Bucket-list wonderful safari with amazing local company and great guide Regi!
Where to even start with this wonderful company? Very glad my husband and I picked them for a bucket-list, 30th birthday safari!
From the get-go, Iddy was fantastic with crafting a great itinerary and replying promptly to all of our emails - he really made sure that the trip was bespoke and personalised to what we'd like, including accommodation choices and adjusting the itinerary to suit our flights. Out of many tour operators, Samora were the most competitively priced. We had already seen the great reviews online and were really excited to head out to Tanzania!
We were picked up at the airport by our guide, Regi, who gave us a quick intro about the basics of safari, Tanzania overall and a recap of the itinerary - and then we went straight out to see animals! Over the next 6 days, Regi proved himself as an incredibly talented guide - he was able to see animals from afar (even without binoculars!), point them out to us and then manoeuvre the vehicle to allow us the best view and angle to take photos. Moreover, he is extremely knowledgable about a huge variety of animals (birds, mammals, you name it, he knew facts about them) and he happily answered all our questions. In fact, he gave us an incredible insight into the lifestyle in Tanzania, so we really felt immersed in the culture - for us, this hugely elevated our trip. Throughout the safari, Regi was funny, easy to get along with and calm under pressure if ever we got stuck in some rain. He made sure we were comfortable and happy with how each day went. We covered Tarangire, Serengeti, Ndutu, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara, and saw the Big 5 many times with multiple close-up big cat sightings, thanks to Regi's talent.
Cannot recommend Samora enough - they are a local company and value a customer's trust and satisfaction above all. When our hot air balloon experience was cancelled due to rain, Iddy was kind enough to give us a refund himself instead of having to wait 4+ weeks to get the money from the hot air balloon company, as he knew that that would be more hassle for us. Iddy knows what it is like to be a driver (he does safaris himself too) and he values the safety of both the customer and the driver, so you know you are in safe hands.
Extra bonuses with Samora - hot lunches every day were great when you are out on safari and get very hungry! Unlimited cold water, soft drinks and beer in the safari were great. The safari vehicle itself has got multiple (UK) plugs alongside USB-A charging ports so we could charge our cameras/phones to make sure we never missed a moment. We also got to stay at Samora River Lodge on our last night, a beautiful lodge within Arusha right next to a flowing river, making it feel like a peaceful resort. We got to meet other members of the Samora team, including Baraka, who made a fantastic three course meal and breakfast for us, as well as being a great host.
In just 6 days, we built a great friendship with Regi, sharing jokes, laughing together and learning Swahili, which enhanced our safari even more. We are still in touch now, even after the trip!
Final thoughts - if you go with Samora, you will be in great hands with tour guides who will go the extra mile to make sure that your safari experience is the best it can be! Many thanks to Regi, Iddy, Baraka and the whole Samora team - asante sana!

Unforgettable 7-Day Safari with Samora in Tanzania
Our 7-day safari in Tanzania was an absolute dream! From start to finish, all our wishes were taken into account, making this trip truly special.
The accommodations were clean, cozy, and offered breathtaking views. Staying in tents allowed us to experience an extraordinary time in the heart of nature, surrounded by wildlife. The lodges, on the other hand, were more luxurious, yet they still maintained the authentic safari feel, which we greatly appreciated.
Our guide, Reggie, was incredibly professional and knowledgeable. He shared so much insightful information with us, but more importantly, he quickly felt like a friend. He always made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of, which added to the overall experience.

Excellent Safari company, experienced guide, amazing experiences
We had an amazing safari with Samora Explorers. English and German speaking.
The itinerary was very well planned,with great accommodations whilst traveling from Arusha to Lake Natron then through the Serengeti and down to Ngorongoro (5 days in total)
We saw the big five many times and so many other wonderful animals all with the awesome backdrop of the African wilderness.
Iddy's experience, knowledge and driving skills impressed us again and again and we had the best time. Whilst on Safari we also had freshly prepared picnic lunches (not prepacked lunch boxes)
Before our Safari started (2 nights) and afterwards (3nights) we stayed at Samora River Lodge, also run by Iddy and his family, and took excellent day trips in the local area. Great accommodation, very friendly staff and great food.

