Trusted agency for awesome safari
5/5

I was a solo woman traveller, so was cautious to have a good agency. Even if I chose a budget safari option, I was greatly taken care of by Super Eagle and Richard. He is a very nice and caring man and he is also always at your disposal to make sure your journey is smooth, enjoyable and comfortable.
We had a great time on the safari, 4x4 mini van, saw all the big five in the Masai Mara, went on to Lake Nakuru and Lake Navaisha then Amboseli for 6 days.
Our driver Clinton was awesome, new everyone and had some real skills to game drive ! He was always focused on the radio, was among the first one to spot the black Rhino and the first one to spot a group of 5 big lions. Crazy fabulous.
Accommodation was basic, which is normal for a budget option safari but always friendly and accommodating.
We stayed at Minti Mingi, Citymax hotel and Nyati Camp (who upgraded us on our oat night for no reason !)
Only thing I would wish to upgrade a bit is the food that was a bit the same all the time and really basic. Nyati Camp made a real effort and it was appreciated. Restaurants on the road were basic and could be improved.
When back in Nairobi, I had a meeting at my hotel with Richard, as he wanted to debrief and have my feeling on everything about the safari. It’s the first time an agency did that. I even got a farewell present from Richard, which I never expected and was very thoughtful of him.
Overall, I had a great and safe time. Richard and Super Eagle and Clinton can definitely be trusted and I will come back again with my family and will definitely book through Richard again.

Good communicators, friendly and efficient
5/5

As a 60+ mostly solo female traveller in East Africa, it’s vital to be able to trust and enjoy good communication with my driver and guide. Within minutes of being picked up from my house by Chris, from Super Eagles Travel and Tours, I felt relaxed and in good hands for the three-day trip from Nairobi to Amboseli National Park. The disadvantage of traveling alone of course is always the cost, the advantage however is having an entire land cruiser to yourself and a schedule you can tailor to your own. Chris would stop without hesitation wherever and whenever I wanted to take photos and was very flexible with time. He went above and beyond. My entire experience from the initial booking with Super Eagles boss, Richard, to the luxury-tented accomodation at Sentrim Amboseli, to the safari itself, to being dropped back home, was excellent. Thank you Super Eagles!

Excellent budget tour!
5/5

As a solo woman traveler, I was very picky when selecting my safari and ended up going with Super Eagles because of the great price for the Kenya/Tanzania combo safari and the great reviews. Like other reviewers have noted, Bildad was extremely professional and helpful in planning the safari and communication was clear and prompt both during and before my trip.

The safaris in both countries were incredible. Rhino in Kenya and Mike in Tanzania were both amazing guides! We had long days in the car and they were both such pros - we saw all of the big five and so much more. We did SO many game drives, I felt like I 100% got my money's worth there.

The cars were comfortable and well-maintained and it was nice to meet fellow travelers on the shared safari in Tanzania. It actually ended up being just me in Kenya so I got a private safari for a few days! The lodging I had was two nights camping, two nights glamping and two nights hotel in Arusha. Camping among wild lions was unforgettable, and the glamping camp Nyati in Kenya was very nice. The food was all included and was very good African home cooking. A few nights I was able to buy local beer, which was cool!

Logistics were overall good, especially Bildad arranging someone local to help me at the land border crossing both times. It was super smooth however please note they didn't take card for the Tanzania visa - only cash ($100 if you're American) so have that with you. This part is always the most nerve-wracking solo but everyone I encountered was helpful and make me feel comfortable, which I appreciate.

A few notes of feedback that don't take away from my high rating:
- It might be helpful to have some kind of FAQ material to give once people book to know what to pack and what to expect. For example, my safari truck in Tanzania couldn't accommodate large bags and luckily I didn't bring one, but I almost did.
- A few times, transportation was quite late or not what I expected. I had to give one driver directions to my hotel and another was two hours late and told me he didn't know I was going to the airport. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but traveling alone I like to feel confident in my transport.
- I asked Bildad about bringing USD vs. local currency and he said USD was fine along with my credit card. Everywhere in Kenya took card, but in Tanzania, I wished I had changed some shillings. I ended up getting my hotel to give me like $20 worth. It's much cheaper to buy things in cash in shillings and fewer places take card. Tips in USD were fine (tip well!!!) except for the guy who helped me across the border at Namanga asked for shillings, which I didn't have, so he took USD.

