We had a truly remarkable six-day safari experience exploring the Northern Circuit of Tanzania with Hekima Safaris everything exceeded our expectations!
From the very beginning, the communication was clear and professional. Jackson, the Head of Operations, provided us with detailed and helpful information to plan our trip perfectly. John, the Reservation Manager, was responsive and ensured all logistics and bookings were handled smoothly.
Our guide, Faraji, was exceptional extremely knowledgeable about wildlife and the parks, patient, and always made sure we were comfortable. Thanks to him, we had incredible sightings across Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro. His passion for nature and warm personality truly elevated our journey.

I came across Hekima by takling to a friend of mine who did the trip some years ago.
Doing Safari in Africa was always something me and my wife wanted to experience, and we decided to do it for our honeymoon. And what an unforgettable experience it was.
We really had high expectations for this trip and it ended up surpassing them, and Hekima Safaris had a lot to do with that.
All members of the personnel were always really kind and attentive. And a special shout out to our driver Amani (I hope I'm spelling it right). If he's assign to you, believe me when I say you are in good hands.
They are also really flexible, and they customize and adjust the plan based on your preferences without any issues. They even went the extra mile quite a few times. I can tell from my experience that they treat their customers really well.
We enjoy everything of the Safari, from the first to the last day. Each day exceeded our most ambitious expectations, and all have unforgettable moments.

Amazing
We had the most incredible 7-day safari experience with Hekima Safaris, and we can’t recommend them highly enough! From start to finish, everything was smooth, professional, and full of unforgettable moments.
Our guide, Juma, was absolutely outstanding — knowledgeable, kind, and incredibly passionate about wildlife. He had an incredible eye for spotting animals and always made sure we were in the perfect spot for the best views and photos. Thanks to him, we saw the Big Five, countless other species, and learned so much along the way!
Juma’s calm energy, great sense of humor, and deep knowledge of the parks (especially Serengeti and Ngorongoro) made each day an adventure in itself. He was patient with all our questions, flexible with the itinerary, and always went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and happy.

Unforgettable, beyond-expectation adventures with guides who make every moment magical
I recently returned from a 5-day safari with Hekima Safaris, and I can honestly say it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. My friend and I arrived with high expectations, and every single one of them was exceeded, many times over.
From the moment we were picked up to the very last day, everything was organised to perfection. Our guides, Ole and Baraka, were exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, and passionate about what they do. They made sure we didn’t just see the wildlife, but truly experienced it.
The trip was packed with breathtaking moments: seeing lions up close, watching elephants roam freely, spotting rare birds, and witnessing stunning sunrises and sunsets over the savannah. The accommodations were comfortable, the food was delicious, and the itinerary was perfectly balanced..
It was also fantastic value for money, the quality of service, the experiences we had, and the attention to detail far exceeded what we had hoped for. If I could, I would do this safari over and over again. And if I ever go on another safari, I wouldn’t even consider going with anyone else; it would be Hekima Safaris every time.

Exceptional adventure
We had a superb safari with the team: Freddy, our driver and guide, and Baraka, our chef.
We chose a private safari to fully enjoy the adventure, and we were not disappointed. The food was perfect, thank you Baraka!
The accommodations were excellent: one night in a lodge, followed by incredible experiences in tents, sleeping in the savannah, surrounded by wild animals.
Upon our arrival and return from the safari, we stayed at Hekima House, where Shannel gave us a warm welcome and with whom we had a wonderful time.
Upon departure, we even shared a friendly drink with the Hekima House team.

Mixed Experience - Communication Needs Serious Improvement
We booked a mid-range safari with Hekima Safaris after reading many positive reviews, and while there were some great aspects to our experience, we were also disappointed in several areas.
We made our booking early in February for a September safari, specifically because of the positive feedback about Hekima going above and beyond for their customers. However, communication from the company was lacking throughout the process.
Two days before our arrival in Kenya, I messaged Hekima to confirm our airport pickup and overall itinerary, but received no response. As we were flying all the way from Australia, this caused significant anxiety — especially given the common warnings about scams. Even during our layover in Mumbai, I messaged again, only to see the message was read with no reply. Out of concern, I contacted the hotel we were due to stay at in Nairobi to confirm our reservation. While they did have a booking under our name, Hekima had not yet paid, so the hotel staff said it wasn’t guaranteed.
Eventually, after we landed in Nairobi around 5:40 AM, Hekima responded and provided a contact for our pickup.
We also learned at breakfast that Hekima had sent an external guide to pick us up, as the staff members were away on another safari. This gave us the impression that our safari may have been overlooked or forgotten, despite our early booking.
Communication after our deposit was made became noticeably slower, whereas responses before payment were immediate. This shift in engagement was disappointing.
However, we were especially disappointed with the guide in the Serengeti. He did not make an effort to connect with us, and we felt like the "going above and beyond" service we read about in reviews was not true in our case. The guide seemed disinterested and did not engage with us or go the extra mile to enhance our experience. He did mention he hadn't slept but there was plenty of time to sleep and rest after coming back from game drives in the evening.
At times, we felt uncomfortable asking for a few extra moments to enjoy the sunrise or take in the animals, as if we were inconveniencing him.
There were also issues with accommodation changes not being communicated in advance. One of the lodges we were taken to was not the one we had booked, and it did not meet mid-range standards – dirty showers and poor food. On another day, the same thing happened again, but thankfully, the alternate lodge was significantly better.
That said, there were definitely many positives too — don’t get me wrong. The guides made sure we saw all the animals we wanted to see, including the Big Five. The lodges (with the exception of one uncommunicated change) were fantastic, with great food and comfortable amenities.
On the day we were flying out, we were told by the airline that our flight was actually departing from a different airport. Jackson and Benard rushed back immediately, picked us up, and drove as fast as they could to the correct airport. This really helped us, and we can’t thank them enough for saving the day.
Overall, the safari had its highlights — and we especially want to give a big shoutout to Jackson for his support and professionalism. But unfortunately, due to poor communication, last-minute changes, and a lack of attentiveness at times, we can’t give Hekima the 5-star rating we had really hoped to.
There is definite potential here — but improvements in communication and customer care are needed.
