Professional and delivered exactly as they promised.
We chose Uwanda based on their excellent reviews and value of their itineraries.
We chose their 8 day Safari visiting Mikumi, Ruaha, Udzungwa Forest and Nyerere. Communication before our booking was very good and they were happy to amend the suggested itinerary by spending a night at Udzungwa Forest Reserve rather than the proposed overnight stay in Morogoro. This did involve a much longer drive ( all day) to Nyerere and a slight change in doing our boat Safari and Bush Walk in Nyerere on the last morning before driving back to Dar Es Salaam.
Our driver and guide Ahmad Bakuru was friendly and always punctual. He was a very safe driver and knowledgeable about the wildlife that we saw.
Our first stop was Mikumi staying at Camp Bastion which exceeded our expectations in terms of accommodation. The afternoon game drive was a lovely introduction seeing Elephants Hippos as well as the usual game.
Following morning we drove to Ruaha Hilltop Lodge which again was very comfortable. We spent 3 nights here doing 2 full day safari in Ruaha. The vistas were amazing and we saw lots of wildlife including Lions on a Buffalo kill.
We then drove to Udzwunga Forest Reserve staying at Udzungwa Forest Tented Camp. We did a short hike to a lovely waterfall seeing Black and White Colobus Monkey as well as the endemic Red Colobus Monkey. We were even more delighted to see the Red Colobus Monkey again right in front of our tent in the evening and again the following morning.
Our final stay was at Selous Safari Lodge which again was very nice. We did a full day safari in Nyerere and were lucky to see Lions, Wild Dogs and Hyenas.
On the final morning we did a Bush Walk learning about animal tracks and how our ancestors survived in the bush. Finally we ended our safari with a boat trip on the Rufiji seeing Hippos up close and numerous colourful birds.
Ahmed then drove us back to our Hotel in Dar Es Salaam.
In conclusion we experienced a fantastic 8 days and we thank Uwanda and particularly Ahmad for delivering a great value Safari that exceeded our expectations.
Thank you.

An Absolutely Unforgettable Safari Experience!
Our 8-day private safari with Kapande, starting in Ruaha, continuing through Mikumi, and ending in Nyerere, was absolutely fantastic and exceeded all our expectations. The parks were peaceful, with very few other people around, allowing us to enjoy breathtaking wildlife sightings and truly experience the beauty of Tanzania in an intimate and authentic way.
Our guide, Kapande, was exceptional. He was incredibly friendly, respectful towards the animals, and knew the areas like the back of his hand. He always shared fascinating insights about the wildlife, plants, and local surroundings, making every day not only exciting but also educational. His knowledge, passion, and genuine respect for nature made the entire experience even more special.
The accommodations were beautiful, small, and family-run, with clean and comfortable rooms, incredibly friendly staff, and delicious food. The entire trip was perfectly organized, and everything ran smoothly from beginning to end. We felt safe, comfortable, and well taken care of at every moment.
This safari was so much more than just a holiday — it was a truly magical experience that we will remember for the rest of our lives. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide or a more wonderful journey.
We wholeheartedly recommend Kapande and this safari to anyone looking for an authentic, peaceful, and unforgettable wildlife experience in Tanzania!

Highly reliable safari operator: delivers 100% on promises with top-tier guides and vehicles.
8-Day Safari: Ruaha, Mikumi & Nyerere
Overall, we were absolutely thrilled with our safari experience!
While communication beforehand could have been a bit smoother at times, the trip itself was planned and executed precisely as promised. Everything was 100% reliable, seamlessly timed, and flexible enough to accommodate adjustments on the go.
The vehicles were top-notch—in excellent technical condition, highly comfortable for both game drives and long overland journeys, and even equipped with power outlets to charge devices on the road.
A special mention goes to our guide, Kapande—he was fantastic! Highly skilled behind the wheel, very knowledgeable, spoke fluent English, and had a calm, cheerful attitude throughout.
Favorite National Park: Ruaha (remote, fewer tourists, abundant wildlife, and diverse landscapes)
Favorite Lodge: Ruaha Hilltop Lodge
We highly recommend this trip!