Full budget safari
4/5

Safari through 3 national parks (Masai Mara, Nakuru and Amboseli) costing less than 800 dollars. Everything included in this experience: accommodation, food, water, entrance fees to the parks and travel distances, which are far away. The agency team spoke to me all the time to make sure everything was ok. The only negative point was with the first driver, who did not check the car properly, and we had to stop on the road to check the brakes. Furthermore, he drove irresponsibly, and while overtaking improperly, he tore the tire, so we had to change cars. Super Eagle immediately provided another one. The first car was also full of cockroaches, which shows that proper cleaning was not done. I emphasize that this was not under super eagle's control, and when informed she quickly resolved all issues. I highly recommend this company for a safari in Kenya.

Unforgettable Experience !!!!
5/5

I contacted the company at the suggestion of a friend Alex Russo who lives in California.
It was a success. 'Billdall left them he was in charge of making sure that I traveled safely and comfortably.
I booked hotels with them, not camps I don't like, and they gave me the best ones. I also did many safaris in a Jeep, not in a van like in another company that was a disaster.
Safarry Eagle. Super recommended

I don't
Forget. Better to do it in a hotel and jeep.
Always better

Excellent personalised service and awesome tour
5/5

Super Eagles were fantastic from start to finish.
Daisy, who organised my safari, was a delight to deal with; extraordinarily helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. Her excellent service was the reason I went with Super Eagles, and I am glad I did. Daisy understood how important the safari was to me and really went above and beyond to facilitate what I wanted. She also communicated in a friendly and helpful way with no pressure, which was a real breath of fresh air after the high-pressure aggressive sales approach taken by several other companies whom I had contacted. Also, Daisy continued to be in contact during the safari itself, rather than taking my money and dropping out of contact like other companies do. Daisy was genuinely interested in making sure that it all ran smoothly and that I was happy. From the very first contact right through until after the safari, Daisy treated me like a friend whom she genuinely wanted to have a great experience. She made it a joy.
Brian, the driver and tour guide, was also excellent. Thoroughly professional and highly knowledgable, and, like Daisy, very genuine in wanting me to have an excellent and happy experience on safari. He listened and communicated genuinely, did a brilliant job of finding animals, and provided really interesteing education and knowledge about what we were seeing.
I unequivocally and gladly recommend Super Eagles for safaris and tours.

Easy to communicate and value for money
5/5

This was my first safari tour and it was really nice. Bildad was amazing, he organised everything for me nicely and answered all my questions promptly. The tour was also good value for money! They can offer different accommodation/ vehicle options depending on your budget. Don't hesitate to email Bildad, I'm sure he'll do his best to work out an itinerary that's suitable for you.

Responsive and helpful
5/5

Overall, a really great experience. I chose this company because I read strong reviews about Bildad - the tour coordinator- and his quick responses and ease at answering questions- especially before we left

We did the 10 day tour split between Kenya and Tanzania and I felt like we had a good value for what we received. You spend a lot of quality time in each park and it didn’t feel too rushed. In Masai Mara you have 1 evening and 1 full day drive and stay in an ecolodge with a private bathroom ( and hot shower). The drive to Lake Nakura is long and that park is the smallest but it’s all the best chance to see the rhinos- so worth it overall. I’m Amboseli we saw the top of Kili both days and so many elephants ( herds of 20 plus at a time). The ecolodge one Amboseli is also nicer than we anticipated and the food here was one of our favorites.

The tour also supported us with the border crossing to Tanzania and it was much smoother then I thought. A driver met us at the border and escorted us through the visa steps which was appreciated. I’m Tanzania we stayed at 2 tented campsites with basic amenities ( the one in Ngorongoro has a really nice view). When we were camping the last 2 days you also get a “private chef” who prepared really nice hot breakfast , lunch and dinners- this part definitely had the best food ( thank you Gerard). We are vegetarian and were accommodated consistently at each site- though some obviously much more graciously then others
( butter sandwiches vs veggie curry with chapati and fresh fruit)

In the Serengeti we had a half day and a full day drive. The sheer number of wildebeest and zebra is really amazing. We also saw several large prides of lions ( 18!). Lastly, Ngorongoro crater exceeded my expectations. The landscape is very different from the other parks with lush green trees and the surrounding crater walls- really beautiful! It was a strong ending to our trip.

We had 1 guide driver for the Kenya side and then another for the Tanzania- both were very kind and personable though one was much more informative so it was nice to experience the variety. It’s also important to note it’s a joint safari which means you are merged with people who book the same itinerary from other companies so the group size constantly fluctuates at each stop but for us never exceeded 6 people.

