Highly recommend Makario Safaris
Thank you Makario Safaris for a wonderful trip to Rwanda. Makario was timely and efficient in all interactions to pick the right trip and communicate clearly on trip details. From arrival in Kigali, our visa and luggage were handled smoothly while we relaxed in lounge. Kigali is a lovely, very clean city. Levis, our guide from beginning to end of the trip, was terrific. He provided every need and we relaxed while he did the driving. The Rwanda Genocide museum was an impactful and meaningful visit. We were incredibly impressed with the country of Rwanda and how they’ve improved their country in modern times out of this terrible tragedy.
Of course the mountain gorillas were the bucket list item and exceeded all expectations. Our guide was able to request the right level (no guarantees based on gorillas movements) for our hike. Our interactions were everything we hoped for at very close proximity. Likewise, our golden monkeys hike was enjoyable with a great guide. We appreciated the porters we hired who helped with both our hikes. If wondering whether to hire a porter we recommend definitely hiring one to help the guide clear trail, help you, carry a backpack but most of all support the local economy and support the park. The rangers watch over the animals and make locating & following the animals easier for a rich interaction and also should be tipped.
We felt safe and were very impressed with the people & beauty of Rwanda.

Budget safari with high standards
Very serious company with competitive prices. Chanson Kimani before the Safari answered very promtly to every question. He even called me to understand every detail contributing to the final price.
The safari itself depends a lot on the guide, if you can I would suggest you to request for Leroy. If you have booked many days of safari you should be prepared to change slightly of schedules and even group, but that is normal since it is a group safari and the company tries to accomodate everyone’s needs.

Reliable, knowledgeable, professional and punctual
This was a bucket list trip for me so I was very concerned about it being ruined by bad organisation. It turned out better than I ever imagined. My son and I didn’t realise we would have private tours and safaris, we were treated to our own safari car. Our guides were always ready and waiting for us and adapted to any changes professionally. We saw the Big 5 and so much more. I will definitely be going with Amshar Serengeti again.

Amazing
Our trip to the Serengeti with Salvation Safaris was an absolutely wonderful experience. From start to finish, everything was well-organized and thoughtfully arranged. There was a small hiccup at the airport due to an airline issue, but it was quickly resolved by the organizer, and we arrived just in time for our safari to begin.
During the game drives, we were very well taken care of. The staff went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and that every moment was memorable. Their attention to detail and commitment to providing a seamless experience truly made this an unforgettable journey.
The stay at the camp was comfortable, and the food was delicious. At one point, we accidentally left our iPad at the camp, but the staff came running after our car to return it. We truly appreciated their honesty and effort.
Our safari driver was exceptionally friendly and dedicated. He went out of his way to take us to see the migration—even though it was quite far—because he knew how much we wanted to experience it. He was fully engaged and did everything he could to help us spot as many animals as possible during our short trip. This was truly above and beyond, and we are very grateful. A big thank you to our safari driver!

Amazing 6 Day Safari with the Best Guide!!
I went on a 6 day safari to Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli and it was amazing!!! We saw four out of the big five and a family of leopards on our final day - it was the last animal sighting we had. What a way to finish the trip!!!
Our guide, Wachamba, was the absolute best. We heard stories from other tours that sounded terrible, but Wachamba was kind, accommodating, knowledgeable, and all-around made the safari so much better. He really cared that we were able to see what we wanted and tried really hard to get us to see the big 5.
Masai Mara and Flair Camp were 10/10. The food and service and accomodation were amazing. The rhinos at Lake Nakuru were beautiful and the walk on Crescent Island, although separately charged, was amazing. We walked right up to the animals and had a great guide.
My only complaint is a buffet place on the way to Nakuru that I hope they stop using. The food was terrible and gave me food poisoning. We also ate the exact same meal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner 5 or 6 times and the quality was really hit or miss.
I also wish our group could have stayed together. I know they split and mix the groups up for logistics but our group was amazing and we were so sad when we had to split up.
Overall couldn’t recommend the tour company or the tour guide more!!

Absolutely unforgettable safari experience!
We recently returned from the most amazing safari adventure, all thanks to Splendid Vacations! From our very first consultation to the booking process and the actual safari itself, everything was seamless and so well organised.
A huge shoutout to our wonderful tour consultant, Alice, who was simply fantastic. She was always available to answer our endless questions, patiently helping us fine-tune every detail. She put together an itinerary that was exactly what we dreamed of — and more!
Our game drivers were equally incredible. In Kenya, we had Caleb, and in Tanzania, Erick. Both were absolute pros — friendly, knowledgeable, and knew exactly where to find the animals. Thanks to them, we saw the Big 5 and so many other animals up close in their natural habitat. The highlight was definitely the balloon safari over the Masai Mara and watching the lions ravish their morning kill up close.
The accommodations — a mix of hotels and bush camps — were perfect, each one adding to the authentic safari feel while still being comfortable and welcoming.
We can’t thank Splendid Vacations enough for making this dream trip a reality. If you’re considering a safari, we wholeheartedly recommend them — you’ll be in excellent hands from start to finish!
