Even a group of a dozen young lions hiding in the grass couldn’t escape his notice, allowing us to enjoy such scenes almost exclusively.
Our guide was also exceptional at providing emotional support. He created his own motivational slogans, offering encouragement at the end of each day as we experienced "safari withdrawal," keeping us energized and happy throughout. He fulfilled every request we made.
Another crucial point is his punctuality. Throughout our eight or nine days together, he was never late—always arriving on time. To enhance our experience, he often agreed to start early upon our request, conducting morning safari drives. A Truly Unforgettable Safari Experience with Spirit of Kenya
One of my mom's lifelong dreams has been to go on an African safari, and Spirit of Kenya made that dream come true. Our planner, Filipa, crafted a wonderful 5 day itinerary that allowed us to explore Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and Amboseli.
Our driver and guide, Raphael, was phenomenal. My mom really wanted to see the Big Five, and thanks to his sharp eye and experience, we were able to spot lions, rhinos, buffalos, and elephants, along with so many other amazing animals like warthogs, antelopes, gazelles, crocodiles, hippos, and countless beautiful birds. We also witnessed unforgettable moments, from a lion carrying the carcass of an antelope between Land Cruisers to an elephant charging at a female lion and her cubs to defend its own.
We appreciated how Raphael not only taught us about the animals but also shared fascinating insights about Kenya's history, culture, and his own experiences as a Maasai.
On our final day, we encountered a protest on the road back to Nairobi, and Raphael handled the situation calmly and resourcefully to ensure we reached the airport on time for our flight.
