Truly Unforgettable
My wife and I recently completed an incredible 11-day safari adventure in Tanzania with Akondo Adventures, and it exceeded all of our expectations.
From the very beginning, Philip was an outstanding travel agent. He was responsive, professional, and helped create an itinerary that made our anniversary trip truly unforgettable. His attention to detail and commitment to making sure everything went smoothly gave us confidence throughout the entire planning process.
Our safari guide, Richard, was absolutely exceptional. His passion for wildlife and love for his job were evident every single day. We were amazed by his knowledge of the animals we viewed throughout the trip. Most importantly, he was determined to help us achieve our bucket-list goal of seeing the Big Five, and thanks to his expertise and dedication, we successfully saw all of the big five! Richard’s experience gave up incredible viewing opportunities made the safari experience even more special.
We also experienced an unexpected challenge when our luggage was delayed and didn’t arrive until two days after we landed. Thankfully, our transfer driver Ezekiel was incredibly kind, patient, and helpful. What could have been a stressful situation became much easier to manage because of his caring attitude and willingness to assist us every step of the way.
The entire Akondo Adventures team went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing experience. From the planning stage to the final day of our trip, we felt genuinely cared for and well taken care of. We highly recommend Akondo Adventures to anyone considering a safari in Tanzania. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that we will never forget!

An Unforgettable Tanzania Safari & Zanzibar Adventure with Akondo Adventures
My husband and I recently completed an incredible Tanzania safari and Zanzibar beach vacation with Akondo Adventures in June 2026, and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we started planning until the day we flew home, everything was seamless, professional, and unforgettable.
A huge thank you to Philip, our travel agent, who was incredibly responsive throughout the entire booking process. Despite the time difference between California and Tanzania, he always replied quickly, answered every question thoroughly, and even helped with last-minute packing questions just days before departure. His excellent communication gave us confidence that we had chosen the right company.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by our transfer driver, Ezekiel, who made us feel welcome immediately. He was friendly, punctual, and ensured every transfer was smooth and comfortable.
Our safari guide, Richard, was truly exceptional and played a huge role in making this trip so memorable. His knowledge of wildlife, ecosystems, local culture, and animal behavior was remarkable. He had an incredible ability to spot animals from great distances and always positioned the vehicle perfectly for viewing and photography. Thanks to Richard, we enjoyed unforgettable game drives and incredible wildlife encounters throughout our journey.
The itinerary itself was perfectly designed, combining some of Tanzania's most iconic safari destinations with a relaxing beach getaway in Zanzibar. We experienced the beauty of Tarangire National Park, the vast plains of the Serengeti, and the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater before ending our adventure on the stunning beaches of Zanzibar. It was the perfect balance of excitement, wildlife, scenery, and relaxation.
The accommodations throughout the trip were excellent, and every detail was thoughtfully planned. We never had to worry about logistics, allowing us to fully enjoy the experience and focus on creating lifelong memories.
What stood out most was Akondo Adventures' attention to detail and genuine commitment to providing exceptional service. Every aspect of the trip felt personalized, organized, and stress-free.

An Absolutely Unforgettable Safari Experience
Our 5-day private safari with Akondo Adventures was truly the trip of a lifetime and exceeded all our expectations.
From the very beginning, the communication and planning were outstanding. The team always responded quickly, was incredibly friendly, and took all of our wishes into account. Our safari was completely customized to our preferences, and everything was organized perfectly.
We spent one day in Tarangire National Park, one day in the Ngorongoro Crater, and three days in the Serengeti. Our guide was exceptional – knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and passionate about his work. He answered every question we had, shared fascinating insights about the wildlife and nature, and always adapted the experience to our interests. Thanks to him, we had countless incredible wildlife sightings.
One of the biggest surprises was that a photographer accompanied us during the safari. We had no idea this was included. He captured beautiful photos of both the wildlife and us throughout the trip and is even creating a documentary-style video from the footage and photos. This was such a special and unexpected addition to our experience.
The accommodations were outstanding. Every lodge and camp was beautiful, comfortable, and of very high quality. One of our lodges even had a private pool, which was an amazing surprise. The food throughout the safari was excellent, and the staff at every accommodation made us feel genuinely welcome.
Another unforgettable highlight was a day in an open safari vehicle that was specially arranged for us. This was never mentioned beforehand and was an incredible surprise. It made the wildlife experience even more immersive and exciting. On that day, the photographer even traveled in a separate vehicle with his own driver to capture photos of us while we were out on safari – a level of service we never expected.
We also enjoyed a bush lunch right in the middle of the wilderness, another wonderful surprise that became one of our favorite memories from the trip.
Just two days before arriving, we decided to book a hot air balloon safari. Despite the short notice, Akondo organized everything seamlessly. The coordination was perfect, and the balloon safari itself was worth every penny. It was one of the most breathtaking experiences we have ever had and is something we would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Serengeti.
We would also like to give special thanks to the owner of Akondo Adventures. He personally welcomed us at the beginning of our safari and even came to the airport on our final day to say goodbye and ask for feedback. This level of personal care and dedication is incredibly rare and left a lasting impression on us.
Throughout the entire trip, we felt completely taken care of. Everything was professional, smooth, and perfectly organized, while still feeling warm, personal, and authentic.
Thank you to everyone at Akondo Adventures for creating such an unforgettable experience. We cannot recommend this company highly enough and would not hesitate to book with them again in the future.

