Recommended safari operator
We had a group one-day safari organized by Mafie Adventures from Arusha to Ngorongoro. It was very well organized, car was very comfortable, our driver was professional, he told us interesting facts about the nature and was able to show us spectacular animal sightings. We had also very tasty breakfast and lunch included. Full recommendation from me!

An Unforgettable Experience with Mafie Adventures
My trip (two friends, male/female) with Mafie Adventures was truly unforgettable. Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro had been a dream of mine for a long time, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. From the first contact until the end of the journey, everything was professionally and carefully organized. Communication was clear, the planning was excellent, and I always felt that I was in safe and capable hands.
The guides (John, Oliver) from Mafie Adventures were absolutely fantastic. They were experienced, patient, friendly, and incredibly encouraging. Climbing Kilimanjaro is both physically and mentally challenging, but their positive attitude and constant support helped us through the difficult moments. They maintained a comfortable pace (pole-pole) , regularly checked how we were feeling, and always made health and safety their top priorities. Their knowledge of the mountain was impressive, and their motivation made reaching the summit even more meaningful.
I also have enormous respect for the porters, cooks, and the rest of the team. They worked extremely hard and always greeted us with a smile. Their dedication, kindness, and wonderful team spirit were an essential part of the experience. The camps were well organized, and everything was ready when we arrived after a long day of hiking. This allowed us to rest and recover properly.
The meals were another pleasant surprise. Even under difficult mountain conditions, the cook prepared fresh, tasty, and varied food every day. A warm and satisfying meal after many hours of walking was always greatly appreciated.
After climbing Kilimanjaro, Mafie Adventures also organized a wonderful two-day safari to Tarangire National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater. It was the perfect way to relax after the climb. Tarangire’s impressive baobab trees, beautiful landscapes, and abundance of wildlife were incredible. The Ngorongoro Crater was equally breathtaking, with spectacular views and an amazing variety of animals.
The combination of Kilimanjaro and the safari made this journey exceptionally special. Mafie Adventures provided a professional, personal, and authentic experience from beginning to end. I returned home with wonderful memories, a great sense of achievement, and enormous gratitude to the entire team.
I highly recommend Mafie Adventures to anyone looking for a safe, well-organized, and unforgettable adventure in Tanzania!

Mafie went out of their way to not only make sure we got exactly what we were looking for, but a great experience as well. Mafie is run by experienced locals, and therefore is small enough to work with your individual needs, but also able to scale up as well. We did a combination Kilimanjaro summit followed by a 5 day safari. In the end, we found that we got what the larger groups offered, but at a better price, and without cutting corners. They just know their craft. We even gave them a few last-minute itinerary changes, and they handled them like a champ.

My son and I summited Mount Kilimanjaro this April with Mafie Adventures, and it was an experience we’ll never forget.
There were moments when the challenge felt like more than I was capable of, but thanks to our guides, Oliver and Matthew, they carried us through by encouraging us, and singing with us, and generally keeping our mindsets strong every step of the way. Their belief in us made all the difference.
What truly set this journey apart, though, was the entire team behind the scenes. The porters, the cook, the summit porter, and Mudi—who greeted us with meals morning and night—were all just as essential to our success. Their energy, kindness, and camaraderie created something special. The songs, the laughter, and the genuine friendships we formed along the way became as meaningful as reaching the summit itself.
If you’re considering taking on Kilimanjaro, you won’t find a better team than Mafie Adventures. They are authentic, caring, and full of heart—with a great sense of humor to match. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

An absolute trip of a lifetime with unforgettable memories that I will cherish forever!
A truly unforgettable experience! Mafie made my dream come true. I had been dreaming of climbing this mountain for a couple of years, and from the very beginning, Erastus was always available—day or night—to answer any questions or concerns I had about the trip.
He made everything clear, from pricing to the crew to choosing the right number of days, ensuring that my father and I had the best possible chance for a successful summit and an incredible experience. On top of that, the value for what we paid was exceptional—honestly far beyond what we expected for the level of service and care we received.
We were beyond satisfied with the entire team. With two guides, a cook, and nine porters, everyone felt like family by the end of the journey. We truly would not have made it to the summit without them.
Oliver and Matthew were outstanding—extremely knowledgeable about the mountain and always making the right decisions based on how we were feeling each day. The food was absolutely incredible, far exceeding our expectations. And the porters were amazing—always smiling, offering fist bumps as they passed us, and somehow arriving ahead of us at camp to have everything perfectly set up.
Honestly, the whole team felt superhuman with their strength, positivity, and constant support. Nothing was ever done halfway; it was the best hospitality I’ve ever experienced in my life.
If you’re considering climbing Kilimanjaro, going on safari, or doing any expedition in northern Tanzania, I would 1000000% recommend this company. Mafie is truly exceptional at what they do.

I did a 6 day Kilimanjaro climb and a 4 day safari with Mafie in March 2026. Everything was well organised including the hotel before and after each event and I always had a driver waiting for me whether it was from the airport or from/to my hotel from safari or Kilimanjaro. My Kilimanjaro guide Oliver, chef and porters were excellent and I couldn’t have asked any more of them they made sure I was comfortable and healthy during the whole trip. My safari guide was also very knowledgeable and I saw all the animals I wanted to see even in low season. Overall my experience with Mafie was 10/10 and I would highly recommend.

A punctual, reliable and overall perfect experience
We had a lovely one day trip to Ngorongoro crater with Mafie Adventures. We got picked up on time and arrived at the safari car who left right away. No waiting time!
Before entering the crater we had a warm breakfast and later a healthy lunch at a picnic site.
I forgot my glasses in the car after a long day and Mafie Adventures sent them to Mwanza within 24 hours. Overall a perfect experience and no complains from us!
