Exceptional 11-Day Uganda Safari - Book with Confidence!
We have just returned from an incredible 11-day safari across Uganda with Wild Uganda Safaris, and I honestly cannot recommend them highly enough.
Like many UK travellers, I was initially a little apprehensive about booking directly with a company based overseas rather than using a UK tour operator. However, I can say without hesitation that Wild Uganda Safaris are completely legitimate, professional and trustworthy. From start to finish, everything was handled exceptionally well, and any concerns I had disappeared very quickly.
A special thank you to Ernest, who helped us put together an itinerary that worked perfectly within our budget while still maximising the wildlife experiences and activities. He was responsive, helpful and clearly understood exactly what we wanted from our trip.
The safari itself exceeded all expectations. Our guide and driver, Kasim, was absolutely fantastic throughout the entire trip. He immediately made us feel comfortable, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and was an excellent driver on some challenging roads. What really stood out was how much effort he put into ensuring we had the best possible experience. He frequently went above and beyond, adding extra stops and opportunities so that we could see even more wildlife and make the most of our time in Uganda.
Thanks to Kasim's expertise and determination, we were fortunate enough to see an unbelievable variety of wildlife. Highlights included lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, rhinos, jackals, hyenas and countless other animals. We were also lucky enough to see the incredible shoebill, which was a real bucket-list sighting.
For me personally, the primate experiences were unforgettable. Trekking to see the mountain gorillas was every bit as amazing as I had hoped, while spending time with chimpanzees and golden monkeys was equally memorable. The golden monkeys were an absolute highlight of the trip and something I will never forget.
Every day seemed to bring a new adventure, a new landscape and another incredible wildlife encounter. Uganda is a truly beautiful country, and Wild Uganda Safaris did a superb job of showcasing its diversity, wildlife and culture.
If you are considering a safari in Uganda, especially if you are coming from the UK and are unsure about booking direct, my advice would be simple: don't hesitate. Wild Uganda Safaris delivered an exceptional experience, excellent value for money and service that exceeded our expectations in every way.

Professional organization + amazing guide
We are glad that we chose WildUganda to organize our trip in Uganda. The communication was very professional and they organized our trip very well in advance.
On the first day we met our guide Kasim. Kasim is an excellent guide and the reason safaribooking should add a 6th star. Kasim is a very enthusiastic guide with a passion for nature. He is a guide willing to go that extra mile to give you the best experience in Uganda. After a morning gamedrive + boat cruise on the Kazinga channel + afternoon gamedrive Kasim wanted to go back before it was getting dark to the place we saw leopards that morning to check if they were out. We really love that kind of efford. In addition he is a very knowledgable guide. We learned a lot from him about the different ethnic groups in Uganda and the nature. Another point we really appreciated was that Kasim always made clear that animal sightings are not guaranteed, in his words: ''If nature allows''. Something we will remember and tell our friends and family.
Even after our trip with Kasim ended, he woke up really early on his only day off to give us a ride to the busstation in Kampala. Something we will never forget.

The Pearl of Africa in 12 days with Wild Uganda. A unique experience that I recommend without a mome
We are delighted to have chosen Wild Uganda for our first safari!
First of all, communication with Ernest was seamless, professional, and impeccable.
Our guide was Shafik Topkins; he is a very warm person who knows and loves his country!
We learned so much about Uganda and the hidden gems found there.
Shafik is knowledgeable about the national parks and their history.
He also specializes in birdwatching and tracking, and can answer any questions about the animals you might encounter.
He is passionate about his work, and it was a real pleasure listening to his explanations and stories.
We were able to see the "Big Five" as well as many other animals.
The experiences with the chimpanzees, gorillas, and golden monkeys were extraordinary and magical!!!

Flexible, transparent, fair price, nature lovers and, of course.. they have the best cars!
Our trip with Wild Uganda had all that we wanted and was perfect. I'll talk about some important points that might be important for other travelers:
- Communications: The communication with them was easy and smooth, first via email and then via Whatsapp. They were always answering fast and happy to help to solve all our questions (we had a lot). We had to customize the "route" for us and there was no problem on that.
- Tour: After reading a lot of information on internet, the tour the they propose to you includes what, for us, is the most important to see in Uganda regarding wildlife and nature. We did a 9 days trip and it was enought to see all what we wanted to see.
- Lodges: The lodges where you will sleep if you choose the low-medium budget option are really good. We were abit worried of that and it was a surprise that in all of them the food was increidibly good, we had hot water for shower, potable water, big and confortable beds with mosquitos net. We even met an elefant in QE while we were having breakfast!
- Guide: Derrick! This is you :) In our case, we did the trip with Derrick. He speaks english perfectly and he was able to answer all our questions about the animals, trees, parks, Uganda culture, food, history, etc... (Sorry Derrick, I know we put you on trouble in some questions :) ).
Derrick was on time every day, with the car cleaned and cold water waiting for us every day.
- Value for Money: We wanted to try to do the trip private (we are a couple from Barcelona, Spain) but almost all the options where extremely expensive. This one had a fair price. Probablye there are more luxury options with luxury lodges but honestly, we wanted to visit Uganda for the wildlife, nature and culture, not to be in a pool all the day. That's why we think there was no better option than that. And we were not wrong! We couldn’t be happier with the option we chose.
And last but not least, the have the coolest cars of whole Uganda!

