Trip of a lifetime
We booked a safari through Tanzania Choice Safaris for our honeymoon in September 2026. It ended up being the trip of a lifetime and we’d book again with them in a heartbeat.
Brenda and her team were very helpful and responsive during the planning process. She listened closely on the planning call to what was important to us. From there, we basically sat back and relaxed as they planned an amazing trip, all we had to do was show up.
We are convinced that our safari guide, Leslie, is the BEST guide driving around out there. He has a deep knowledge of the wildlife and had an answer to all of the countless questions we asked throughout the trip. He is also extremely skilled at maneuvering the Land Cruiser into ideal positions for wildlife viewing. Even when there were 10+ cars parked trying to see the same leopard, lions, rhinos, elephants, etc, Leslie always managed to get us into a position where we had a clear view of the action without ever feeling like we were disturbing the animals or blocking the views of other cars on safari. It was truly impressive.
There was one moment in the Serengeti where he heard over the radio that there was a leopard, so we drove over and found 20 vehicles already stopped trying to get a glimpse of a Leopard walking through tall grass. Leslie asked us to trust him and drove about 200 meters down the road where there were no vehicles and we stopped in front of a tree that he thought looked promising. Five minutes later, the leopard emerged from the bush and stalked right past our car. We were blown away and the rest of the vehicles rushed over. We felt very lucky to have been parked there, but in reality, it was Leslie’s skill as a guide that got us such an up close encounter. And as if that wasn’t enough, we happened to be parked right in front of two gazelles resting in the shade that we hadn’t noticed and had a front row view of the leopard leaping out and killing one of them for it’s meal. Truly a once in a lifetime experience.
On top of Leslie’s skills as a guide, he is genuinely a kind and funny person. My wife and I both considered him a friend by the end of the trip and still miss him.
We went into the trip consciously trying to limit our expectations about what we would see and just be happy with whatever the bush decided to show us. We went home with a camera roll filled with every type of a wildlife and animal behavior you could imagine when thinking about an African safari. I’m waiting on a response from David Attenborough to narrate because I swear we have enough footage to sell a full length wildlife documentary to National Geographic.
A safari trip is not cheap, but we feel that our money was well spent. Truly the trip of a lifetime and I’m worried future travel will never feel the same due to the high-bar set by Leslie, Brenda, and the whole Tanzania Choice Safari team. If we ever make it back to Tanzania, I have no doubt we will book through Tanzania Choice Safaris again and I’d encourage anyone reading this to work with them if you want to ensure you have an unforgettable trip to Tanzania.

Our tour operators did everything possible to make sure our safari was as promised.
Our experience was easy and fulfilling. All of our needs were taken care of in a safe, reliable and friendly manner. We saw SO MANY animals, in large part due to the experience of our guides. They worked hard to make sure we were enjoying ourselves, often checking in with us to make sure we were having fun.

Fantastic trip! A great blend of observing animal behavior and learning about Tanzania culture.
This safari experience far exceeded our expectations. The tour was flexible and Brenda was responsive to our questions and provided options for us to customize our trip. Our tour guide, Kakasii, was highly experienced and knowledgeable and we loved that he shared our excitement and thrill with seeing all the animals. We appreciated his explanations and his patience allowed us to observe wildlife behaviors up close. We felt we were given plenty of time to take photos, identify animals, and ask questions. The accommodations were excellent including the remote mobile bush camps. We included several cultural visits which enhanced our experience by learning about the people of Tanzania. Spending time in Zanzibar at the end of the safari was a relaxing way to end the trip. We highly recommend this tour with Tanzania Choice Safaris!!

Exceeded All Expectations
From the moment we were picked up at the airport, our experience was outstanding. Our driver navigated the construction-filled roads safely and with ease, setting a positive tone for the trip from the very beginning.
Throughout our journey, we thoroughly enjoyed every accommodation. We especially appreciated the variety, from luxurious tented camps to beautiful lodges, each offering a unique and memorable experience.
The safari itself was nothing short of amazing. Leslie was our guide, and his knowledge was exceptional. He generously shared insights on everything from big cats to reptiles and all the wildlife in between, always providing fascinating information that enhanced every game drive. Beyond his expertise, Leslie's friendly personality made the experience even more enjoyable. He engaged our group in great conversations, shared plenty of laughs, and made everyone feel welcome.
Leslie also demonstrated an impressive knowledge of Tarangire, Ngorongoro, and the Central Serengeti. It often felt as though he was taking us to hidden gems, allowing us to enjoy incredible wildlife encounters away from the larger crowds. We were incredibly fortunate with both the variety and abundance of wildlife we saw. While some of that is undoubtedly luck, Leslie worked tirelessly to find and show us as much as possible, and his skill and dedication clearly contributed to our remarkable experience.
As a company, Tanzania Choice exceeded our expectations. Communication was excellent throughout the planning process, and they worked closely with us to create the best possible itinerary for our group. Their vehicle was exceptionally well maintained, and every member of their staff we encountered was professional, friendly, and helpful.
We have already recommended Tanzania Choice to several friends and would do so without hesitation. The cost was very reasonable given the exceptional level of service, expertise, and accommodations we received.
