Incredible 50th birthday celebration!! Fantastic safari trip to S.Africa/Namibia
I worked with Tanya Drummond. She was very communicative, with loads of helpful advice, having stayed at many of the safari resorts we discussed. I was traveling to Africa for the first time and Tanya's knowledge as a local was invaluable to me. I think I underestimated the enormity of the continent, but Tanya helped me arrange a trip that got me where I wanted to go in a non-taxing manner. The quality of the accommodations was superb and the level of detail Tanya provided to me leading up to the trip were top notch. We communicated for almost a year before my husband and I actually departed. Tanya checked in with me both by email and phone a few times once the trip was underway to make sure everything was going smoothly. I really appreciated that, being so far from home. Giltedge took care of all necessary transfers to and from airports, hotels, etc. Drivers were always on time. The trip was not inexpensive, but it was well worth it, as everything proceeded seamlessly. I hope we can make it back to Africa sometime. I would definitely trust Giltedge again with our travel plans.

Each step along the way, we were met by representatives of Gilt-edge to take care of us and assure that we had a stress free trip. The level of service is way beyond anything else we have experienced in our three trips to Africa. Very pleasant agents that we met at each step of our trip, Airports, shuttles, Cabs, Resorts, restaurants, hotels, lodges, etc left us feeling secure and free to really relax and enjoy our trip. Transportation from each location to the next, was met by an agent. We had a detailed itinerary which identified dates, times, and requirements. All of the places we visited on our trip, were places where Gilt-edge agents have personally experienced. It is obvious that Gilt-edge has gone to great lengths to have high quality Agents. We think of our agent as the best we have ever had.

The trip was UNBELIEVABLE we had the honeymoon of a lifetime and could not have done it without you!
Every aspect of our experience with Giltedge Africa was amazing. We were recommended by a friend of a friend who only had the best things to say about them. We reached out and were placed in touch with Nikki who was an absolute delight. Our initial phone conversation lasted almost an hour where we discussed exactly what we were looking for on our African honeymoon. My wife is a frequent traveler at work and we had a significant amount of reward points which we wanted to maximize on our trip. Nikki came up with multiple itineraries which allowed us to maximize our usage of reward points and minimize our out of pocket costs. She was in constant communication with us about our options, the corresponding prices, and her recommendations based on past experience. Being a savvy traveler, and an accountant by trade, I compared the prices she quoted us and compared them to travel websites. Her prices were always significantly lower based on their heavily discounted rates Giltedge receives. After weeks of communication we ultimately came up with a trip which met all of our needs.
Now for the trip, from the second we stepped off the plane in Johannesburg we were greeted by personal escorts which allowed us to bypass security lines and took us directly to our connecting flight to Cape Town. This continued for the rest of the trip which included private transfers, private guided trips, amazing hotels and an unparalleled safari experience. From the second we got off the plane to the second we boarded the plane home three weeks later we were taken care of by friendly and professional staff which was all planned through Giltedge. Nikki set up the perfect tour where we spent two nights in wine country, three nights in Cape Town, a week on safari in Kruger and a week in Mauritius. We would not have changed one thing about the trip, most of all we would not change choosing to use Giltedge to help us plan and execute the honeymoon of our dreams. Thank you!!

Wonderful trip organized by Giltedge.
The tour arranged by Giltedge was superb in every way. Working with Nikki to develop our itinerary was very efficient with very good communication. The trip itself was magnificent. The tour guides both in Cape Town and in the Camps in Botswana were very knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend a visit to Africa arranged by Giltedge.

Giltedge Africa helped us plan our trip to South Africa. All our accommodations in Cape Town and on Safaris were excellent. All of our excursions were wonderful. All the transfers to different locations went smoothly. They always responded to any queries in a very timely manner. The agent at Giltedge quickly understood the type of trip we required. She seemed to understand what people our age, stage and budget would be interested in and made excellent suggestions. Great Organization, Best Trip of our Lives!
We went into the organization blind. We knew only that we wanted a 6 nights safari, and we wanted to go to Victoria Falls and to the Okavango Delta. Philippa was incredible. She planned the perfect vacation for our family, making sure to check in with me every step of the way. She took care to change the plans according to what I told her, calling daily during the initial organization to make sure I was satisfied with the ongoing changes. After we had our final proposal, she answered all my questions regarding attire, flights, or other details.
We arrived in Johannesburg and stayed in a hotel near the airport, all booked by Philippa, then the "real" trip began.
We spent 2 nights in Victoria Falls, in the best lodge we could have hoped for, the Old Drift Lodge. During the planning, I had wanted to switch to Victoria Falls Safari Suites, and I am so thankful to Philippa for convincing me to keep the Lodge! We had animals roaming through our hotel, as we were inside the reserve. It was incredible. We also planned for White Water Rafting and for a Horse Riding Safari. Both activities were incredible!
Then we spent 2 nights in Chobe Game Lodge. The road transfer, including the crossing of the border, was perfectly organized. Staying inside the Chobe National Park is really worth it. We saw almost all the animals in our "to-watch" list there.
Then we took a small plane to the Okavango Delta for our last 2 nights. Again, the organization was flawless. The camp was lovely and the game drives exciting!
All the camps, transfers and arrangements were perfectly planned, we never had an issue during the trip.
I am glad I found Giltedge Travel and Philippa, as they gave us an incredible experience! All transfers, lodges, and communications couldn't have been better. Thank you for making this past Christmas unforgettable!