Very happy with our experience and think the programing allows you to see a lot of beautiful places. Check your expectations that every day is a lot of driving ( 8 plus hours), early morning wake ups and bumpy roads and you will have a great time.

Magnificent, everything in the tour was perfect
5/5

After a careful analysis of different tour operators, we decided to choose Super Eagles to do a 7 day safari in Kenya and we couldn’t be more satisfied. We ended up choosing them because of the huge difference of price in comparison with the others operators and the quality of the hotels and lodges.
Since the first day we booked this tour, communication was awesome, they are available almost 24/7, Charity was always ready to answer our questions.
We had booked a shared tour but it ended up being a private tour. Our driver John was super dedicated and made the biggest efforts for us to see as much animals as we could and was extremely pontual. Everything went well and we can’t wait to book with them again.

10 day Kenya and Tanzania Safari
4/5

We really enjoyed our budget safari (6 days Kenya, 3 days Tanzania)and the communication and booking process from super eagles tours was awesome. They even looked into changing our itinerary mid trip. 5 stars for communication

Kenya:

Even though we booked a budget camping safari, the accommodation was really good. We were in a really large tent with a proper bed and private toilet and hot shower. There is not really much point booking anything above budget in Kenya, as you will only really get slightly better food.

For the first 3-4 days we had 8 people in our van even though our tour company promised maximum of 7 and other people in the van tour companies had promised 6. 8 was way too much as not everyone could stand up at one time to look out the top of the van. Everyone was staying at different places as well so with 8 people we spent a lot of time driving to drop all the people off at their accommodation. Sometimes this was up to 1 hour if they were staying in the parks.

There is a lot of driving in this safari, not only doing the safari but getting to the parks. There is more driving on the road than actually driving in the national parks. The tour companies could set it up so that driving is minimised as currently we go all the way down from Nairobi to the Tanzania border for the Masai Mara and then back up past Nairobi to Nakuru and only spent 2 hours safaring there, and then back down to Amboseli near the Tanzania border again. If they started going north of Nairobi to Nakuru first, then it would probably take out at least 1 whole day of driving and we could spend a lot more time at Nakuru as we felt we didn’t get enough time there.

Overall, The guides in Kenya were great and we saw lots of amazing animals. It was really fun, however the driving was getting to us in the middle of the trip and this could be avoided if it was set out better.

Tanzania

We opted for a ten day safari that covered both Kenya and Tanzania. We made this booking in a rush due to other plans falling through, we would probably book differently doing it again.

Since we are a young couple looking for an adventure, and not crazy about photography or animals, we would just do 6-7 day Kenyan safari and then head to Mombasa or Diana beach for few days at the beach. The Kenya side is a lot cheaper and this would take out a lot of driving.

For animal lovers, we would recommend adding on Tanzania, Tanzania is extremely good, It is Kenya on steroids. You see the same animals but just more of them. For example we saw a pride of 20-30 lions in the Serengeti and thousands of wilderbeest which you don’t get in Kenya. The downside is a lot more driving.

Tanzania

The Tanzania safari was great and the wildlife and scenery was next level amazing. We added Tanzania onto our Kenyan safari and spent 3 days on a safari tour.

We chose the budget safari and unlike Kenya the accommodation did reflect this. We were staying tents and had communal bathrooms which is fine for use but something to be aware of when booking. This also meant that the trucks were loaded with food and camping equipment which made it a bit crammed. Even though the facilities were basic the food was still amazing. Note that the chef also needs a tip which we did not know about. A generous tip for this is 10USD per person.

The safaris were awesome, but we felt we didn’t really have enough time to do the Serengeti well, but that is because it is so vast. Ngorongoro crater was amazing but likewise we only had a morning and it was cut short to get some people back to the airport.

For our trip the guide was below average and more of a driver than a guide. He didn’t really talk to us and only did very minimal talking on the safari. We would have liked him to talk about the animals and tell us facts and actually act interested. In Kenya it felt like a group hunt to find the animals which was fun, but in Tanzania is was more just drive and see what you see. The main thing that annoyed us about our guide is that in the last two hours of the trip he started being very friendly and even bought us red bananas, likely because he was about to receive a tip. When we finished we gave him our tip and he preceded to count it in front of us and then ask for more. This was very rude and in our opinion unacceptable, especially when our Kenya guides didn’t even look at the tip but just thanked us.

If there is a set amount to tip then the tour companies need to advise this and be reasonable. It is such a murky territory, and can easily ruin trips for people, when it’s not clear and people have paid thousands to be there.