The best travel experience we’ve ever had!
We had an incredible safari experience with Samora Explorers and our absolutely awesome guide, Reggie!
We did the 6-day Best of Northern Tanzania Safari. From the beginning, Iddy was responsive, helpful and very accommodating with our booking. We had some slight date and accommodation changes, which he dealt with quickly and easily. The itinerary was so well crafted, we wished we were there for even longer. Given how much the package includes, it was fantastic value for money - basically everything is included, and all you have to pay for on top is a (very well deserved) tip for your guide, tips for staff at the accommodation you stay at, and any souvenirs you want to buy. The accommodations, service and food were also incredible.
Reggie was everything you could hope for in a guide. He was friendly, knowledgeable, funny, great at finding the animals and helped us see all we wanted to see in just the first couple of days. We got great views of lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffalo, hippos, giraffes, hyena, a serval, and even six (!!!) rhinos (and so much more)! He answered all our questions on wildlife, the environment and Tanzanian culture - and on top of that kept us laughing all day! We are so grateful to have had such a wonderful guide and could not have had a better time.
Samora has helped us fall in love with Africa, and we’re definitely looking for our next chance to go back to Tanzania, of course with Reggie and Samora!

Amazing Value and Experience
My wife and I has the absolute best experience with Samora Explorers! Our amazing guide Reggie was nothing short of the perfect person to accompany you on a safari. From his friendliness, knowledge of animals, and incredible ability to spot animals, he made our trip a truly unique experience.
Because of Reggie we were able to witness a rare lion hunt. He also found a male and female lion mating just outside the Serengeti hidden in the grass. Time after time, Reggie continued to spot animals all over the place. We saw so many lions in unique positions and exhibiting different behaviors. He was able to show us a Rhino in the Ngorongoro crater, and even Vultures tearing into a Zebra carcass. Reggie really went above and beyond to make our safari an unforgettable experience and I would recommend him to anybody in a heart beat! Truly a great guide.
You'll find a lot of other overpriced tour companies offering the same package at triple the price. Samora Explorers offered us luxury to mid-level accommodation where we were served 3 course meals for much cheaper than all these other European based companies. They are a local company that actually cares about their employees. So much so that while everyone around us has these sad looking box lunches, we had fresh hot meals and had a bush picnic everyday.
Overall, I highly recommend Samora Explorers. They are a great tour company with great guides and I can guarantee that you will not regret booking with them.

A 6-day safari with Samora Explorers allowed us to explore the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara. We traveled with Adrian - an excellent driver and a great guide. Thanks to his involvement, we saw the entire African Big Five! Adrian probably knows all the animals living in Tanzania! He knew the name of every bird, even the smallest one! The organization was excellent, the camps we stayed in were atmospheric, clean, friendly, and the food was excellent. We could stop the car at any time to admire the views and immortalize them in photos. Reliable, good price and well organized
Likely the guide is very important for your experience. We went with Regi and had such a great time! Regi is calm and nice and can tell you some interesting things about Tanzania even in German! We felt very safe, we had a good mixture of tented camps and luxurious resorts for a great experience!
Would definitely recommend the operator and a tour with Regi!

Lifetime nature experience
The whole safari was a great experience but beyond that, profesionalism of Samora was remarkable since even before we arrived Tanzania they managed to help us with our visa process.. thanks Iddy. During the safari, every place was outstanding... Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara... We saw everything or almost... leopards did not want to visit!!! Other than that, lions several times and in full action, bufalos, cheetah, impalas, gazelles, hipos, crocodiles, eagles, vultures, hyenas, jackals, flamingos, giraffes, zebras, antilopes, monkeys, baboons, turtles, lisaards, many other birds, rhyno, ostriches... All 4 accommodation were excellent but I highly recommend Harmony camp if you really want to experience real wild... it's amazing to weak up at 7am and see 100mts away from your tend 2 giraffes walking and eating so close to you. Nothing of that could be so amazing without our knowledgeable, flexible and friendly guide, Regi. He made this safari unforgettable for the 3 of us.

Samora Explorers is an awesome tour operator. They are doing the best for their customers and made our safari magical. All the time we needed something before or during the safari, Iddy answered immediatly. He really looks at his customerd and only wants the best for them. We got an amazing safari and our guide did a great job. Even if we had any questions or needed help he was there. He did everything to make our safari awesome.
