We were well taken care of and had a fantastic time. They handled everything very well.

We were very happy with Uwanda tours and our knowledgeable guide Piniel. We saw so many more animals then we expected to see and it was a wonderful time. Osero camp was lovely as well. Very worth the money, it was such a lovely add on to our trip. It converted my friend to Safaris, she wants to go again. Highly recommended by us.

Wonderfully Organised and Adventurous Safari

uwanda tours allowed us to experience a unique and adventurous safari. firstly everything was organised exceptionally well such as the transfers and activities (always very punctual). we did a multitude of activities in only 5 days including game drives, boat safaris, sunset boat drive, bush walk, hot spring swims, maasai village tour, mloka village tour and much more.

before i talk about our experiences during the activities i would like to say we had the most wonderful and informative tour guide who stayed with us most of the time. our guide holle first greeted us with a huge smile were we already knew we got so lucky with our guide. he was fantastic as he shared so much information with us, made the safari enjoyable, had an explanation ready for all of our wild questions and overall was just an excellent guide. additionally we always felt safe with him and he spoke very good english. i will definitely request him for my next safari!

a word on the activities. the game drives were filled with the sighting of many animals both on land and in the water. on one day we even made a stop at the hot springs which was truely a lovely event. additionally nyerere national park is wonderful as it is not crowded with jeeps and has beautiful nature. the sunset boat drive was astonishing and a must see. the bush walk was a unique dive into the life of a bushman. the boat safari was action filled with hippos and crocodiles as well as seeing animals come down to the water. the maasai and mloka village tours gave a wonderful insight into both their cultures and ways of life (very interesting!).

if you don’t want to have a boring/normal safari come to nyerere national park with uwanda tours. and don’t forget to get holle as your tour guide!

Best experience ever

Safari with Uwandatours was great! Best experience soo far! Our guide was very nice, he spoke english fluently, he told us a lot about animals and land! We really enjoyed. They also made a pick up for us, even-though we stayed at the hotel outside the Zanzibar city. Would really recommend!

The most amazing experience ever

We did a 3 days/2 nights safari with transfer by plane from Zanzibar. We are a group of 4 and my friend already wrote a review, but it was so good that I also have to write one. It was the most amazing experience ever. We stayed at the Selous Impala Camp and the accomodation was simply perfect. The tents had everything you could possibly need plus the most beautiful view on the river and the woods. The food was delicious and the people working there were amazing. They really did everything to make our stay great, from wake up service with coffee brought to our tents to complimentary laundry (done wayyyy better than what I do at home). The bush babies visiting us in the evening were super cute.

Our guide, Godlisten, was more than amazing. He knows everything about animals, nature, Masai culture, .. he was never tired of answering all our questions (and there were a lot) and was always in a good mood. Godli is also the best driver and was very respectful of the animals and everyone’s safety. The activities we did were one better than the other, and everytime we tought it couldn’t get any better he was able to top himself again. We saw a lot of animals, giraffes, elephants, lions, hyppos, zebras, pumbas, baboons, hyenas, impalas, monkeys, crocodiles, birds, … it was a dream coming true. My personal highlight was having a delicious breakfast by the river, watching the hyppos nearby and other animals drinking a little further away.

I absolutely recommend this safari. Selous Impala Camp and Godli will provide you with the most magical experience ever. The only negative part was that we had to leave :) I would have loved to stay longer.

Friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and committed to providing the best for us.

We booked onto a 3 day safari in Selous Game Reserve which consisted of a full day game drive on day 1; a bush walk with local Masai and herbalist doctor, a local village tour with a local guide and a sunset river Safari on day 2; and a Masai village visit where we learnt about the village life and were able to join in some the activities on day 3. All of our drivers were very punctual and friendly and our guides were fantastic! So many brilliant stories from their lives here in Tanzania and facts about the different elements of life and nature here. Our accommodation was good. There had been an issue with our room before we arrived which rendered it out of action but they put us into another room which had been newly built and was clean, had a ceiling fan and good amenities including a constant supply of bottled water. As it was newly built there were a few teething problems but the staff were very quick to put anything right. The accommodation had a clean pool and food was good and plentiful.

