Good safari experience with friendly guide.
5/5

Overall tour experience was good and eye opening. Kush guided us well, giving the best safari experience with explanation of the wildlife as and when we spotted them. Everything was arranged nicely and well communicated, highly recommend.

seven days before the trip.
5/5

I chose to go on a 14-day safari at the last minute, seven days before the trip. Tall Masai promptly fulfilled my request and made a flexible adjustment to their offering to meet my requirements. The driver/guide performed a fantastic job and assisted us when needed. Having been a Maasai himself, he was quite knowledgable. I would suggest them at any moment.
After doing this tour twice, I always suggest taking a private tour.

An Unforgettable Safari Experience with Jackson – Highly Recommended!
5/5

Our safari in Tanzania with Jackson as our guide was nothing short of extraordinary. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized, and Jackson went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible experience.

Jackson is an incredible guide who took the time to listen to all our wishes and made sure every detail was exactly how we wanted it. Unlike other safaris where only water is offered, he even had Coke Zero ready for us—a small touch that made the experience feel personalized and special.

We visited the Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti, and Tarangire National Park, and the experience exceeded all our expectations. We saw an incredible number of lions, the Big Five, and even had extended tours beyond what was originally planned. Jackson truly gave his all to make sure we had the most memorable experience possible.

Our accommodations were perfect thanks to Jackson’s flexibility—he found exactly what we wanted, and they all matched wonderfully with the trip. The meals he provided were fresh, delicious, and absolutely exceptional every time.

Jackson’s personality made the trip even more enjoyable. Long drives were never uncomfortable—there was never awkward silence, but also no pressure to chat. He was considerate, interesting, and a fantastic conversationalist.

Thanks to Jackson, we created amazing memories in Tanzania that will stay with us forever. He genuinely went the extra mile to make this safari remarkable. We cannot recommend him highly enough—if you want the ultimate Tanzanian safari experience, Jackson is the guide to choose.

Thank you so much, Jackson!

The operator provided excellent organization, though food and accommodation needs improvment
4/5

Transport: Perfect. Our guide Nestor managed the flights Zanzibar → Selous → Dar es Salaam very smoothly, always punctual and reliable.

Safari: Very good. Comfortable 4x4 just for the two of us. Nestor was attentive, and we managed to see the “Big 3” (elephants, lions, buffalos), though no rhinos in Selous.

Accommodation: Lodges were adequate (mosquito nets, hot water), but overall quite basic with limited comfort and no extra amenities or blankets. We chose to spend the third night in a Dar es Salaam hotel instead.

Food: Could definitely be improved, lacked variety and quality.

Staff: Khadidja and Clara, along with the rest of the lodge team, were very kind and attentive. However, the lack of English skills made communication sometimes difficult.

Overall: Excellent organization and safari thanks to Nestor, but accommodation and especially food would need improvement.

Very well organized
5/5

We did a 4 days safari between Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli parks. Since the planning phase, Naomi was very effective. All the tour was well organized and we had no issues at all. Our guide Enock was amazing and allowed us to see a lot of animals in a very short period. We definetly recommend this tour operator.

professional operator
5/5

My wife and I chose a "great migration" safari with Great Escape Trails in August 2025, it was a very full itinerary and very well organised with great attention to detail. They were very easy to deal with, allowing us to add an extra night and always replying promptly as our arrival times changed due to airline rescheduling and to confirm any small detail. Our guide, Hans seemed to always have us in the right place at the right time for game sightings, all the big 5 and much, much more, we saw a river crossing of a small group of animals and a number of first sightings for us including cheetahs, snakes and a black rhino. Hans was always ready to explain things to us and help identify what we were seeing - a very likeable man to spend such a long time on the road with.

Green Hippo 's unforgettable life time experience
5/5

Coincidentally we came into contact with Astrid from Green Hippo, when we planned our 22 days travel to Tanzania, and this contact worked out in a unforgettable journey for our family in August. Based on our wish to not only visit the great national parks, but also to meet people, Astrid made a varied travel from Arusha, Tarangire, Lake Natron, Ngorogoro, Serengeti, Mkomazi and Pangani Beach. All the lodges were excellent, beautifully situated and small scale. The social projects at Watoto, Africa Amini Maasai lodge and Chanya School were outstanding and the cycling tour and visit to a rice and banana plantation in Mto Wa Mbu and coffee excursion and waterfall hike in Materuni very informative. The park visits were all above expectation, because our tenacious guide was not afraid to leave the beaten track to avoid traffic jams and ‘mass’ audiences to find exceptional animal encounters including the Big Five and a great variety of (predator) birds. Although Astrid supplied us with a Travel Key app with all details from our trip from the moment we landed till the last day, we were able to make last minute changes during the trip. This resulted a.o. in an unplanned Moshi Tuc Tuc town trip and a half day visit at a Masai family at their Boma. Valence was not only our driver for our whole trip, but also an outstanding, very informative guide and above all a super friendly and humoristic trip manager who made sure that we didn’t have to worry about anything. Valence was more or less part of our family.
All in all we can recommend Green Hippo to anyone who wants a tailormade Tanzania trip, off the beaten track and based on your own desires. As Green Hippo is a local company, all the revenues stay in Tanzania. Astrid and Valence, thank you for supporting us in this unforgettable life time experience.
