Excellent from start to finish!
When we first reached out to Splendid Vacations, we felt excited and confident in the tour operators. Rachael had excellent communication throughout the whole booking process, providing a detailed itinerary and making changes promptly when needed.
From the moment our guide and driver, Willy, picked us up from the airport - we felt so welcomed and taken care of. Willy truly made our trip magical and it was smooth and well planned from start to finish! Willy has so much knowledge about each place we visited and each animal we saw, and every day was wonderful and memorable! He went above and beyond to exceed all our expectations. We couldn’t recommend Splendid Vacations and Willy enough - it was an unforgettable and smooth week in Kenya!

Incredibly knowledgeable and comforting.
My wife and I travelled with Splendid on a one week tour. Our driver was Willy and he was a massive reason why our trip was so successful. His knowledge about the animals, areas and his understanding of what we wanted out of the trip. We were never in a rush anywhere and always arrived ahead of time. Willy’s guidance all week was incredibly professional and we would highly reccomend him for anybody travelling with Splendid. The tour company provided a new truck with ample space for us and our bags. This could easily fit 4-6 people comfortably. From start to finish, the communications from the company and Willy was second to none. A hugely enjoyable experience with an incredible tour company. Thanks team.

There are a number of companies out there offering these services, and most go with package deals often paying way more. The initial quotes and detailed itinerary, combined with great communication gave me the confidence to book directly with a company I felt knew what they were doing, and that we would have a good experience. The Fastest Service!
We were at Kenya on September 2025, and I've been going to Africa since 2009, working countless tour companies, but Splendid Vacations are by far the fastest company to answer my queries. After I sent the first mail requesting a price for a private safari, Alice answered it, and I had my price, hotel reservations (in high season), full itinerary in two days. Usually it used to take at least a week to decide hotels, etc. It was too good to be true, so I was hesitant till the agent met us at the airport :). Everything was on time, as promised. Our guide Willy was great, he knows the area and animals very well, and as a native Nairobian, on the last day, he took us all the shopping places we need. Splendid Vacations is a Kenya company, and all the agents you talk live in Kenya. Before that, for some other companies, I had to talk with some people in Portugal, Spain. They don't know about the hotels (or knows as much as I do from the net), but Alice even knew people at the hotel and she talked them when I call her for some problems. She was very easily accessible during the safari. I recommend them for anybody. My friends with me had their first safari experience (mine was the 20th) and they had unforgettable times. Professional reliable and operator
Our safari with Splendid Vacations Africa was absolutely amazing! From the very beginning, the company really stood out among all operators by carefully listening to my briefing and customizing the trip exactly to my wishes — and within my budget.
The organization was smooth and professional throughout, with fast and clear communication from my tour contact, James. Our guide, Julius, was wonderful — professional, incredibly knowledgeable, and kind. My son was a very big fan of Julius.
The safari itself was an unforgettable experience, perfectly balanced between visits to the lakes and the Masai Mara. We were lucky enough to see the Big Five and many more animals, and the variety of activities — walking, biking, boating, and game drives — made every day exciting and different.
I can only highly recommend Splendid Vacations to anyone looking for a personalized, well-organized, and truly memorable safari adventure!

Well-organized safari trip by a great company
*Booking*
We were looking for a safari company in Kenya for our honeymoon, and Splendid Vacations Africa offered us the most complete and detailed proposal. Maryann Lucky assisted us with great patience, helping us choose the best hotels and advising us on the most suitable itinerary.
Our route, starting from Nairobi:
- Amboseli (2 nights)
- Naivasha (1 night)
- Crescent Island → Nakuru (1 night)
- Masai Mara (3 nights)
*Payment*
The payment was made online in advance via Pesapal, with no extra fees, which was very convenient for us. Maryann promptly provided a receipt, and we didn’t need to present any documentation at the camps or lodges.
*Vehicle*
We chose the private 4x4 Land Cruiser option. The vehicle was in good condition and very comfortable throughout the safari. It was thoroughly cleaned twice during the trip, which we appreciated.
*Guide*
We requested a Spanish-speaking guide for our comfort, and that was arranged. Alex Masila, our assigned guide, had over 10 years of experience and navigated the parks with confidence. He also had good connections with other guides, which was helpful during wildlife sightings.
However, we felt that his attitude was rude at times. While we managed to see the Big Five and benefited from his expertise, he scheduled shorter safari times than other couples we met, which was a bit disappointing. This aspect kept our experience from being truly 5-star.

Unforgettable safari trip with the best guide
We had the best time with Splendid Vacations in Kenya. The team is responsive, accommodative and patient with our questions when we were discussing the itinerary. Everything during the trip was very smooth. Special thanks to our amazing guide/driver /zoologist/comedian/ photographer/Jack-of-all-trades James. He is an excellent driver able to navigate all sorts of terrains. His knowledge about animals and when/where to spot them is incomparable—we are always among the first batches to arrive at the scene of elephant crossing, leopard in the bushes, or even the hunting scene! James takes marvellous photos, and I learnt that he takes a special interest in photography. On the last day, we were stuck in traffic because of a protest. Just as we started to get worried about missing the flight, amazing James found a countryside road to get us out of the traffic! James is indeed full of surprises.

A Splendid and Unforgettable Safari Tour!
Splendid Vacations is a truly outstanding travel agency that I highly recommend. Our agent, Rachael, was incredibly responsive and patient, always answering my questions quickly and thoroughly. She paid close attention to every detail—for example, knowing that our flight out of Kenya was scheduled in the afternoon on our last day, she thoughtfully advised us to end our itinerary in Amboseli instead of Masai Mara, which only has one road in and out, in case of any unexpected delays.
The accommodations arranged by Splendid Vacations were all excellent! For example our group of six stayed three nights at Mara Enkaji Lodge, which has extremely beautiful surroundings, a very comfortable atmosphere, and a warm, welcoming staff. We were absolutely thrilled with our stay there and appreciate the arrangements!
Our guide, Rono, was exceptionally experienced and made the trip truly enriching! He shared numerous fascinating animal facts and navigated challenging terrain with great skill. After a heavy rain in Masai Mara, the roads became muddy and slippery, but Rono's expert driving made us feel really safe. He even managed to spot a leopard in an totally unexpected location and brought us right to the action—we got to witness the iconic river crossing and even a thrilling hunting scene as well!!
What impressed me the most was Rono’s extraordinary ability to predict animal movements and position us in the perfect spots for capturing unforgettable footage. His deep understanding of animal behavior and sharp photographic instincts allowed us to take some truly amazing videos from ideal angles.
All in all, I wholeheartedly recommend Splendid Vacations for creating such a splendid and unforgettable safari experience for us!

Perfectly splendid
Splendid Vacations managed not only to help us out when another firm had gone under right before our booked safari, but also make our vacation totally splendid. Originally we booked our safari with another firm that went out of business without any notice and left us stranded in Nairobi with no idea what to do next, but contacting Splendid Vacations changed everything. Not only did they take over our safari, but they managed to organize it so fast that just a few hours after first contacting them we were already on our way to Amboseli. We couldn't believe it, but the day we were totally sure would be lost ended up being one of the best days of our new safari adventure. I just cannot thank Rachael Mulee, a safari consultant from Splendid Vacations, enough for saving our vacation and organizing everything on such a short notice. And of course our driver and guide David Muteti played the biggest role in making our trip absolutely unforgettable. We saw everything we hoped we would and much, much more. Herds of elephants, a full pride of lions, hundreds of zebras, pink flamingos and even a resting cheetah, it was amazing. This vacation has been one of the best experiences of my life and I thank Splendid Vacations for making it possible. Great job!
