Migsam Safaris is a locally owned and licensed Tanzanian tour operator based in Arusha. We specialize in private, tailor-made safaris throughout Tanzania, including wildlife journeys, Great Migration safaris, family holidays, honeymoons, photographic safaris, Kilimanjaro climbs and safari-and-Zanzibar combinations.
Our story is deeply connected to Tanzania. Migsam Safaris was founded by Simon, who was born in the Mara Region near the Serengeti ecosystem. After gaining more than ten years of firsthand experience in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro areas, he created Migsam Safaris to share Tanzania through the knowledge and hospitality of local people. The name “Migsam” carries a personal family connection, inspired by his grandfather and father.
We understand that every traveler is different. Some guests want to witness the Great Migration, while others dream of seeing the Big Five, introducing their children to Africa, celebrating a honeymoon or combining a private safari with time on Zanzibar’s beaches. Our team listens carefully before recommending a route, allowing us to create an itinerary that matches each guest’s interests, travel dates, preferred comfort level and budget.
Our safaris are led by knowledgeable local guides who understand Tanzania’s wildlife, landscapes, seasons and cultures. They do more than drive from one destination to another. They interpret animal behaviour, select rewarding game-drive areas and adjust each day according to wildlife movements and the interests of their guests. Italian- and Spanish-speaking guides can also be arranged upon request and subject to availability.
We carefully select lodges and tented camps based on their location, comfort, service and value. Our guests travel in private 4×4 safari vehicles with pop-up roofs, window seats and drinking water during game drives. From the first inquiry until the final airport transfer, our office and operations teams remain available to assist with accommodation, domestic flights, transfers and other practical arrangements.