Unforgettable!
An all-round incredible experience! David was an amazing tour guide for myself and my partner visiting Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara. David was so experienced and knowledgeable about all of the animals and answered every and all questions that we had. He was able to get us to the best spots up close to more than 30 lions, so many elephants, rhinos, buffalo, hippos and so many more. David was so friendly, kept us laughing along the drives and made us both feel very comfortable - would highly recommend him as a very experienced guide!
Boris at Akondo was excellent from start to finish with arranging our safari, organising our beautiful lodge at Kinkari, all transfers, amazing lunches and even a birthday cake!
Thank you for making this trip so special, you truly went above and beyond for us!

Magical experience!
We booked a 3 day safari across Tarangire, Ngorogoro Crater and Lake Manyara. We were really struggling to decide who to book through as the amount of safari companies out there was overwhelming. We didn't know anyone that had been on a safari previously to recommend us, and so we did our research and looked through the reviews of a lot of different companies, and to us Akondo stuck out. And we're so glad we went with them!
Boris helped us organise it from the beginning and answered any questions that I had. He helped put a personalised package together with our wishes and needs. Boris met us at the airport at the start of the tour, and he met us again at the airport as we were leaving to say goodbye.
Our tour guide was Laurian and he was amazing! We booked a private tour, so it was just the three of us for the 3 days and Laurian became a friend, we laughed and joked and had such a great time!
Laurian was able to recommend us places to get certain gifts and items which we wanted to buy.
We were able to see 4 of the Big 5! We had some extremely close encounters with Elephants and Lions!
It was a truly magical experience and having Laurian as our tour guide completed it for us!
Laurian was extremely knowledgeable. We learnt so much from him and he was able to spot animals, even from so far away! For example, he spotted a black rhino in the distance! Many animals we wouldn't have spotted if it wasn't for Laurian!
The ride was comfortable and we have no complaints whatsoever!
We will be back, and we'll be using Akondo again, especially asking for Laurian!!!! We would love to see the great migration at Serengeti next time!

We chose Akondo Adventures, and what a great choice it was! Boris handled the organization beautifully; he was attentive from the very start, tailoring everything to my vision of a safari adventure—prioritizing our comfort and optimizing our routes to see the most wildlife and make the most of our time. We needed a Spanish-speaking guide, and we certainly got one! His name was Richard; he was friendly, funny, attentive, and highly professional. He managed to fulfill our wishes regarding what we wanted to see throughout the safari. He was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing stories and explaining the "whys" behind everything we saw—from animal feeding habits to other fascinating details. For our final night, Akondo treated us to luxury accommodation as a honeymoon surprise—just as they had welcomed us with a beautiful photo of us mounted on the spare tire. We stayed in a luxury cabin surrounded by wildlife. We even visited a Maasai tribe and saw how they live—an extraordinary experience! To top it all off, our final day featured the "Miracle Experience," which was INCREDIBLE. We were surprised to have a personal photographer, Samuel, with us for the entire safari. He became another friend—so kind, attentive, and professional. I’m giving 5 stars, but I’d love to give 10✨. We’ll be back with them another year to explore the Serengeti.

Fantastic
A very good experience, excellent service, the guide was very attentive and friendly, and there were many amenities. I would definitely repeat the experience, but preferably in July, as we came in June and the grass was very long, making it a bit difficult for us to see the animals.

Beyond exceptional – A flawless luxury honeymoon experience!
I rarely write reviews, but the service we received from Akondo Adventures was so far beyond exceptional that I have to share. For our honeymoon, we did a 3-day tour covering Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro, and it was flawlessly executed from the moment we started planning.
Boris, the owner, handles the organization with incredible precision and attention to detail. His pricing is very fair, and the value you get is truly premium. He took it upon himself to add some magical touches for our honeymoon, including a complete surprise—our wedding photo beautifully displayed on the back of our safari jeep! Boris is also incredibly well-connected; the luxury lodges he lined up for us were outstanding, and the staff at each property treated us with a level of hospitality that exceeded all expectations. Every logistical detail was handled with zero mistakes.
Then there was our guide, Richard, who was a total professional and an absolute joy to be around. He was waiting for us right at the airport with cold drinks and refreshments, setting the tone for the entire trip. Richard’s knowledge of the wild is mind-blowing—he didn't just spot animals, he explained their behaviors and life cycles in a way that made the experience so much richer. Thanks to him, we checked off the Big Five and enjoyed jaw-dropping, close-up encounters with lions, leopards, and cheetahs.
