Reliable
We had a great experience on safari in Tanzania. Our tour guide James was kind, reliable, and knowledgeable. We got to see so many beautiful landscapes and animals! Amazing experience! We especially loved our stay in the Serengeti at one of the mobile camps. My regret was that we should have stayed for at least 1 or 2 more night since the treck out there is quite bumpy and dusty.

A small tour company that provides great memories!
What an amazing safari we had! Paul was great at organising everything we needed, from being picked up at our Hotel in Zanzibar to the flights, safari options and dietary requirements I had requested.
Our safari guide Gadiel was simply amazing! Such a friendly guy who made us feel very welcome and had lots of knowledge of the animals and nature. He had a lot of knowledge of the Birdlife we saw which was really interesting! We had an amazing close up encounter with a lioness who walked around our jeep and then 3 elephants who were play fighting right by us but Gadiel knew what signs to look out for if he needed to move the jeep away which made us feel very safe!
The accommodation at Octagon lodge was charming, the food delicious and the staff there were first class!
Overall, the trip was great value for money! We had the most wonderful safari with memories that will last us a lifetime and we would highly recommend this local company for your safari choice!

Couldn't have been better
We engaged with Tanzania Roadside Expeditions about booking a couples safari (just the two of us in the vehicle with the guide) after reading good reviews online. They promptly answered every email and were extremely reassuring for safari 'newbies'.
They guided on booking an overnight hotel in Zanzibar and the types of accommodation available whilst on safari.
Payment was secure and quickly confirmed. They weren't the cheapest but neither were they the most expensive.
They picked us up on time at our hotel and drove us to the airport.
On arrival in Arusha the charming Ezekiel was waiting for us. What a lovely guy - smiling, welcoming, happy.
Everything went smoothly during our four-day safari - we stopped whenever we wanted to stop - nothing was too much trouble.
Accommodation was as described/booked and Ezekiel ensured that we were checked in and had agreed on a start time before heading off for the night to his quarters. He was on time every day and happy to assist us in what we thought we wanted to get out of the day, using his vast experience to tailor our expectations with the reality on the ground. His animal spotting ability was astounding, and his use of the CB radio was perfect for positioning us where we needed to be.
Tour was better than we could even have expected - what majestic scenery and a plethora of animals to view.
On arrival back in Arusha we were dropped right at the check in desks.
Tanzania Roadside Expeditions are well deserving of their glowing online references and we are very happy to add our recommendation to the list.

Excellent and highly organised - recommend
Everything was perfect! The trip was very well organised, including the accommodation that exceeded our expectations. The agency was very responsive throughout the booking process, the trip and after. Our driver Gadi was amazing throughout the trip - he was friendly, listened to what we wanted and made a lot of effort to ensure we maximised the time in the park / Ngorongoro. Highly recommend!

Our trip was very well arranged and everything went smoothly
Fantastic safari tour in Kenya and Tanzania. Our guide Walter was very knowledgeable and excellent at getting us to the right places to see everything. The lodges and hotels were beautiful and the food was wonderful. I now have lots of photos that show why Africa is a great place to visit.

Excellent from start to finish. Memorable once in a lifetime holiday
This entire tour with Tanzania Roadside Expedition was excellent. My partner and I did Taragine National Park, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, staying at the serena lodges. From start to finish, Paul the CEO of the company, was exceptional. His communication was very professional and he was always very quick to reply (email or whatsapp). He answered all of our questions, made any of our changes as we requested and created a trip for us that was very tailored. Paul also contacted the lodges in advance to make sure our dietary requirements (vegetarian and allergies) were catered for. He was also very accommodating to how we wanted to pay as it was initially slightly daunting to be transferring money internationally to Tanzania from the Uk ( we did half bank transfer, half in cash on arrival). Our guide, Ezekiel Massai was brilliant! He was very friendly, laid-back and we had a wonderful time with him. Ezekiel was also very knowledgeable with all the animals, allowed us to capture amazing photography. We feel like we have gained a friend after this trip! We were lucky to see the big 5 animals however also appreciated that this is down to chance as ultimately we are in natures environment! If we could do this trip again, we would do it in a heartbeat. We recommend this company fully, Paul and Ezekiel Masai were fantastic and the overall standard and ethos of this company is exceptional. Book!!

A truly experienced, professional safari + company - a pleasure to travel with/highly recommend
Friends had recommended Roadside Tanzania as one of the best locally based Tanzania safari operators, but they are not just that- the standard of service, the standard of the accomodation booked, the transfers, the flights and all the 'little things' way exceeded our expectations.
After personally meeting Paul in Arusha who outlined our trip schedule, we spent 4 days on safari in Tarangire, Manyara and the Ngorongoro crater with our excellent and very knowledgeable guide, Justin. The wildlife was in full flow and every day was different and truly magical in its own way.
With all transfer and internal flight arrangements booked via and handled by, Roadside Tanzania we then had a few days at the Z hotel on Zanzibar Island- great food / great room.
This trip combo is not unusual, but Paul, Kasim, Justin and the transfer drivers certainly made our experience feel totally unique- no question or request was too much trouble. Such dedication to good organization and service is often hard to come by these days, but Roadside Tanzania are on-point - we wholeheartedly recommend choosing them if you are looking to travel to Tanzania for an safari + experience that you will treasure forever
