An Unforgettable Safari – Thanks to the Incredible Guide John
5/5

Our safari with Jocky Tours and Safaris was one of — if not the — most memorable experiences of my life. And the biggest reason for that was our absolutely amazing guide, John.

From the very first moment, you could tell that John truly loves what he does. His passion, dedication, and energy were unmatched. With him, we genuinely felt that he wanted to make the absolute most out of every single opportunity. He wasn’t just doing his job — he was fully committed to giving us the best possible experience every single day.

Thanks to John’s incredible knowledge, sharp instincts, and determination, we witnessed things we will never forget. We saw a live lion hunt for pumbas, watched a leopard drag its freshly hunted gazelle up a tree and eat it, and encountered so many incredible animals — hippos, cheetahs, giraffes, rhinos, and many more. These weren’t just sightings; they were once-in-a-lifetime moments.

John’s experience and deep understanding of wildlife made all the difference. He always positioned us perfectly, explained everything in detail, and made sure we didn’t miss a thing. You could truly feel how passionate he is about nature and wildlife — and that passion made the whole safari even more special.

On top of that, the value for money was unbelievable. Rarely have I experienced a situation where I felt like I not only got what I paid for — but significantly more. This was honestly 200% bang for your buck.

I would recommend Jocky Tours and Safaris to absolutely everyone. And if you can, ask for John — he will turn your safari into an unforgettable life experience.

Very well prepared and they’re doing a great job.
5/5

Our safari tour was truly the most incredible experience I have ever had in my life. From the very first moment, everything was perfectly organized, and it exceeded all my expectations.

A huge thank you to our tour guide, John. He gave his absolute best every single day to make sure we had the time of our lives. Thanks to his dedication, knowledge, and passion, we were able to see so many amazing animals. He always knew exactly where to go and made sure we didn’t miss anything. It honestly felt like a dream come true.

What made the experience even more special was how much John shared with us about the local culture. He explained everything in such an interesting and engaging way. Whenever we had questions, he always gave us clear, detailed, and thoughtful answers. You could truly feel how much he loves what he does.

This safari was not just a trip — it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will never forget. If you are thinking about booking a safari, I highly recommend it — and if possible, ask for John. He will make sure it becomes the best experience of your life too!

Kenya: A Truly Unique Adventure in the Wild
5/5

Our journey with Extra Miles Unique Adventures was absolutely exceptional. The entire itinerary was thoughtfully designed and impeccably organized, making our trip seamless from start to finish. Special thanks to Winnie from Extra Miles for her prompt and helpful responses throughout the planning process—it made us feel well-supported even before we arrived.

Our driver, Simon, deserves the highest praise. Though quiet by nature, he was incredibly attentive, sharp-eyed, and deeply experienced. Thanks to his expertise, we managed to arrive just in time to witness several breathtaking moments, including lions and cheetahs on the hunt. His skill and intuition truly enriched our experience, allowing us to capture memories we’ll cherish forever. Especially, his Chinese is very good. He can tell us the Chinese names of the animals, which is very helpful to us.

Thank you, Extra Miles, and especially Simon, for a priceless and unforgettable adventure in Kenya.

This tour was absolutely stunning! 1000/10 please take your time and read the review!
5/5

Our safari experience was absolutely unforgettable! Truly beyond anything we could have hoped for. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized, and we saw everything we came to see and more. Every game drive felt like a new adventure, and each day brought incredible moments we will remember forever.

What made this experience especially outstanding, however, was our guide, John Mwangi. We honestly cannot praise him enough. John went above and beyond in every possible way to make this safari special for us. His knowledge of the wildlife, nature, and the area was incredible, and his passion for what he does shines through in every moment. He always seemed to know exactly where to go and somehow managed to find amazing sightings time after time.

More than that, John genuinely cared about our experience. He was attentive, patient, and always doing everything in his power to make sure we were comfortable, excited, and having the best possible time. His enthusiasm was contagious!

We often joked during the trip: “John for president!” — and honestly, we meant it. His professionalism, kindness, and dedication set the standard for what a tour guide should be.

If you are lucky enough to have John Mwangi as your guide, you are guaranteed an extraordinary safari. We are incredibly grateful for this experience and would recommend this tour without hesitation to anyone looking for something truly special.

Dream Safari
5/5

Our trip 2-week trip with Wagtail Safaris was nothing short of extraordinary — truly the realization of a dream I had carried for over 20 years: seeing the mountain gorillas in the wild. From the very beginning, the company put together a comprehensive itinerary that exceeded our expectations in every way — incredible places to visit, diverse activities, beautiful and very enjoyable hotels, and, most importantly, unforgettable wildlife encounters across Uganda.

The logistics were absolutely flawless. Every transfer, park entry, and activity ran smoothly and without a hitch, allowing us to fully relax and immerse ourselves in the experience.

