It far exceeded our expectations!
We went on a 6-day safari through Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Lake Manyara. It was an incredible experience. We chose to go with Meruslopes after doing a lot of research online. It's a local company, which made us even more confident in our choice.
Our guide Paul was attentive throughout the entire trip, making sure we were able to see, photograph, and film the animals without being surrounded by other jeeps. He always found the best angles to spot the wildlife and was very persistent in helping us see as many species as possible. We saw more animals than we ever imagined.
He also explained a lot about the wildlife, the country’s culture, and local way of life. Gideon was our chef — the food was delicious and plentiful. He cooked local specialties and adapted everything to our dietary restrictions without any problem.
We would definitely repeat the experience with them.
Asante sana Paul and Gideon!
Superb, it ticked all our expectations.
I organized an 8 day safari to Northern Tanzania for my classmates and friends. I scrutinized most of the tour companies in Tanzania specifically for safaris, got
quotations, read their terms, checked reviews from tripadvisor. I singled out Meru Slopes and I was not disappointed including the 30 other participants .Communication before the trip with Kelvin Bonith was easy and he responded easily. The owner who is a native Tanzanian Geoffrey was kind and accommodating, all the 5 drivers with Mohammed or Midu did their very best to give us a lifetime safari experience. We saw all the animals we wanted to see except the shy and elusive rhino. The icing on the cake was the Wildebeest Mara Crossing .Choose Meru Slopes for your safari and other tours in Tanzania. Support locally owned tour companies.

helpful, kind
The experience was truly magnificent. Our ranger was truly helpful and kind, and shared so much interesting information with us. The trip was explained clearly, and the team is very well organized. The chef also always prepared delicious meals. We were lucky enough to see all five of the Big Five, as well as many other wild animals. I highly recommend going on safari with them.

Alan took such good care of us, drove expertly through the parks, and knew all the best places!
Our 5 night, 6 day private tour through Tarangire, Ngorogoro, and Serengeti
Parks was stupendous. We endured the bumps and the dust for the ultimate enjoyment of connecting with the elephants, lions, cheetahs, buffalo, giraffes, wildebeest, and so much more.
At first we signed up for the budget group tour, but we were so happy to upgrade! For a little extra, we were pampered and spoiled by all the personal attention and comfort available… well worth it!

Great safari with passionate guides
Went with a mate for a safari trip (6 days) and hiking Kilimanjaro ( 2days) . We really liked the safari - was well organised and got to see the big 5. Our safari guide Nuru was awesome and really passionate about his job - made the experience really fun when the guide is keen and looking out for the animals! Unfortunately we didn’t see the migration despite camping there for the full day - the wilder beasts didn’t seem to want to cross that day. 2 nights in the Serengeti was definitely the right call and camping overnight was something else - seeing elephants close to our camps and hearing distant lion roars at dawn.
We had a small hiccup on our hiking trip - we were supposed to have an overnight camp but the park rules changed and didn’t allow short camps. This was unfortunate and we didn’t find out until the gate due to the admin mismatch but our guide worked with us to provide a very reasonable refund for the missed portion of the itenary - and provided alternative activities to explore the town nearby instead.
Loved the experience overall - and shoutout to our guide organisers (Gift) and safari guide Nuru.