Game drive day 1: Our guide Mr Martino was absolutely brilliant! He made us feel at ease the whole time and made sure we always had a good supply of water and there were bottles of soda too to drink. His knowledge on the animals was excellent and there weren’t any questions he wasn’t able to answer. The way the driver and Mr Martino found the animals in the vast park was incredibly impressive and we saw so many of the animals, up close and the whole experience is one we will remember forever.

Day 2: All guides on this day were brilliant. And we enjoyed each of the parts for different reasons. Our highlight was the river Safari where we got to enjoy sunset on the beach of the river, watching the hippos bathing and playing.

Day 3: the Masai visit was truly brilliant. The chief of the village took us around and immersed us into the village life for a few hours.

Overall, a visit we’ll never forget. Thank you so much!

Unique and magical experience at Selous Impala Camp

We spent 3 days and 2 nights at the Selous Impala Camp. As a group of four friends, we were beyond happy about the experience provided. A real dream come true, one activity after the other.
Our guide, the staff at the camp, the location. Every minute was better than the other. The team and the guide pay attention to details, safety, share interesting facts about the wild life with passion.
The lodge is a real gem in the middle of the bush, above the river. If you get lucky, you can encounter some animals crossing your path. We saw some girafes at sunset by the pool! Plus, the food is delicious.

We highly recommend Uwanda tour and the Selous Impala Camp.

A huge thank you from the bottom of our hearts for these moments spent together!

Great time @Nyerere NP with Mr. Martin & Mr. Duller

We had a great time with our guide Mr. Martin and our driver Mr. Duller! 5/5! Thank you so much for this unforgettable experience!

We booked a 4-day fly-in safari from Sansibar, even though the itinerary and the lodge were changed from the original booking - it was so great!!!! Transport/pick-up, luggage storage on Zanzibar was very good & the communication with the operator was very easy. Value for money was okay with 260$ per day - we would have wished some control over our itinerary (how many days of safari e.g.) if we pay the same price for every day. The car was very good - cool water all day long in the truck and overall great food!

Regarding the Safari itself:
Day 1: warm welcome at the airport and a full day in the bush. Lots of elephants, lions, giraffes etc. - no excessive chasing of animals by the driver, which we liked very much! Very good food under a great bao-bab tree. Completely vegan food was possible, as ordered.
Day 2: bushman tour, village tour with a local, visit to a local school. This tour and introduction to the local life was astonishing. We felt warmly welcome and bought local goods and did learn a lot about Tansania, the challenges of the people and their lives. Before the tour we had a bushman walking tour early in the morning - which seemed to be a bit staged, we did not like that very much… we ended the day with end epic sunset on the river banks of rufiji river and the boat safari, where we would have liked to get closer to the hippos (like other boats).
Day 3: full day again in the jeep! And again lots of animals and wild game - especially lots of elephants with their babies. The only con on this day: we ordered 2 times vegan food & 1 meat portion, in the end we got 2 meat portions and 1 vegetarian. Not a huge problem, as we tried to share then - but worked very well! Maybe a table for the lunch would have been nice as well!
Day 4: Maasai village visit, chill-out at the lodge and transport to the airport and back to ZNZ. We promptly received our stored luggage & were transported to our hotel.

Lodge (Safari Selous Lodge):
5/5! Great time, great property and the loveliest people around. Always clean, very tasty food & the worlds greatest staff. You cannot feel alone there, there’s always someone who talks to you, asks you about your day or to play games with. We even had dancing lessons with our Maasai guard by the bonfire. Everyone was interested in us, our home countries and so on. Thanks so much Sarah, Jafar & Jastin!

Conclusion: we can recommend all our lodge, agency and guides! Thanks for the good time at Nyerere NP!