Our guide, Martin Asiimwe, was exceptional. He is extremely knowledgeable and experienced, with a warm, fun personality and seemingly endless patience. He could answer every question we had — from detailed animal behavior to social and political topics about the country — which added tremendous depth to the journey. His driving skills were superb, even on sometimes challenging roads, and his safari jeep was incredibly comfortable. What amazed us most was how spotless it was every morning after we had left it covered in dirt from the previous day’s adventures.

Martin was genuinely committed to making sure each traveler had the best possible experience. Early in the trip, he asked each person for the three animals we most wanted to see — and he kept that in mind throughout the safari, doing everything possible to ensure we each had those special sightings. That level of personal attention made the experience feel truly customized.

All in all, this was the most amazing safari one could dream of — perfectly organized, deeply enriching, and offered at a very reasonable price. I cannot recommend this company and Martin highly enough.

The perfect safari, the perfect weather, the perfect driver, everything was just perfect
5/5

We started conversations to explore the possibilities for our safari trip. We talked about the parks and available lodges, and which ones we could fit best in our 7 day safari. After that I got a definitive quote, and made a 50% deposit and later the rest. The process was very transparant. We kept having conversations with WhatsApp, so I was really confident that the trip would be a success. And wowwwww, they did not disappoint. They also arranged the transfer from the airport to the first hotel. The day after we were picked up by Joseph. Joseph was just what we asked for, just what we needed and than some more! Joseph is a very proud Kenyan, with love for his country and safari! He drove us safely from hotel to every lodge. We felt very safe in the jeep, we felt like home! If you ever want to consider doing a safari, I can assure you that WeTours will not disappoint and fulfill a perfect experience in Kenya 🇰🇪. We fell in love with Kenya, and this beautiful nature, and WeTours helped with that for 100%! Thank you WeTours, and thank you Joseph!

Good communication, understanding and knowledgable
5/5

First time I coming to Kenya and I heard great things about the Masai Mara. I connected with Ezekiel through WhatsApp and his communication was very good. We agreed a $900 USD to the Masai Mara which included a ballon ride - 3 days, 2 nights. It was a lot of money to spend so I was hopeful it would be worth the money. I did a group tour and I shared a jeep with 6 other tourists. It was a long 6 hr ride to the Masai Mara and had a few stops along the way for bathroom, food and shopping. The last 2 hours are extremely bumpy so be prepared. Our accommodation situation was tented and I shared with another guy from Korea. It was very basic accommodation but the food was fine and I slept well, just don’t expect 5 star rooms. The Masai Mara itself was fantastic and we saw every animal apart from the Rhino. The hot air balloon trip was just over an hour with a beautiful breakfast laid out after. Without doubt the staff make the trip special as the Kenyan people are very kind hearted and nice. Food was good quality. The final day we visited a Masai Village which was a beautiful experience fe to learn more about the Masai people and their way of life. They were kind and appreciative. My only advice to people to to bring a few warm layers as mornings can be chilly and don’t pack too heavy either as you’re pretty much wearing the same clothes the hole time. Bring shampoo too, sunscreen and if you are a photographer bring a lens that can zoom in a lot.

Safari experts with local knowledge and attention to detail
5/5

I came across Long Way Expeditions from responsibletravel.com when looking for a travel provider that was local and eco-conscious. We promptly heard from Ann, one of the owners, and after providing our requested length of a private safari trip and the sights we hoped to see, she quickly generated a thorough itinerary. Unfortunately, our trip fell during some political unrest so we had to quickly change dates and Ann handled that like a pro.

Upon arriving to Tanzania, we were greeted at the airport by Amil, our tour guide for the duration of the safari. We really enjoyed Amil's enthusiasm, guidance, and knowledge sharing throughout the trip. We also met Ann on the first day to brief us on the itinerary and again at the end where we had lunch with her and her co-owner/husband Abu to debrief the trip. I thought this was a lovely way to end the trip and also ensure they take in feedback.

The actual safari was a once in a lifetime experience. Definitely be prepared for long days in the truck and we also highly recommend to bring a camera beyond your phone camera to capture amazing pictures. We saw the Big 5 and a multitude of other animals across three different parks. We also enjoyed seeing the local villages during our drive. We did decide to stop at a Masai village but would probably skip that as these roadside ones are known for high entrance fees and forced souvenir sales which we experienced. We'd also warn the large souvenir markets near the parks are extremely overpriced and it is worth waiting until you get to Arusha.

The standard of the accommodations we stayed in were great. From glamping in the Serengeti to lodges in Arusha, each place was beautiful, had great service, and delicious food. Overall we loved Tanzania and would travel with Long Way Expeditions again!

Amazing trip and Makasa made it happen!
5/5

From the beginning Makasa provided an unforgettable experience. Our week long trip was well organized. We loved our guide, Kelvin! He was full of information, was an awesome animal spotter, and made everyday wonderful. We loved being present for the wildebeest migration and saw all the animals we had hoped to. Truly the vacation of a lifetime! The accommodations they suggested were perfect. Thank you Selma and Zara!
