Incredible Safari Experience!!
5/5

This was our first time traveling in Africa and I can’t imagine a better trip. Our guide Herman was a wonderful guy and had an incredible awareness of the wildlife. He saw animals we couldn’t see even after he pointed them out! He was also an expert driver (very important considering the state of the local and park roads) and had a sixth sense for finding lions. We learned quite a bit about the wildlife and Tanzanian culture from Herman. He also gave invaluable tips like arriving early in places such as Ngorongoro (we had the whole crater to ourselves for an hour!). Perhaps the only bump in the road was an hour long delay on the last day of our trip (when we visited the Kilimanjaro foothills) but that was understandably due to a car issue. If you’re reading this, I hope you have a wonderful safari experience. Would highly recommend Herman and Meijo Safaris!

PS. Thank you to Marcelina for the speedy correspondence during the organizing stage!

A solid 6 out of 5 experience, exceeding all expectations
5/5

I have just done a 7-day safari (1 day at Lake Natron, 4 days at Serengeti and 1 day at Ngorongoro) with Meijo and it's a solid 6 out of 5 experience.

Our guide and driver, Mtinangi, is a man with traits of the eagle – a sharp gaze, patience, and the courage to act decisively. Under the expert guidance of Mtinangi, we have seen nearly 30 species of mammals and 40 species of birds, included sightings of over 100 lions, a complete hunt of a gazelle by two cheetahs and the dramatic wildebeest river crossing. He knows the park especially Serengeti very well and he knows exactly where to find the animals that we want to see. He is also a good driver and very knowledgeable about animals

Thank you Meijo and Mtinangi! I will never forget this trip!

clients oriented, flexible, taking care of you from arrival, passionate about safari
5/5

We have just returned from a 5-day private safari in Tanzania organized by Meijo Safaris. We spent 5 days with them, visiting Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater parks.
The offer was tailored to meet our expectations. Special thanks to Michael, who prepared it after consulting with us.
Everything we saw on site was exactly as described in the offer. No unpleasant surprises. If any small problems arose, as they always do, everything was resolved quickly and efficiently, so that we did not experience any inconvenience.
They work very efficiently, are flexible and available 24/7 😊, so we could focus on admiring the beautiful African nature. They were able to adjust the program, even during the Safari. When we came up with the idea of a balloon flight, everything was already organized early the next morning.
They took care of us from the very beginning, from picking us up at the airport, through checking in at all hotels, taking care of all formalities, to looking after us until our departure.
The safari itself was perfectly organized. Our guide, Herman, knows the area, animal habits, and local culture very well. He is very friendly and eager to share his knowledge; you can tell, that safaris are his passion. Thanks to him, we were able to see lots of animals in their natural habitat (lions, little lions cubs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, hippos, hyenas, buffalos, antelopes, and many others…). And above all, it was safe. Amazing experiences at Moyo Tented Camp – the roars of lions at night nearby is an amazing experience. In the Jeep, we had an access to WiFi and phone charging ports, so contact with friends available if needed. This trip was beyond any expectations!!! So, we highly recommend Meijo Safaris to other travelers.

Spectacular safari, the best experience ever!
5/5

I have been on many safaris before, as I am truly passionate about Africa and its incredible wildlife, but rarely have I experienced something as extraordinary as this one. Together with my female friend, I spent three unforgettable nights in the Serengeti and also visited the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater.

We saw an abundance of wildlife — the Big Five, a pride of lionesses with 13 playful cubs, a cheetah with four tiny cubs, as well as countless zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, jackals, vultures, giraffes, elephants, and so much more. Each day brought something new and magical.

Our guide was absolutely exceptional: professional, kind, and extremely knowledgeable, always eager to share fascinating facts and stories. Every day we enjoyed delicious vegan lunches right in the middle of the savannah, which made the experience even more special. The jeep was in perfect condition — comfortable, well-maintained, and reliable throughout the journey.

