Serengeti Smiles is a must for anyone visiting Tanzania. Perfection beyond words, beyond expectation
My partner and I travelled to Tanzania for the first time. A fantastic tour operator, with our guide John making the experience incredible. His knowledge, wisdom and experience made this tour the best we’ve ever done.
He made sure we were looked after, showed us all the best spots to see each animal and guided us every step of the way. We saw the big five and so many more! We could stop whenever we wanted and John was more than happy to provide any information.
All breakfast, lunch and dinner was sorted and we had some great meals and incredible camp stays. The classic view camp we had hyena sounds at night and Lion roars in the morning - incredible and memorable. We were always made to feel safe and the whole experience is handled for you.
We’d highly recommend Serengeti Smiles and especially John as the guide!

Efficient, Friendly, customer Focus and value for money
I decided to travel with this company in September 2025, after having contacted a few and this one impressed me from the onset in their promptness and quality of information provided. I consider that I was very fortunate that my contact was Michuki, because, there was no query or concern raised that he was not able to either answer or point me in the right direction to have the matter resolved, for example, when I was unsure whether I needed a Visa for my visit.
From the beginning, he provided an itinerary that fitted my specific needs and was always ready, even outside of office hours to respond to any question(s) that I had.
I had planned a budget tour, and I must say that the first tented camp that I stayed at in the Maasai Mara (Miti Mingi eco camp) was a little disappointing. The tent was ok but the bathroom facilities were beyond basic...the toilet and shower was basically outside although attached to the tent, and as the Maasai Mara area was cold - taking showers early in the morning or late at night was not pleasant. However the upside is that the staff there were lovely, especially a young Maasai lad by the name of Moses. He was absolutely wonderful and although all the staff were nice, he stood out for me, he was attentive, informative, friendly and always had such a wonderful smile on his face...Lovely young man.
I stayed in the Maasai Mara area for two nights and then went on to other locations to include Nakuru and Navisha and Amboseli. The accommodation at these sites were significantly better, especially Amboseli, where I had the opportunity to stay at Rafiki Tent site. This is still in the process of being built, and it was a joy to see and experience the difference between this site and Miti Mingi eco camp. Rafiki is still a work in progress, but it is going to be lovely when it is completed and established. I also got the experience of waking up and seeing Mount Kilimanjaro with its snow cap top in the morning. Here Elizabeth is the person that stood out for me, again, excellent customer service skills, and couldn't do enough to please.
My trip was solo and only for 8 days - but I saw so much and met such wonderful like minded travellers (many of whom, I will connect with in the future) that I would recommend this Company to anyone. I even managed to put my foot on the soil of Tanzania as we had a couple of people who were crossing the border from Kenya to Tanzania to continue their travels. The Drivers/Tour Guide were friendly, John and Gordano would be the two that I would especially mention, because they worked hard and had to engaged positively with so many different personalities and nationalities.
And to add icing on the cake, Michuki kindly organised for myself and a couple of other travellers (who had booked with other companies) to be taken to either the next place that they were staying before their onward journey home or directly to the airport if they were flying out that night free of any additional cost. Super Eagles, you should feel honoured to have him as part of your team.

Outstanding; much above and beyond expectations
We traveled with George Matias. For 9 days we were privileged enjoy his knowledge, courtesious interaction with us. We are from Boston, USA. I am a Physician interested in photography, I wrote the following to Omer, our agent in Israel from another World Travel, who connected with you to arrange all the logistic of our Safari in Tanzania:b
In English
George truly deserves the highest praise. He is absolutely exceptional — not only with his deep knowledge and guiding skills, but also with his kindness, patience, and tireless support. He went far beyond his duty in every possible way: helping us, caring for us, and even assisting with photography. He gave us an unforgettable experience and did things for us that no one else would have done. We feel incredibly lucky to have had him as our guide.
in sweHilli:

NICE guide
I thought it was a reliable guided tour from the moment we were communicating on WhatsApp. He replied quickly, was friendly, and listened to me flexibly. The tour guide also responds to our poor English
He showed me a lot of animals. There is no doubt that it is a great guide and a great driving technique
Seamless, caring, and unforgettable safari experience with Serengeti Smile
We booked a 6-day safari with Serengeti Smiles covering Tarangire, Serengeti (Central and North), and Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and it was the experience of a lifetime.
Patricia, our tour consultant, was fantastic engaged, responsive, and supportive from start to finish.
On the ground, our safari guide John was beyond exceptional. His knowledge, passion, and sharp eye meant we saw the Big Five (lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, and leopard), cheetahs, and so much more. Every day brought unforgettable moments. He also took the time to answer my endless questions, explaining the different animals, birds, and behaviors in detail, which made the experience even more special.
Everything was looked after for us meals, transport (during and to airport), and our incredible accommodations. We felt genuinely cared for throughout, with the team going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy. We also had specific dietary needs, and they accommodated them perfectly without ever making it feel like an inconvenience.
The entire trip ran seamlessly, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. We highly recommend Serengeti Smiles to anyone looking for an organized, authentic, and truly memorable safari.

The best memories
Even though we're not great at English, they were very kind to us, making it a truly enjoyable safari tour. Lunch offered a different menu every day, and everything was delicious—we never had any trouble with meals. Drinks like water, cola, juice, and wine were replenished daily, keeping us comfortable inside the vehicle. We even spotted the Big Five—truly an amazing guide.

Amazing.
My safari in the Masai Mara was one of the most memorable trips I’ve ever taken, and a huge part of that was thanks to our amazing guide, Peter Kapino. From the moment we started the journey, he was welcoming, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. He had such a great way of explaining the wildlife, the park’s ecosystem, and even bits of Maasai culture, which made the whole experience much richer.
What really stood out was his sharp eye and patience. He could spot animals from astonishing distances and always made sure we had the best possible view. Whether it was watching lions up close, tracking elephants, or finding rare animals, he gave us plenty of time to take it all in and capture photos. He was also a very skilled driver, handling the bumpy and muddy Mara roads with complete confidence, so we always felt safe and comfortable.
On top of his guiding skills, he was kind, friendly, and easy to talk to, which made the long drives so enjoyable. By the end, it felt like we were traveling with a friend rather than just a guide. I can honestly say that he turned a great safari into an extraordinary one, and I would highly recommend him to anyone visiting the Masai Mara.

Hardworking team that put all their effort in ensuring that our safari experience would be amazing.
We did a 7-day camping safari through Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater. Everything was well-organized, and our team made the trip unforgettable.
Our guide Tom (Tumsitu) worked hard to make sure we kept “enjoying,” and thanks to him we saw an incredible variety of animals — even a lion hunt! He shared interesting insights about wildlife and Tanzanian culture.
Our chef Sulle cooked us delicious meals every day and served then with a big smile. We especially appreciated breakfast pancakes, freshly baked bread, and the variety of foods including many local dishes.
Camping in the middle of the wilderness was exiting. I'll never forget hearing lions roaring in the Serengeti at night. Highly recommend this safari, especially with Tom and Sulle!
