The review below is the personal opinion of Chris Scholtz and not that of SafariBookings.
Disappointing
2/5

Day i got the departure date wrong by 3 days and told the driver it was our fault.had to change the first 5 days of the itinerary to fit thechimp tracking permits booked in March.
Driver late by One hour on first day.
Driver liked to drive fast even on game drives, had to be told repeatedly to slow down .
Wasted a lot ( up to 45 mins) at Park gates on numerous occassions.
Were put in lesser accomodation in Enjojo camp according to our receipt.
Owed one lunch on a long day, just never got it.
Driver was totally disrespectful of my wife, never addressing her by her name and calling her”she”.
On the last night we complained about a wet messy bed and the driver joined the manageress in blaming my wife, straight away with no evidence.(look up Rushaga lodge reviews and see that this had happened before).Ido not think that there is a worse insult to make in the safari world. We are in our seventies and my wife does not “ leak”.
The vehicle had the rear windows(our viewing windows) covered in a dark tint which was hard to see through.Only one rear window was working and the exhaust gasses came in through the tailgate door.

Dear Scholtz,
Thank you for your response about your trip. However in our response about your feedback on your trip you had with us;
First I will have to say it's not in defense but set out the facts right. Our team always takes full responsibility where we have gone wrong and do our best to rectify that when we still can once notified to ensure all our clients enjoy their trip to the very best.
I have to appreciate you for taking into account about the issue of the mix up of dates in this review opposed to the other review which was totally blamed on us which didn't have to be the case and hence because of the change, the program for the movement of your itinerary in the first 5 days was as well affected so that we can have the activities done without losing out on the payments that where already made that could mean late cancellations which means zero refunds from the different service providers and so we had to find a way to fit in without missing any single activity.
About the issue of late driver, our driver guide on this specific day the driver informed you of the departure from the hotel to be 7:30am our tracking system for the vehicle showed he was their at 6:35am. When I received your email it was 7:38am informing me you're waiting for him and I contacted him immediately only to hear him briefing you as I was on call as you departed at 7:40am however, this will further be investigated to get to the bottom of it since we are receiving these reports for the first time about our guide considering the number of trips and client he has handled and our sincere apologies for any inappropriate behavior as we further investigate about all what transpired on your trip.

The delays on the park gates, I send our since apologies as this is as a result of UWA systems that happen at times to be slow when clearing us for entries which is out of our control but fully in the hands of Uganda Wildlife Authority.
The lunch you missed after the different inquiries made, I was informed it was the lunch you where supposed to have at Enjojo lodge after the chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura however you chose to cancel it out even after being requested to place your orders but it had already been paid incase there is any besides that please air it out if you didn't cancel it and the company will have it compensated.

About the issue of the wet messy bed in Rushaga, I have to say videos and pictures of the bed and the beddings where shared after you raised your complaint in the morning, I have to say it wasn't just a wet messy bed I find it really embarrassing to type the word here but with how it looked I have to say it is had to believe that someone can accept to sleep in a bed that messy overnight and wait to raise the issue in the morning. My statement will sound insulting but as much as you might be unsatisfied some where my request is that let's be more transparent and state the facts that transpired during the trip if we choose to state them and also take into account where we are wrong.
And about the dark windows our sincere apologies and this was handled and where removed and for the rest the issues our sincere apologies that it might have happened as our mechanics are still investigating these since nothing was realized by the time the vehicle got back from your trip. Our vehicles are always checked by our mechanics before and after the trip however, we can't deny that they can breakdown at anytime since they are machines.

Finally as a company we accept and appreciate negative feedback when it happens to be there which also helps us to improve the services we deliver to our clients since our focus is to provide exciting and memorable experiences however our request is please let it be transparent and factual.

An unforgettable journey with enthusiast guide and responsive team.
5/5

I had an amazing experience with this tour company and would highly recommend them to anyone visiting Uganda.
Our guide, Gerald, was outstanding. He shared a wealth of knowledge about Uganda’s wildlife, plants, and local culture, which made the trip both educational and enjoyable. He even shared fresh jackfruit and mangoes with us, giving us a genuine taste of local life. Thanks to his experience and expertise, we were fortunate enough to see both tree-climbing lions and a leopard in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Gerald is truly a knowledgeable and professional guide.

The tour company was also incredibly supportive throughout our trip. Due to the Israel-Iran conflict and concerns related to the Ebola outbreak, our flights were changed multiple times. Abraham was always responsive and helped us adjust our itinerary whenever needed. Despite all the travel disruptions, he ensured that we were still able to visit both the gorillas, golden monkeys, and chimpanzees as planned.

Thank you to Gerald, Abraham, and the entire team for making this trip such a memorable experience!

A safe and amazing experience

The tour operator made every effort to make me feel safe as a solo female traveler. The local guide was brilliant and the experience was as calm and tranquil as I had hoped. Just be prepared for some serious pot holes on the road to the water.

Fantastic.

We ventured into Uganda as we wanted to see gorillas and we certainly did. A whole generation of a family in fact. From the big silverback boss down to a couple of babies.
The pre Trek entertainment by the local dance group, the excellent briefing by our guides and the incredible work the trackers had done really early in the morning to ensure we would get to see these beautiful creatures was very much appreciated. Doing it in late. April to Early May, the weather was perfect...cool, a little drizzly and foggy, but it just added to the experience.
Our other activities such as the Batwa Cultural Trail which gave a brilliant onsite of this country's culture as well as meeting the local children and joining in with dancing, singing and other activities so you could actually get a real feel of how they live.
I can highly recommend Moroka Exhibition and our fabulous guide Abraham who has so much knowledge of Uganda and the culture was incredible. Many memories made for sure and well worth doing if you want to get up close and personal with these beautiful creatures. Great value and fabulous experience for sure

Professional and friendly

Communication with Abraham to plan the trip was excellent. My guide Moses was enthusiastic and made sure I had the opportunity to make the most of my two day visit to Lake Mburo national park. I couldn't believe how many animals and birds we saw in a short time. The lodge (Rwakobo) was lovely. It was described as "mid range" when I planned the trip but this undersells it in my view.

Abraham is reliable, responsible, intelligent, and courteous.
5/5

I had an incredible experience. I wish i had gone there first .After a week on another tour, I was tired and hot. But the experience provided by Moroka was fantastic and Abraham made sure my trip was safe and eventful. I will cherish the memories. One caveat, if you enter from Kenya on an East African visa make sure the people in Kenya stamp your
passport.

Very nice tour

The guide was very friendly, the accommodation was nice, and the walk for the Gorillaz was very short. I went as a solo traveler and would recommend it.

Perfect 4-day experience in Kidepo valley
5/5

I went with Moroka Expeditions to 4-day Kidepo valley trek this October and I can recommend them to everyone. All the things were perfectly organized - they picked me up at the hotel and everything was very smooth during the whole trip. I also wanted to visit some local community and they also organized that. My guide William was friendly, professional and also very knowledgable - he is the birdwatcher but knows a lot about all kinds of animals and it was great to learn something new with each trip to the park. Also the car was in top condition which is a necessity in the park and Karamoja region (it is not always like that with other companies as I found out on other trips).

Thanks a lot to the whole team and especially William for allowing me to do this trip. Hopefully it was not the last time I visited this region.

Excellent
5/5

Communication was great from the start. Price compared favourably to other companies. The vehicle, accommodation, and food were all great. Loved the Nile river cruise. Saw all the animals who wanted to accept a leopard, which are very hard to spot. Stunning scenery. Our driver was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend recommended