I have traveled with many safari companies in the past, but Meijo Safari truly stands out and will stay in my memory forever. I will definitely come back and recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone dreaming of an unforgettable safari adventure.

Thank you for giving me one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. You can see all on my IG highlightsstories "Tanzania z GC"

The company is reliable and very considerate. The journey is well planned at a good price.
5/5

The service is great. Our guide Jordan is actively helping us to find animals. We could have the chance to see all the Big Five and Ugly Five. He is very professional to tell us the habits of animals, together with geographical knowledge . The journey was well planned with proper stops for washrooms. It was relaxing and friendly. There was WiFi provided during the safari, although the signal is weak in the park. The guide is experienced. He will try to find the most safe and comfortable routes. You can rely on them. The accommodation is clean and comfortable. There were hot lunches prepared during the drive. We also have water, cola and beers. In a word, the journey was good with a good price.

Amazing safari trip with Michael
5/5

An amazing trip. Michael was both an excellent guide and driver. He knew where to drive to see so many different animals virtually every day, including wildebeest crossing the Mara River, elephants, buffalo, zebras up close, beautiful giraffes, baboons, lioness’s with cubs right beside the Land Cruiser, and a rare sighting of a cheetah! Not to mention many, many types of animals from the deer family. We went mid-range on the accommodations and they were very good along with all the meals.
The booking process was very helpful and very professional.
We would highly recommend both Michael and Meijo Safaris.

Amazing Safari in Tanzania!
5/5

My recent safari in Tanzania was beyond incredible—100% worth every moment! A huge shoutout to our driver, Joel: he’s super knowledgeable, patient, and always knew where to find the best spots. Thanks to him, we checked off all the animals we’d dreamed of seeing, from lions lazing in the sun to playful giraffes.

The highlight? The breathtaking Great Migration river crossing we waited for—watching thousands of wildebeest brave the crocodiles was震撼 (unforgettable)! Everything was smooth, and this trip will stay with me forever. Highly recommend for any wildlife lover!

Love those animals!
5/5

It can be overwhelming selecting a safari company! Hopefully this review helps, I would definitely recommend Meijo. We were looking for a 7 day safari that included the North Mara River crossing and Meijo’s itinerary caught my eye. The price was reasonable and they tailored it to meet our requests. The accommodations were a nice variety of tented, Masai eco and mid-luxury lodges- all exceeded our expectations (beautiful settings and huge rooms!). Meijo’s office was responsive and clear in all of our communications.

Our guide, Michael, was fabulous. We teased him about being competitive - he was always trying his best to give us the best sightings and photo ops! When we were at the Mara River he spotted a single wildebeest stepping into the river, up river, threw the Landcruiser into drive and pulled into the best spot - well before others followed. I was able to get a great video of the wildebeests crossing the river, and a large crocodile (unsuccessfully) watching them! He had good relationships with other guides and rangers who shared information about where certain animals were hanging out - this allowed us to see most of the animals (wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions, leopard, cheetah, serval cat, baboons, Giselle’s (and other similar deer like), buffalo, hippo, rhino, warthogs, jackal, hyena, many bird varieties, ostriches and many more!). We were lucky enough to witness two lionesses hunting four warthogs, one lioness flushed them out and drove them to the second lioness who surprised them with the chase - they ended up hungry.

Book a safari and ask for Michael. When you meet him, specifically ask to see a buffalo in Northern Serengeti! He’ll tell you the story behind this suggestion.

You do a lot of driving on dirt roads, some parts very rough. At all times we felt very safe and comfortable with Michael’s driving. He was courteous, patient, knowledgeable and fun!

We did a walking safari in Tarangire park, so nice to see the animals in a natural setting off road - I recommend this. You don’t necessary get as close to the animals but it feels better!

If you are interested in the Northern Serengeti and the river crossing, I recommend two days in the North, but don’t compromise the Central Serengeti- have two days there too. Also a day in Ngorogoro! Other destinations are great too, but those were the best for us.

Thank you Meijo and Michael for a great safari!
