Great safari to Masai Mara
4/5

I was quite confused about the array of safaris available to the Masai Mara. John answered my numerous questions, and the price compared favourably with other group safaris, so I chose CKC Tours. I joined a 3-day group safari in May.
Our driver, Kikitu, was always cheerful and nice and great at finding wildlife, and generally informing us about the wildlife, history of the places we travelled through etc.
The Masai Mara National Reserve is beautiful. We saw the Big Five all before 10 a.m. on the first full day there! And then many more animals. It's a long and bumpy journey from Nairobi, but well worth it. And the sunrise makes it worthwhile getting up early!

A trip to Mt Kenya Safari club and Ol-pa -Jeta Conservancy
4/5

The organization was extremely smooth, hassle free and providing value for money. The guide, was neat, time conscious and just amazing. We got a day at Ol-pa-jeta, and he understand the game drive....The wildest was the chase at dawn to spot a lion, and wow we got him! Well done, CKC, a repeat purchase soon!

Better than expected
4/5

We've spent wonderful time in Masai Mara organized by this company. Communication and arrangements were made by email and it worked well. The only thing was that after arrival to the lodge they required some document or voucher which we didn't get from tour operator, however it took only few minutes of waiting and everything was perfect afterwards.

Right from booking to receiving at airport and completing the tour they have very good experienced operators. Well behaved having good experience about their route and wild animals.
Overall we have taken their services at least 5 times in last 8 years and planning again this year.

Long days waiting for overstretched drivers
2/5

Dismayed to discover everyone in our jam-packed car was staying in different hotels rather far apart. That meant >1h every morning, afternoon, and evening to pick up and drop off one by one. Extremely long days (before 6h to beyond 20h) for the driver and the unlucky folks who were the first to be picked and the last to be dropped, often in traffic, day after day. Dismayed again to see the car was lacking safety belts, a door didn't work, the shocks were bad... dismayed yet again to discover we and many others were being shuffled from one driver to the next, waiting long hours on the side of the road for the driver and all the passengers to arrive from all different directions. One car was so overloaded the driver even had to leave luggage and come back for it after passengers were dropped off. The poor fellows do their best, calling each other, planning ahead, playing Tetris between all the various tour agencies dumping passengers on them, and they do a surprisingly good job given the circumstances, but it's no thanks to the agency. It seems to matter little which agent you book with. I imagine in high season there's enough cars turning around the country that you'll mostly be with people in the same hotel, and if part or all of your trip is to less frequented parks you might have less than a jam-packed car (as we did for the last leg of our week). If you want to be sure of a relaxed experience and some breathing room, book a private safari.
