A very special place and an unique experince

The two days I spent in the Okavango Delta were absolutely magical. When you camp out in the delta, you're transported via mokoros, a canoe type boat used by the locals to travel around the delta. Usually two people are ferried in each mokoro with one poler propelling the boat. It's a unique way of travelling, making you feel one with the delta itself. Usually they use pathways that have already formed in the reed growing in the delta but sometimes they need to push through the dense reed. Keep your eyes out while sailing in the mokoros as you can see a lot of the smaller wildlife, such as frogs and insects. You'll also probably come across some hippos.

When you camp out on the delta, there are few amenities. The only running water is the water of the delta itself and therefore you can't use soap out there. There are no toilet facilities so you have to use a bush toilet. When you need to go after nightfall, you need a buddy with you to be on the look-out for animals. It's definitely something you don't experience very often.

During the night, you'll hear the delta symphony where the frogs, the insects and the birds sing their songs with occasional rumblings from the elephants and the hippos. The best kind of music to fall asleep to.

I experienced very warm weather in the delta as it was the last days of the dry season, right before the rain would start. Therefore it was very nice to able to dip into the delta for a cooling bath. Bring your swimsuit!

My group went for bush walks with local people as guides. The walks were both shortly after daybreak and then right before nightfall. We got pretty close to elephants, zebras and lechwe antelopes. Our guides were also great at pointing out various birds, smaller wildlife and plants.

There was also a sunset cruise which was wonderful. The colors at sunset are every photographer's dream.

The Okavango Delta is a very special place and I felt I was very lucky to get experience it with the guidance of local guides who know the terrain very well and share with you their knowledge and wisdom.

About: Kenya
Incredible; amazing; surreal.

5/5

My sister and I decided on the 7-Day Masai Mara/Nakuru/Naivasha/Amboseli Safari/Tour and overall it was amazing. Masai Mara was so incredible...this park is a must see while in Kenya. I would spend 2 full days here as the amount of animals is so incredible. we went during the migration and that in itself is a site to see. Amboseli has it's own incredible features, such as the watering hole...what an experience to see all of the animals drinking and playing and bathing at the watering hole.

There were a couple of things that happened that we were not expecting but dealt with them. One thing that didn't sit well with us was part of our itinerary it clearly stated a boat ride in Lake Naivasha, and this didn't happen. I messaged Tom and he told me this was a computer error and if we wanted to do the boat ride the cost would be $30 USD. this was very disappointing as we now spent the afternoon at the hotel.

we should have done a bit more research in regards to how far the parks were from each other as we spent a lot of our time driving to each park.

the guides were good but Animal sticks out as the BEST! he is so passionate about his tours and it shows through his enthusiasm and stories he tells. he brought this trip, for me, to that level of amazing. he is a very special man and his love for his country shines through in his wonderfulness.

overall it really was a trip of a lifetime.

Botswana would never be described as a green country. There are great expanses of land that are simply a desert. But it's very beautiful in its bareness and so rich of wonderful wildlife. Keep your eyes out for animals as you drive along. There's a great chance you'll see an elephant or a giraffe just hanging out along the side of the road.

Also while you'll meet other tourists, most of the time you'll feel like there are no other tourist but you and the people travelling with you.

wonderful and memorable holiday in your beautiful country.

The safari tour was exceptional allowing us to see the true beauty of your country. The beach holiday was picture perfect and the setting idealistic. It would be amiss not to mention the people we met on our travels. Everyone was just so kind and considerate and allowed us to feel completely at ease and enjoy our surroundings.

Serengeti at its best
5/5

Every day was different in the Serengeti, from being part of the migration, to sipping cocktails over the magnificent sunsets. Watching nature at its best, being immersed in one of the wonders of the world, was largely due to the expert assistance of our guide, driver, and now, friend, Herman. His knowledge and passion of his country and it's geographic marvels, the animals, birds, culture and customs, is outstanding. All made very easy to us travelers, with his easygoing and patient manner.

They do what they promise, a very good driver and good places to visit!!
5/5

We had a very good, helpfull and friendly driver who always says: safety first!!
The places we visited were fine (Jinja, Kampala, Karenga, Gulu, Packwach), the 2 nature parks (Kidepo and Murchinson) were special, only we had to much rain. The guesthouses they organised were good with friendly and helpfull people who knows a lot about that region.

4 Days safari Remote Selous Game Reserve
5/5

We got 4 wonderful safari days, that Gecko organized in The Selous. They planned a trip according all our wishes. When I specified our wishes they always responded immediately. Safari started, when our guide picked us from the airport He was solely for us. The safari was very flexible and we were able to take pictures of animals and nature for as long as we always wanted. The guide was very knowledgeable. We had one walking safari, one all-day car safari, half day car safari and half day boat safari. This was a good combination and I can recommend it. So Safari did not become too heavy and we enjoyed all the activities. Trip length was very good, shouldn't be shorter.

If you want to get reliable and responsible tour operator, we recommend the Gecko Adventures

WOW! Great Company for an unforgettable Safari!
5/5

We had an unforgettable 5 day Safari (Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro) with Shemeji! The communication was from the beginning very easy and straight forward. Everything turned out as promised and booked. The value for money was Top! Accommodations, car and the guide were great. Our guide was very experienced and had a great knowledge about the parks and the animals. He knew where to go without only following other cars and groups. So we had many magical moments just for us without too many people around and a special vibe for the whole Safari. We also were very flexible in arranging the days (getting up very early) and in the animals we wanted to focus on.

We just can recommend Shemeji at all - no wrong promises, great value for money and very easy going!

About: Safarihub
Great Tanzanian safari with outstanding guide
5/5

Our family of three generations (85 yr old Grandma, daughter, and grandchildren) had a most wonderful 6-day Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorogoro Crater safari with our guide, Jonas and Safari Hub. Everything was well considered and all of our accommodations were comfortable. The Tortolis Tent Camp was fantastic, especially listening to lion calls at night. After one lodge made a mistake in our room location, Safari hub went out their way to correct it.
Jonas, our guide, was very attentive to learn everyone’s needs and desires, from young to elder and fulfilled them all. He is a highly experienced animal guide, knowing just when and where to view the animals and he shared his knowledge, enthusiasm and love for them. Every day brought us a new surprise-lion prides, hippos, cheetahs, leopards, migrating wildebeests, fighting dik-diks, mating lions! Jonas goal was to make us all happy and he more than succeeded!
