Wonderful Adventure in Uganda
I recently went on a 3-day Queen Elizabeth Safari in Western Uganda with Valverde Safaris.
I can only describe it as an incredible experience. My guide, a gentleman by the name of Martin, was an excellent individual who went above and beyond to ensure my experience was memorable in every aspect of the tour. The safari was customised to fit both my budget and the activities I wanted to undertake. There were no additional surprised cost-wise.
Uganda is a developing nation and that brings with some challenges. But this tour operator was well-organised and knew his product.
Martin has a sound knowledge of the National Park and the diverse wildlife that resides in it. We successfully got close to the lions, the elephants and other games that makes this part of Africa magical. Indeed, I can see why Winston Churchill referred to this place as the Pearl of Africa.
Martin is also an excellent safe driver; a skill that must be appreciated for Ugandan roads. There was always chilled water available in the car at all times and the fresh fruits that grow abundantly in Uganda. Giant pineapple are-a-must but not too sure about the jack-fruit.
A descent camera is essential to take good pictures of the wildlife. Martin has a DSLR camera that allow him to capture stunning wildlife photos which I could never achieve for the love of my mobile phone’s camera.

You need a GOAT to see the best of Africa.
Me and my wife recently had the most incredible East African adventure with Imara Africa Safaris, traveling across Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda— and I can honestly say it was the trip of a lifetime!
First thing first, from the moment we contacted them, Lewis and Wendy, were incredibly responsive (very important if you are trying to plan your trip from another continent in a different time zone), warm, and professional. They designed a customized itinerary that perfectly captured the best of East Africa. In Uganda and Tanzania our tour was through their partnered tour operators, and it was seamless. Every transition across borders was smooth and well-coordinated, which really speaks to their deep experience and strong network across the region. The package they provided was very reasonable for everything and most importantly, they provided the detailed breakdown of every expense in the package. We started very early in the morning on Day 1, so Lewis included Hell’s gate national park for us complimentary in our itinerary.
The Imara team took care of every little detail — comfortable accommodations, excellent meals, reliable transport, and knowledgeable guides who made every game drive come alive. Martin (Car No: KDP604P) our guide in Kenya was great, who’s goal was not just to quickly spot the Big 5’s but create a great experience as a whole. We spotted the four of the Big 5’s within first hour of starting in Masai Mara and the 5th one (Leopard) a few hours down the line. Solid communication and excellent knowledge of routes in the jungle.
What really stood out to me was how personalized and genuine the service felt. Lewis and Wendy checked in regularly during the trip to make sure everything was going smoothly, and the entire team went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and happy at every stage. From welcome to send off, everything was just great.

Fantastic Safari Experience in Tanzania with Active Wonders Safaris
We booked our East Africa trip through Imara Africa Safaris, and the Tanzania portion was organized by their partner, Active Wonders Safaris. It was an unforgettable experience filled with adventure, incredible wildlife, and genuine hospitality.
Our guide, Amiri (goes by the name Cheena), was absolutely exceptional — knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about wildlife and conservation. He had an amazing eye for spotting animals and made every game drive exciting and educational. His sense of humor made the long drives and full days in the parks truly enjoyable.
At one point, our vehicle broke down due to rough road conditions (just one of many in the Serengeti) — a reminder of how unpredictable the African terrain can be. Cheena handled the situation so well and made sure our trip doesn’t get compromised beyond a minor inconvenience. Another reminder of why having a great tour guide is a very critical component. Just a note, it is very common for vehicle breakdown to happen due to the road conditions in Serengeti and definitely you can’t blame the tour operator.
We were impressed by the team’s organization, communication, and genuine care throughout the journey. From tented camp in the middle of the Serengeti to breathtaking wildlife sightings (a few lion prides and live Cheetah hunt to name a few) in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, every moment was well planned and memorable. Their professionalism, flexibility, and personal touch made this an experience we’ll never forget.

We went on the six-day Kenya and Tanzania safari tour and we are so happy with our choice. As it was our honeymoon, they did their best to make our trip memorable.
Paul organised everything and was always available to help via WhatsApp. They picked us up from our hotel in Nairobi and dropped us off at Arusha Airport.
All the drivers were incredible and very friendly.
In Kenya, we had Keffa and Barb as our guides, who were the best ever!
In Tanzania, it was Elly who knew all the roads and parks so well.

An Unforgettable East Africa Safari Experience with Imara Africa Safaris! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
My husband and I had the absolute privilege of going on a 12-day East Africa safari with Imara Africa Safaris in September 2025, and it was beyond anything we could have dreamed of. From start to finish, everything was flawlessly organized, and every day brought new wonders. We covered 3 incredible countries — Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda — each offering its own unique charm and wildlife experiences.
In Kenya, we explored Hell’s Gate, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, Maasai Mara, and Amboseli National Park. Our guide, Martin, was amazing — knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about wildlife. He made every game drive exciting, helping us spot the Big Five and many more! Watching elephants in Amboseli with Mount Kilimanjaro in the background and seeing lions and cheetahs in Maasai Mara were moments we’ll never forget. In Tanzania, the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater took our breath away. The landscapes were stunning, and the abundance of wildlife was beyond our expectations. We did the Gorilla Trek in Uganda and coming face-to-face with a family of mountain gorillas in their natural habitat was one of the most moving and unforgettable experiences of our lives. For Tanzania and Uganda/Rwanda, Imara Africa Safaris worked with their trusted partners, Active Wonders Safari and Peak Cruise Safaris, and the coordination between the teams was outstanding. Every transfer, lodge, and park visit ran smoothly, and the guides in each country were equally professional and passionate.
A huge thank-you to the entire Imara Africa Safaris team for their exceptional organization, warm hospitality, and attention to detail. The lodges and camps were wonderful, the transfers were seamless, and we always felt safe and well cared for. A special mention goes to Lewis, whose communication was exceptional from the very beginning. He was always responsive, transparent, and patient, answering every question promptly and thoroughly. The payment process was smooth and well-coordinated — we felt completely safe and confident handling everything across continents. At the end of our trip, Wendy personally came to greet us at our hotel (where we had a short stay before our flight) and kindly ensured we had lunch arranged and our airport transfer taken care of. Her thoughtful gesture made us feel genuinely welcomed, cared for, and at home — a perfect ending to a wonderful journey.
