Exceeded my expectations
The safari exceeded my expectations on so many levels. Our guide went above and beyond to show us the wildlife and get us the best views, all while being respectful of the animals. The food was delicious and the tents were comfortable. Great communication with the staff before and after the safari too. I would definitely recommend.

We arrived in Arusha for a conference and, just two days before it ended, we made a spontaneous decision to climb Mount Kilimanjaro via the Marangu Route in just five days.
At a restaurant, we met some travelers who had just finished a safari and Mount Meru with Hekima Safaris. They couldn’t stop talking about their experience and highly recommended the company, so they shared Mopoo’s WhatsApp contact with us.
We messaged him immediately, and despite being out of the country, he responded quickly. He explained all the climbing options in a clear table and arranged for us to meet the Hekima team that very same day. We met Jumanne and the rest of the crew, and everything was organized incredibly fast considering how last minute our request was.
Our five day Kilimanjaro climb was exceptionally well organized from start to finish. Before the trek, we ran into an unexpected problem with our bank, and we couldn’t make the payment on time. This is where Hekima earned our trust.
Instead of canceling our trip, their finance team calmly told us to go ahead with the climb and settle the payment after we returned. The only thing they asked was that we make sure we had enough money to tip the mountain crew, explaining that the tips go directly to the porters, guides, and cooks who work incredibly hard. After spending five days with that amazing team, we completely understood why they absolutely deserved every bit of appreciation.
After the climb, we completed our payment without any issues, and Hekima helped us with all the remaining formalities.
Before leaving Tanzania, we wanted to visit an organization helping people in need. We called Mopoo for recommendations, and he suggested several different organizations. Later, we noticed on Hekima’s website that they also support children’s education across Tanzania, so we asked him why he hadn’t recommended his own project.
His answer impressed us even more.
He said that a portion of Hekima’s profits already goes toward supporting those children, so he thought it would be better for us to help another organization instead. That level of honesty meant a lot to us. It wasn’t about promoting himself,it was about making sure our support created more impact.
Because of that, we chose to support Hekima’s project as well, and we plan to continue doing so.We had great time as well with cultural program after visiting Hekima projects!Asante Sana

I booked this Meru Slopes safari on the advice of a retired friend who is basically a professional traveler now. She undertook the trip last year and said that it was the best she has had. I took my 13 year old son as a father son experience. Our guide was Rashid and I can honestly state that I felt that he went above and beyond to make this as good and memorable experience for us as possible. I think he has a sixth sense of what the animals were thinking. He has 15 years' experience and it showed. Every day was special. My son loved it as well. The accommodation was terrific. We saw 2 crossings within an hour of each other one morning and saw each of the big 5. I originally booked with Qatar Airlines but that flight was cancelled without explanation so I rebooked with KLM to avoid the mid-east conflict. I can enthusiastically endorse Meru Slopes for your next safari.

Wonderful safari with the best guide
We had a six day safari trip with our incredible guide Gasper! He was absolutely amazing, if not only for the fact that he had an incredible talent to find the most interesting views, animals and paths. He taught us not only about the animals we saw but also about Tanzanian culture in general. We could never ask too many questions and he was always there with the answers and an interesting fact to add.
We couldn’t have asked for a better guide for this incredible trip!

A great tour in beautiful well-kept nature
We had a 6-day tour of Serengeti, Tarangiri, and Ngorongoro with the incredible Gasper as our guide- and he lead us on an incredible trip.
A hugely knowledgeable guide; professional and fun! He lead us to all the best locations to view the animals, pointed out things we never would have noticed on our own, and taught us so much about both the parks and the local culture!
Gasper made sure to know what animals were most interested in, what we were hoping to see more of as each day passed, and always delivered despite the unpredictability of nature!
He was also very gracious in answering questions about the local culture and customs, and made us feel very welcome to ask anything we were curious about.
In all, a wonderful tour lead by the most wonderful guide, and an incredible first time on safari for me and my family! Highly recommended.

An unforgettable experience from start to finish
Our safari through the Masai Mara and Amboseli was executed flawlessly. All the transfers between destinations, camps, and park gates were seamless, punctual, and remarkably well organized, making the entire journey smooth and stress-free. Every planned activity was well-paced and exceeded our expectations.
We were incredibly lucky on our game drives, getting front-row views of the big cats in action—including lions, a stunning leopard, and cheetahs. A huge credit goes to our two guides, who were not only exceptionally knowledgeable and sharp-eyed spotters, but also genuinely kind, warm, and attentive to every detail throughout the trip.
