an itinerary that suited our needs and budget perfectly. We even lost our bags and they helped us sort getting them back to us ASAP and dealt with all the admin so we could enjoy our safari. We also used them to plan our adventures in Zanzibar after safari and that was just as smooth sailing. Honestly couldn’t recommend them more highly to everyone. I am over the moon with the experience we had with Big Time Adventures for a once in a lifetime trip that meant so much to us. So so grateful - thank you to the whole team!

The Big time team Naaman, Nelson , and the office team we all amazing , they even help recover our lost luggage 3 days in to the Safari ... communication with the Airline to sort it all out , Naaman the guide was so incredible he knowledge was amazing he was so friendly and informative and such a great guy. Nelson would ring up every few days to check how things were if all was ok , they even organized or excursions in Zanzibar through a partner company any they were also great. I can really not say enough good things about the Big time team i would fully and with out a doubt use them again if i return with out hesitation and recommend anybody should do also.

I couldn't imagine booking with anyone else - above and beyond expectations in every way
Our Safari was very difficult to plan, we were booking with a terminally ill member of our group which meant we needed to be as flexible as possible - we wanted to book hotels and flights ourselves with cancellation to ensure that in the worse case scenario (all of us not being able to go) we could recoup as much money as possible or move dates etc.
This approach was met with an immediate no from most of the tour providers that we contacted, but not Big Time Adventures. Nelson & the team ended up being pretty much the only people that would entertain this and were as helpful as possible the entire time. Our decision to go with Big Time pretty much came down to this however that was just the start.
Our bags ended up getting left in Nairobi by the airline and the team at Big Time Adventures were there at the airport to assist, calling the airports and arranging two separate drives to collect our luggage from Kilimanjaro and bring it to us near the Serengeti when our bags eventually arrived. In the meantime they also provided us with some shirts and our driver took us to a supermarket to grab some basics. They were there at any point and constantly checked in to make sure we were ok and offer updates. The service was unbelievable.
The safari itself was incredible. 9 days from Tarangire to Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro crater, and all the way over to the western Serengeti. our driver Naaman managed to find all the big 5 (and just about every animal out there I think) and is also just a fantastic person. He started out the holiday as our guide but finished as a friend.
Big Time Adventures arranged all of our extra activities (Hot Air Balloons, Canoeing etc) and even booked our end of safari trip to Zanzibar (that we were planning on just trying to sort ourself). They were a huge help and made us feel like nothing was too much to ask.
On top of all of this, they even flew out to meet us in Zanzibar on our last day just to check everything went well and to say goodbye.
There is a real family vibe with the company and they can't do enough to help. It's incredibly rare to find a company that does everything right, I hope they continue to grow and grow but keep this incredible customer service. If anyone reading this is worried about booking with Big Time Adventures - don't be!

I randomly chose Bigtime Adventures from Safari bookings as it suited our requirements. The big team was very helpful in arranging our itinerary and accommodated our last minute request for night time safari game drive.
The tour was well arranged. Mr Mallack, our guide and driver was excellent and made our trip memorial. The team were very attentive from start to airport drop off. Although, small tour operator. I highly recommend them.

Top Tier provider, efficient, professional and worth every penny!
Amazing experince from beginning to end! All of the guides and drivers were friendly, professional and made sure my happiness and experience was top priority. If I was curious about something they would go out of their way to help my see, taste, or experience it. Damien was an amazing safari guide! He networked with other guides and I saw all of the Big 5 plus some amazing extras within 2 days! I split my safari with a few day in Zanzibar and the airport transition was smooth, Sara was super sweet and there to pick me up and coordinate all of my activities. All of the food I had during this trip was good, but the hotel in Zanzibar (Milele Villas) was top tier beautiful and some of the best food I've ever had.🔥 I went with this tour company after a coworker of mine did a solo female tour and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a personally tailored experience.

Excellent service, flexible and straight for
I had a few hours free in Arusha, just six! After three days of conferences. Didn’t want to leave the country without exploring this magic nature. Asked and got a contact with Nelson from Big time. In just a couple of hours late at night he was able to organise a custom safari just for me to Arusha national park at a very convenient price for the following day.
My guide Richard was amazing. A fantastic professional who loves wildlife, extremely polite, nice and funny.
They organised me a drive to Arusha national Park, a walking safari with a Rocky a fantastic ranger where we walked into a giraffes family and other wildlife up to a waterfall.
Then we had a nice lunch closed to the see with Richard visiting the lakes, seeing monkeys, buffalo’s, zebras, more giraffes and finally elephants. Very close, extremely nice and Mount Meru splendid views.
I have done many safaris around Africa and for sure one of the best agencies I ever met. Ashanti!
