Top quality safari guide, delicious meals, overall a great value.
5/5

Our guide was knowledgeable while flexible and our private chef prepared delicious meals 3 times per day. The best price we could find and overall a great value.

One day, our group of four guys walked around Crater Lake and spent the night at a nice cabin by the lake. Then, for 3 days we were driven around the Maasai Mara park in the safari van, sleeping for two nights in a nice camp with generators to provide hot water and electricity in the mornings and evenings.

Our guide was really knowledgeable about all the wildlife and went the extra mile so that we could see a cheetah up close and personal. Our chef prepared a variety of delicious Kenyan meals and hung out with us at night. Highly recommend Kenya Walking safaris, an unforgettable experience.

Quick response with good service and very affordable price.
5/5

This trip to Kenya & Tanzania was fantastic, all the hotels we have stayed were excellent, all with different and new experience. And the tour operator's quick response with good service and very affordable price. The best time to Visit Massai Mara End of July and August. All other places ( Naiversha, Amboseli, Manyara & Serengeti are just average places). If someone is planning for exploring wildlife alone, the best place would be Massai Mara (3-4 Days) and if you want to explore more places then Naiversha(1day), Amboseli(1day), Ngorongoro(1day) and Serengeti(2 days) would be better option. You will have to travell a lot, so be prepared for this. Also note: older USD notes before 2004 will not be accepted in Kenya, so make sure you have USD currency printed after 2004.

No worries. Great service and Safari trip!
5/5

My husband and I went on a 13 day safari with Kenya Walking Survivor’s and we were extremely happy with every aspect of the trip. As others have stated, I too was leery about wiring so much money to an unknown person in Kenya, but rest assured, Mr. Otieno is very ethical and will go to all lengths to make your trip spectacular. Our plane arrived and departed in the wee hours of the night and he provided transportation each time. We had such a great guide (Ochieng) who was focused on providing us with the best views and photos of all of the animals. Not only was he the first to spot the animals, we were finished viewing them before other vans came upon the same viewing spot. We were on our way to another spotting by the time the competitor’s guides came along. He was very knowledgeable too about all of the animals and the country of Kenya. Our accommodations were top of the line. I know with Kenya Walking, you can choose to tent it, but we chose the tented camps and lodges which were very luxurious. We literally had linen table clothes and a 5 course meal out in the middle of the Serengeti when we went to Tanzania. Mr. Otieno is very accessible too. When we were leaving, we accidentally left our cameral in the drop-off car. I had to call Mr. Otieno at 2:30 AM and he answered and called the driver to return to the airport with our camera. He couldn't be more attentive to his clients. The food at all of our lodges and tented camps included a wide variety of Western food and some African selections. It was delicious. They will provide all the bottled water for you on your safari. You only have to purchase alcoholic or soft drinks, if you choose those. He really listens to the clients’ feedback too because there was one hotel in Naivasha that we mentioned we didn’t like to our guide and before the end of our trip, the word got back to Mr. Otieno and he had already changed the Chester hotel to another tented camp for that location. I cannot stress enough how nice these tented campsites are. It was like we were the rich and famous on a safari. He said he negotiates rates, so he can get them much cheaper than if the customer books it directly. I was afraid since his rates were lower than the other companies that I would get sub-par safari, but that wasn't the case at all. Overall, I would rate our experience as 5+++! Since we had 13 days for our trip, the only thing I would do differently is I think I would choose to go see the gorillas. I heard from other people along the way that it was super cool to see them. We met the guide who specializes in those tours and his name is Martin. He was great too, although we only had him drive us back from the border to Nairobi. You can’t go wrong with this company.

Friendly Service. Responsive Team.
5/5

We took a package tour starting July 27th for nine days, and were very satisfied with the service. Otieno (OT; the owner) is a great guy. As a young entrepreneur, he understands the value of responsiveness. His service is excellent! His standard response to any request is "no problem." The driver we had, Nguta, was exceptional too. Smart guy; and you never had to ask him for anything. He was always proactive. He also was good about getting the best possible viewpoints during the game safari. In fact, Kenya Walking upgraded us, and all that at a great budget price. Wholeheartedly recommend it.

Excellent Safari - Great Value
5/5

The 6 day Hells Gate - Masai Mara, Kenya Walking Survivors Safari has been the highlight of my 5 week East African Odessey. For a budget trip the safari exceeded my expectations:- accommodation was excellent; meals prepared by cook - excellent; guides knowledgeable, friendly and flexible.
Most importantly Mr Otieno returned emails and responded to questions in a timely and helpful manner. I have no hesitation in recommending this company and if good fortune brings me back to this part of the world I will definatly book with them again.

This is a trusted tour operator that provides high quality services and lives up to own promises.
5/5

This operator offers quality services for a very acceptable price. All of the promises were fulfilled and expectations live up to. The preparation for the trip was well communicated. Had the most wonderful driver who knew the best Safari places and great cook. Additional things that might have come up during the trip were accommodated. Experienced no inconveniences. A very personal and genuine group of devoted individuals.

Great experience - a lifetime safari trip
5/5

We have a good safari trip with KWSS.
OTIENO - a great boss to be touch with us via email and talked with me in Skype , very patient and experienced, cares a lot about his clients and resolve issues quickly .
MARTIN, a smiling sunshine driver to pick up us from airport and never said no to his clients. CELIMENT, a good driver with 17 years safari driving experience, we have seen many animals and many birds in Kenya, such as Big Five in east Africa. Everymorning he was always careful to wrapped our luggages with blanket to dust. It's very goody. The cook in Maasai Mala, did an excellent mushroom soup. but we are very sorry for less TIP to him because we didn't know that he cooked just for us.
The driver in Tanzania with good experience. we had seen many elephants and lions closely.
The sunset view was as beautiful as a good dream in Serengeti N.P. About staying overnight, The tented camp in Maasai Mala is simple and crude with fulltime hotwater and 6 hours electricity everyday, other camps and lodges are very great. I especially enjoyed IKOMA TENTED CAMP in Serengeti N.P, it's very nature and comfortbal with delicious food.
Thanks a lot for KWSS again to us a great experience.

Excellent trip during the great migration
5/5

My friend and I did a two day safari in the Masai Mara during the great migration - we had an amazing time and saw many animals! We very much enjoyed our trip and felt it was excellent for the price. We thought we'd be staying in economical tents when we were staying in what felt like luxury camp sites! Would highly recommend - also, dealing with the owner was extremely easy and he was very responsive to all questions and concerns.
