Amazing experience!
5/5

Our safari with African traits was full of everything we had hoped for. First we were skeptical booking a safari online from across the world, but Godfrey and the African Traits team had great communication with us through the whole process. The safari was incredible, our guide Charles was an absolute joy to be with and had so much knowledge about all animals and areas we visited, mission accomplished! Our chef Yamale was fantastic! The food he cooked throughout our trip was always a pleasure and we looked forward to it every day! So much fun, and would recommend to anyone looking to go on safari in Tanzania. Lastly they picked us up and dropped us off at the airport from two different cities (Arusha and Moshi) thank you Nelson and lastly Martha. A trip of a lifetime with a great company. I look forward to showing off my safari boots when I get home. Asante!

Very good service, awesome vegan food
5/5

We booked a four day Safari to Ngorogoro crater (1 Day) and Serengeti (3 days) with dropoff at Lake Victoria for two people. Our guide, Mbaga and our cook Habibu did an amazing job and made it an unforgettable experience. Mbaga, is a good driver and experienced and knowlegdable Safari guide. He is well connected with other guides and always gave 100% to make sure we get the most out of our trip. We saw all the animals we had hoped to see on this Safari. We want to mention that we eat vegan, which was absolutely no problem for Habibu and we had the best variety of vegan dishes on our whole 3 week Tanzania trip during these four day of Safari with African traits. The manager Godfrey is very professional. He helped us out on short notice, when we had to cancle a Safari we had booked with a competitor. He drove all the way from Arusha to Migombani camp site to make a contract with us there. Contract and equipment were very good. We also like the branding efforts (everything from pillows to water bottles on the tour carries the company logo). We had a special request: to make our nights more comfortable we asked for cots instead of simple mattresses to be put into the tent we had on public camp sites. It was absolutely no problem for African traits to organize that on short notice for some extra payment (+40 USD). Unlike other tourists we met on the public camp sites, we never had to build up our tent ourselves. African traits made sure that it always already was ready when we arrived at the site.

Adventure of a Lifetime
5/5

I selected African Traits for my first visit to Tanzania with my 24 year old son. The owner Godfrey was extremely responsive from the start accommodating my request for adjustments to the itinerary and multiple questions. We did a (7) day Kilimanjaro climb via the Lemosho route which was absolutely beautiful and we reached the summit as planned thanks to our guides insistence on "pole pole". The climbing team including porters, guides and chef we friendly and fun to be with and we learned a lot about Tanzania, Kilimanjaro and a bit of Swahili along the way which was awesome!. Gear and food were all very adequate along the way in fact I have never eaten so well on any on my longer term climbs or hikes. Following the climb we did a (2) day safari at Tarangire and Ngorongoro which were incredible. We opted for lodge accommodations after spending six nights in a tent and were very please with the Masailand Lodge in Arusha post climb and Farm House Lodge in Karatu. In a short two day period our guide was able to help us view the "big five" and simply enjoy the beautify of Tanzania, some of its music and culture. I would definitely recommend African Traits for your trip to Tanzania and I hope we can make plans to visit again!

Excellent service, good food and sense of safety in all things
5/5

We had a fantastic experience on our Safari which was operated by the company African Traits. The guide Noel a.k.a Ice Cube, showed us the best spots and worked really hard for us to be able to se the big five, which we did. His connections with other guides in the national parks gave us great advantages in the search for the rarest of animals. Also, his and our chef's service minds made the experience complete. 5 stars!

The pre information we recieve from Godfrey at AFT after booking made us feel comfortable that we made the right choice when choosing our tour operator. According to our guide, Godfrey also made sure there weren't any problems with different permits at the parks. Thank you!

Extra plus to Chicho who picked us up at Kilimanjaro airport and waited many hours on the delayed flight. He also made sure we had dinner, even though all restaurants were closed. Our chef, Jamali, also deserves extra credit for his great cooking abilities.

I can highly recommend African Traits as a Safari operator.

Incredible!!!!
5/5

I recently travelled to Tanzania solo and didn’t have much time to spare so pre booked everything with African Traits. I was blown away with how smoothly everything run from the moment I enquired and throughout my whole time there. I completed my Kilimanjaro trek and a 4 day safari. All prices included pick up from bus, hotel pre trek and post trek and hotel after safari as well as airport transfer. Hotels were amazing! And even finished my trek a day early and they had organised an extra night at the hotel before I went on safari at their cost!
Godfrey was easily contactable throughout whole experience via what’s up answering any questions or queries!! Couldn’t recommended this company more!!!!

Great 3-day hike of Mount Meru
5/5

We had an absolutely wonderful time doing a 3-day hike of Mt. Meru with African Traits. It was a terrific, shorter alternative to climbing Kili, and had breathtaking views of that famous summit throughout our climb. From the get-go, Godfrey was extremely responsive to all our email requests. He answered all of the questions we had about the trip. We were going to be doing some other travel in East Africa, and were unable to bring sleeping bags or hiking poles with us--Godfrey generously offered to provide us with these at no charge! In addition, his pricing was some of the most competitive of the number of companies I looked at.

When it came to the actual hike, our team did a marvelous job. Our guide John got us safely to the summit of Meru, making sure we never went to fast and exposed ourselves to altitude sickness (pole-pole!). Our cook Martin made us awesome and filling meals--impressive given that all equipment had to be packed up a mountain! And our porters Portie, Polo, and Patcha were also very friendly and helpful; the trip wouldn't have been possible without them!

Godfrey even made the effort to meet us as we were on our way to the airport. He wanted to make sure everything went well for our hike. He clearly takes pride in the work of his company and his employees, and his hard work shows in the experience he delivers to his guests. We won't hesitate to book with African Traits for our next trip to Tanzania!

Wonderful 7 days of Safari at Tarangere, Serengeti, Lake Manyara, Ngorongorong and Arusha NP
5/5

We had own apprehensions about Tanzanian Safari in general because our travel agent back in India had very recently entered into tours and travels business. The cost of Tanzanian Safari was too good to be true. Also there is not many websites here from India that offers Tanzanian Safari and often don't disclose finer details about their Safari partners.

We did visit our travel agent's office in India couples of times to get some confidence. Later we mailed African Traits and told them that we will make the payment only once we reach Tanzania and get acquainted with them.

It was nice to see African Traits responding to every mail of ours and accepting requests and answering all our questions.

We had a wonderful time during our 7 days of Safari at Tarangere, Serengeti, Lake Manyara, Ngorongorong and Arusha National Park and Noel our Safari Guide/Driver was really nice. We had a good cook who asked for our suggestion everyday on what needs to be cooked.

We are vegetarians and it did make cook's life difficult because of constrained menu. But he was co-operative enough to cook us vegetarian food every meal. We had also got some homemade food and instant food; which the cook was happy to heat/boil every time we asked for.

On our final day we met African Traits manager who took our feedback and was courteous enough to provide us complementary luxury accommodation for freshening up before boarding our late night flight.

I will definitely recommend African Traits to everyone.
