INCREDIBLE THANKS TO TIKO
5/5

Our safari experience was absolutely unforgettable, and a huge part of that is thanks to Tiko, our incredible guide.

From the very beginning, Tiko was kind, patient, attentive, understanding, and incredibly professional. His knowledge of wildlife is impressive: he explained so many fascinating things about every animal we encountered, their behavior, their habits, and the environment around us. He never simply pointed out an animal — he helped us understand what we were seeing, making every encounter feel even more special.

Thanks to him, we were lucky enough to see all the animals we had dreamed of seeing, but by the end of the safari we realized that the animals were only one part of what made this experience so extraordinary.

One thing Tiko told us really stayed in our hearts: the beauty of a safari is not only about seeing animals, but also about creating connections with the people you meet along the way. And this is exactly what he did with us.

Tiko has an amazing ability to make people feel comfortable and involved. He didn’t make us feel like tourists following a standard itinerary; he made us feel like guests discovering his world. He shared his knowledge, his stories, his culture and even showed us his city and a little piece of his everyday life. This gave our journey a completely different meaning and made the experience feel much more authentic and personal.

He also gave us the opportunity to experience a Maasai village, which was another incredibly meaningful moment for us. It wasn’t simply another stop during the trip: it was a chance to discover a different culture, meet people, learn about their traditions and see a reality completely different from our own.

Throughout the safari, Tiko managed to make us feel like two children discovering the world for the first time. Every new animal, every landscape and every moment became exciting because his enthusiasm was contagious. He was always ready to explain something, answer our questions, make us laugh and make sure we were enjoying every second.

What impressed us most about Tiko is not only how knowledgeable he is, but also how intelligent, thoughtful and genuinely passionate he is about his work. You can immediately understand that, for him, being a guide is not simply about driving people around and showing them wildlife. He understands that a safari is about emotions, memories, human connections and discovering a world that is completely different from your own.

And that is exactly what he gave us.

There are many beautiful things we will remember from this safari — the animals, the landscapes, the excitement of spotting wildlife and the incredible African nature — but one of our strongest memories will definitely be the person who accompanied us through all of it.

We honestly feel extremely lucky to have had Tiko as our guide. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to introduce us to the world of safari.

If you have the possibility to request him as your guide, do it without hesitation. His knowledge, intelligence, kindness, patience and ability to connect with people make him truly exceptional at what he does.

Tiko didn’t just show us a safari. He made us live it.

He made us look at everything with curiosity and wonder, and he gave us memories and emotions that we will carry with us long after returning home.

Thank you, Tiko, for your kindness, your patience, everything you taught us, all the laughs, the conversations, and for sharing a little piece of your world with us.

You turned an already incredible journey into an experience we will never forget. We came for the safari and the animals, but we left with something much more valuable: memories, emotions and a genuine human connection.

We would recommend Tiko a thousand times over. ❤️

Amazing safari
5/5

A fantastic safari, very well organized by Shammah Wonders, which I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone wanting to visit Nyerere (Selous) National Park in Tanzania. Flying from Zanzibar, we took a boat trip along the Rufiji River at sunset, and the next day, after breakfast, we visited a Maasai village. Then came the best part: we explored a good portion of the park in an open 4x4, admiring all kinds of wildlife: hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, antelopes, warthogs, baboons, and beautiful birds. The elephants deserve special mention; indifferent to our presence, they passed by at very close range, giving us an unforgettable spectacle as they went about their daily lives in the wild. Our guide, Tico, is an extraordinary professional, a great expert on Tanzanian flora and fauna, and above all, a warm and endearing person who taught us so much and made our stay fantastic. I personally loved that every time he found a plastic bottle or any other litter, he stopped to pick it up; for me, it's a sign of respect for Mother Nature. Because, hard as it may be to believe, there are people who don't know how to behave even in a place like this, where one feels like a humble intruder amidst a marvelous natural balance where even the trees seem to communicate with each other. Thank you for everything, Justine, Tico, and Nurdin. I wish you all the best and I highly recommend Shammah Wonders for a great safari in this fantastic country of Tanzania.

Great safari
5/5

Everything was well thought out and organised, everything went smoothly. The safari itself was amazing, we saw so many animals and had such a great experience.

A special mention to Tiko, our guide. He knows so much about the animals and how to find them, but what really made the experience special was how friendly and approachable he was. He made us feel completely at home and comfortable throughout the whole safari.

Unforgettable short safari in Selous!
5/5

We arrived from Zanzibar in the afternoon and immediately enjoyed a beautiful boat safari on the Rufiji River. In total, we spent two nights, one full day, and an afternoon in Selous. We were incredibly lucky to see so many elephants and their babies crossing the river, which was an absolute highlight.
Our guide, Tico, was amazing and very attentive. Thanks to him, we saw many animals up close, but he always respected their space so they felt comfortable. Highly recommended!

An unforgettable experience
5/5

In July 2026 we visited the safari, it was an unforgettable experience that the whole family will always remember. We had a night at a camp, another incredible experience, listening to the animals at night. On the other hand, the guide, Tiko, treated us great, he is a wonderful and very charming person. We recommend this safari! 10/10 Thank you very much Tiko and Wonders Safari