Incredible first safari experience
We had an amazing experience with Wild Uganda and would 100% recommend them!
This was our first safari, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The whole tour was very well organized and incredibly diverse, we got to discover so many different places, landscapes and animals throughout the trip.
A huge part of what made the experience so special was our guide, Derrick. He was absolutely fantastic from start to finish: extremely kind, attentive, knowledgeable and always happy to answer all of our questions about the wildlife, nature and Uganda in general.
What really stood out was how dedicated he was to making sure we had the best possible experience. During every game drive, he was constantly looking for wildlife and doing everything he could to help us spot animals, especially lions, leopards and other harder-to-find species. He had an incredible eye for spotting them, and we’re convinced that we were able to see so much wildlife largely thanks to him!
He was also always taking care of the little details. Every morning, we would come back to a perfectly clean and prepared car, with fresh bottles of water ready for us. The vehicles themselves were also very comfortable and perfect for the safari.
Overall, an unforgettable first safari experience. We came back with incredible memories and couldn’t recommend Wild Uganda, and especially Derrick, enough. Thank you for making this trip so special! 🦁🐘🦒❤️

Professional, trustworthy, friendly and flexible
Our tour operator was Wild Uganda. We booked the private 10 days tour, including the Gorilla and Chimpanzee tracking. The whole expirience from booking, to us leaving, far exceeded our expectations.
Ernest was always prompt with communication and there were no language barriers. We found the price to be very fair in comparison to other safari destinations.
We went for the mid-range lodges and we were totally satisfied with the space, comfort and amenities. We both had some very good "wows". I would go so far to say that we would have been OK with the budget level. Food was always plentiful, (I challenge you to finish any meal! 😆) with many options and tasty too.
Brian was our guide. He was friendly and very professional, he wasn't overbearing and at mealtimes he gauged perfectly when we might want our space. He was flexible with the schedule when needed and a great problem solver. He did his absolute best to give us the very best encounters, and succeeded. He was always on time too which we love! His knowledge of the parks and its animals was exceptional and we made a great team with the bird spotting and identification. His driving was safe and the trucks are the best we saw on the tour.
We found Wild Uganda were professional throughout and we highly recommend them to anyone wanting to see the Big Five and the amazing Primates of Uganda.
This once in a lifetime trip to see the wildlife, the vastly diverse Ugandan landscapes, and its wonderful people, may turn into more than once! Thank Brian and Wild Uganda

Wild Uganda Is A Great Operator
Wild Uganda did a spectacular job designing our 12 day safari in Uganda and Rwanda. Our contact Ernest was always there to answer our questions over WhatsApp and our guide/driver Kasim was thoughtful, very polite, helpful, very informative and a great driver (important because the roads are difficult in spots and town traffic is fast). Our lodges were all very comfortable with helpful staff, lovely décor and abundant food at meal times. We could also have flavored waters, tea/coffee in the afternoons, with cookies or fruit to hold us until dinner. You will find the people of Uganda and Rwanda are polite, reserved and dedicated to you as a guest. I highly, highly recommend Wild Uganda and I feel extremely lucky to have picked them to give us such a marvelous trip.

Absolutely perfect
I have to start by saying how lucky I was to come across the Wild Uganda agency. I had tried contacting other agencies first, but the prompt and incredibly pleasant communication with Ernest made the decision easy. I am so happy I chose them. Then came a wonderful surprise in the form of our guide and driver, Chris—a small man with a huge heart and a wealth of knowledge about nature. If there was something he didn't know, he would find it out. His patience with me and my two daughters meant the world to us. I was especially touched by his dedication: one evening, as we were heading back for dinner after a long day on safari, he learned that another group had spotted a lion; without hesitation, he turned the car around and drove back a long way just so we could see the lion for a few minutes. His driving skills are super, and his laughter, wit, and sense of humor are unforgettable. Those ten days together turned us into a family. Thank you, Ernest, for gave Chris to us. Great overall experience - fast reaction, great service and company
This was our very first fully guided travel experience and we are more than happy we choose to go with "Wild Uganda". Normally we do alot of self-drive traveling but since we took my wifes parents with us and it was their first time outside of Europe, we decided to go for it.
Age group for classification: 2 Pax around 30 years, 2 Pax around 50-60 years
+ Route and Options & unforeseeable changes
From the very first contact till our arrival back home: Ernest was quick and reliable. He took all our wishes into account and planned it into the route. The recommendations of accommodations were well selected for each price segment. Changes were no problem. In the originally planned 15 day-tour everything was packed into what we wanted. From the northernmost tip of the Kidepo NP to the south in Bwindi NP - everything was excellently timed.
Even as our transit flight from Brussels to Entebbe got canceled and we lost 1 day, Ernest was so quick in changes and trying to help out for finding an earlier flight.
+ Guide
Our guide was Rashid. We can't make any suggestions for improvement. He was a great accompaniment and a professional driver in the sometimes crazy traffic of Uganda. He has always given his very best to create the most intense and best possible experience for us. It was worth having a guide because he used his contacts to make our trip even more special. Even if my parents-in-law can hardly speak a word of English, he didn't ignore them and always included them and their wishes.
Also we like how he is documenting the stops for Social Media and provides interesting information.
If you are still thinking about which provider you want to take, we would like to recommend Wild Uganda to you with full conviction.