Once in a Lifetime Experience
What an experience! We had an amazing time with the Uwanda Tours staff and were so impressed by their hospitality throughout the trip.
We did the 3-day safari, including airport pick-up and drop-off from Dar es Salaam. The drive from the airport was quite tough, so I would definitely recommend taking travel sickness tablets. The roads are rather basic and the journey can take around 5–6 hours. In hindsight, we probably would have opted for the fly-in option, where you take a small plane to one of the airstrips near the national park, which takes a fraction of the time. That said, the drive through the rural Tanzanian communities is incredibly beautiful and gives you a real glimpse into the country.
When we arrived at the lodge, we had a short break before heading out on the boat safari. This was an evening trip along the river, and both the captain and guide were fantastic. They were extremely knowledgeable about the river and the wildlife, and we learned so much during the trip.
Back at the lodge, meals were served at set times. The food was basic but very tasty and more than enough after a day of activities.
The following day was a full-day game drive, and it was absolutely breathtaking. The amount of wildlife you see is extraordinary, and the national parks themselves are stunning. One of the best things for us was how quiet it felt compared with some other safari destinations. We could often go hours without seeing another safari vehicle.
Our driver really went above and beyond to make sure we saw as many animals as possible. We managed to see 3 of the Big Five, along with so much other wildlife. There was a lunch break halfway through the day, which was a welcome chance to relax, and the jeeps have built-in coolers, so there were plenty of refreshments available throughout the day.
Towards the end of the day, our driver took us to a clifftop viewpoint to watch the sunset. It was the perfect way to finish an already incredible day.
On our final morning, we did a bush walk lasting around an hour. It was really interesting and we were guided by a member of the Maasai community and a bushman, who shared lots of interesting knowledge about the area. If we were to do the trip again, though, I think we would probably try to arrange a morning game drive instead.
Afterwards, we began the drive back to Dar es Salaam for our onward flights.
Overall, this was a truly amazing experience and we had the best time. Uwanda Tours offered fantastic hospitality, knowledgeable guides and an incredible safari experience, all at a very affordable price compared with many other Tanzanian safari options.
A couple of tips:
Take some small US dollar bills for tipping the staff. They are greatly appreciated, and the staff really do go above and beyond for their guests.
Wear neutral-coloured clothing for the game drives.
If you get travel sick, definitely consider medication for the long road journey — or look into the fly-in option if your budget allows.

Unforgettable experience, highly recommend
We landed on the safari strip and was greeted by our tour guide, Emilli immediately and got straight to action. We saw a giraffe 2 minutes after driving away and then the action kept coming with lions, elephants and lots more!
The tour guide was very factual and knowledgable about the animals and area, making our experience even better. This is an experience and we will never forget!

One of a kind
We had an absolutely amazing safari experience from start to finish. The communication beforehand was clear and helpful, and the service throughout the day was excellent.
A special mention has to go to Emili, who was an incredible guide. His knowledge and ability to explain everything we were seeing was amazing. He had such a great way of bringing the safari to life, explaining the animals, their behaviour and the surrounding environment in a way that was really interesting and easy to understand.
His attention to detail was unreal — he spotted things we would never have noticed ourselves and always made sure we had the best opportunity to see and appreciate the wildlife. He was also friendly, professional and genuinely passionate about what he does.
We saw some incredible wildlife and came away with memories we’ll never forget. We would absolutely recommend this safari, and especially Emili, to anyone visiting Tanzania. Thank you for such a fantastic experience!

Amazing safari experience with Kapande, exactly what we were looking for!
We had an amazing 8-day safari with Kapande, traveling to three parks (Ruaha, Mikumi, & Nyerere). Communication with Kapande and Uwanda Tours was very easy and clear; we were picked up from our hotel in Iringa to start the safari. The accommodations throughout the week were all very nice, and everyone we met was very friendly and helpful. Kapande was the perfect safari guide; he was very friendly and knowledgeable about the animals and parks, and he communicated with other guides to make sure we saw plenty of animals.
Overall, it was a 10/10 week! Thank you Uwanda Tours and Kapande!

Very good
Our 5 days tour was great, a lot of it due to our guide, Kapande. From the moment he picked us up from our Airbnb to the day he dropped us off, he gave us all needed explanations, he arranged all details for our stay. As for his safari guiding it was excellent, he gave us informations and shared his knowledge on the animals we spotted, he knew where to go in both parks we visited and offered us an amazing experience and adventure for our first safari! I would recommend Kapande as a guide because he has a great experience and he puts it in good use with the people he is guiding.

Amazing adventure!
This was my first safari and it was an unforgettable adventure!
Me and my friend booked the 5 day safari to Mikumi and Nyerere national parks.
Perfection was obvious from the first minutes when our driver and guide Kapande, was spot on to the appointment place and time. Although the roads in Tanzania are chaotic, he was always careful and consistent with his driving and got us safely to our first lodge. During our game drives to both parks, he was always eager to share his knowledge about the animals we encountered and made every possible effort so that we can see up close as many animals as possible! Aside from that, he was also very friendly and with many many safari stories to share and excite our interest for the next time! I wholeheartedly recommend him as a guide. He made our first safari unforgettable.
Regarding the company now, they were very precise from the get go. The email communication with them was easy. The offer and relevant documents provided were accurate. The payment process seamless. Everything unfolded exactly as it was described in the initial offer.
To conclude, whatever the type of the safari is, you can trust Uwanda Tours And Safaris to make it unforgettable. And ask for Kapande as your guide!

Unforgettable experience with a world-class team !!!
We had an absolutely fantastic 3-day safari tour at Nyerere park, that exceeded all our expectations!
Mahamudu Omar is a phenomenal tour-guide! His deep understanding and knowledge about animal behavior and wildlife made every drive special. We learned so much and felt incredibly lucky to have him by our side.
Our driver Mkali did a fantastic job! Navigating the rough terrain seemed effortless, and we always felt completely safe. Plus, they had a great eye for spotting animals and placing the jeep in the perfect place for taking good pictures.
This team made our trip unforgettable. We highly recommend Mahamudu and Mkali! 10/10!
