A safari company that truly cares — about its guests, wildlife and the experience.
From our very first contact back in the Netherlands, we had a really good feeling about this company — and our trip only confirmed that.
Before the trip, everything was easy to arrange via the app and by phone. They were flexible, helpful and even picking us up from the friends we were staying with in Kenya was no problem at all. The price also stood out in a very positive way. We compared several safari companies, and their price was significantly more competitive and, above all, realistic — without compromising on quality.
And then we got Evans Ngeno as our driver and guide.
For six days, he was there for us and took care of everything. What impressed us most was his incredible knowledge of nature and animal behaviour. He knew how to read the animals and could often predict where they were going to move next. As a result, he was often in exactly the right place at exactly the right time — and so were we. This led to some incredible wildlife encounters and amazing photo opportunities.
He also showed genuine respect for nature, the animals and his fellow guides. There was no chasing animals just to get a photo or trying to get to the front at all costs. Instead, there was patience, knowledge and respect. Exactly how we believe a safari should be experienced.
When we ran into problems with one of our accommodations, Evans was immediately there for us. He helped us think through the situation, made calls, tried to arrange solutions and made sure we were not left to deal with it on our own. It is in moments like these that you realise someone is not simply doing their job — they genuinely feel responsible for the people in their care.
We had six fantastic days and look back on a safari we will never forget. The combination of personal attention, flexibility, knowledge, respect for nature and excellent value for money means we can absolutely recommend this company.

Unforgettable 8-Day Private Kenya Wildlife Safari with an Outstanding Team
I just returned from an incredible 8-day private tour of Kenya with Green Places Adventures, visiting Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, and Amboseli. Going into this, I picked them without any prior references and didn't know quite what to expect, but I got extremely lucky—these guys are awesome!
From the start, my initial interactions with Elijah were excellent. He met me on both my first and last days and was extremely friendly, professional, attentive, and very easy to work with.
My tour guide, Jaktone, was exceptionally knowledgeable and experienced. He always managed to have me in the right spots at the right times, and thanks to his expertise in positioning the vehicle, I captured beautiful sunrise and sunset photos.
Accommodations & Advice:
I stayed at the Sopa lodges in Mara, Nakuru, and Amboseli. Overall, they were all comfortable with excellent food and impeccable, friendly service from the staff. Sopa Nakuru stood out as an awesome, newer property with amazing views of the lake.
My only specific recommendation is to consider a different property in Masai Mara. While Sopa Lodge Mara was clean, comfortable, and did the job, the rooms and bathrooms felt very old and tired. If possible, I'd also recommend picking a property inside the park.
That said, if you are doing all-day game drives, accommodation priority really depends on your travel style:
Packed Itinerary: If you are out on full-day drives, you come back late and tired, eat dinner, shower, sleep, and repeat. In that case, spending top dollar on luxury lodging isn't necessary because you won't be at the property long enough to enjoy it. Sopa Lodges were more than adequate for this.
Relaxed Pace: If you prefer building in downtime—like doing only a morning or evening drive and spending half the day relaxing at the resort—then investing more in your accommodation makes sense.
I was there primarily for the wildlife, and Green Places Adventures delivered a seamless, top-notch experience. I highly recommend them!

Exceptional Safari with an Outstanding Guide, Alex!
We had an unforgettable safari with Green Places Adventures. From the start, communication was smooth and professional, and everything was well organized and reliable. Our guide, Alex, was simply outstanding—knowledgeable, patient, and passionate. Thanks to him, we enjoyed incredible wildlife sightings and learned so much about the landscapes and culture. Wonderful Safari Experience Beyond Our Expectations
We had a truly wonderful safari experience in Kenya - Masai Mara Lake Nakuru - and could not have been happier with the organisation of the entire trip.
Everything was carefully planned down to the smallest detail, allowing us to simply relax and enjoy the experience from beginning to end. The itinerary was very well organised before our arrival, and everything ran smoothly throughout the trip.
A special mention goes to our guide, who accompanied us for four days and played a huge part in making our safari so memorable. He was always attentive to our needs, kind and discreet, as well as extremely knowledgeable and professional during the game drives. His experience and knowledge of the wildlife made every drive interesting and exciting, and we always felt that he was doing his very best to make our experience special.
The lodges where we stayed (both Sopa Lodges) were beautiful, comfortable and very well chosen. We also really enjoyed the food, which was excellent throughout the trip. The staff at each lodge were welcoming, attentive and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable.
Overall, the whole safari exceeded our expectations. We felt very well looked after at every stage of the journey and really appreciated the care, professionalism and attention to detail that went into organising it.
We would highly recommend this tour operator to anyone planning a safari in Kenya. It was an unforgettable experience and one that we will remember for a very long time!

6 Day Honeymoon Safari
We recently returned from an incredible 6-day safari visiting Amboseli, Lake Nakuru and the Masai Mara, and we couldn’t recommend Green Places Adventures enough!
From our initial contact with Elijah, the whole planning process was smooth and stress-free. Elijah was friendly and helpful throughout, and he even came to meet us at our hotel before the trip, which was a lovely personal touch and gave us great confidence ahead of our adventure.
Our driver, Evans, was absolutely fantastic. He was so friendly and knowledgeable, and his 16 years of experience really shone through throughout our trip. Thanks to him, we were lucky enough to see the Big Five! He was also incredibly patient and flexible, allowing us to spend as much or as little time as we wanted at each sighting, which made the whole experience even more special.
All the hotels were lovely, with super-friendly and accommodating staff who made us feel welcome throughout our stay.
The hot-air balloon ride over the Masai Mara was a truly spectacular way to finish our safari and made an already unforgettable trip even more special.
We feel incredibly lucky to have had such an amazing experience and are so grateful to Elijah, Evans and the whole Green Places Adventures team for making our safari so memorable. We would highly recommend them to anyone planning a safari in Kenya!
