Beyond Our Expectations
We came on a two week tour of Kenya and Tanzania. We booked through and amazing Canadian company names Big Cat Expeditions. Their owners are wildlife artists, photographers and collectors. They use Lasi as the ground team in Tanzania. We had the fantastic fortune of being paired up with Joakim.
Joakim is an exceptional and experienced guide and driver. Believe me when O tell you this is not am wasy jobs. The roads and trails are very hard to navigate. On our trip we saw a dozen vehicles with flat tires, bent frame, destroyed springs. Our driver knew the roads and trails . He knew when to speed up and when to keep it tight.
Joakim, in addition to being a terrific driver is also a really talented guide. He was able to track and get us experiences that we only could dream of. For example, we were fortunate enough to see the beginning of a cheetah stalking an Impala all the way through capturing it killing him for it’s too young cubs. We also saw a lion pride mourning the death of their young cub. This was all on the same day! We also enjoyed his company and great personality. I would recommend him and this ground team unequivocally. Very professional.

Unforgettable, with incredible energy and perfect organization
My trip through Ethiopia has been wonderful from start to finish. The destination exceeds any expectation, it is a fascinating and unique country in the world, but the best thing, above all, has been the harmony of the group and the human team; we were supercompenetrated at all times. I want to highlight especially the agency with which we traveled: the organization was impeccable and everything was coordinated in detail, which allowed us to enjoy with total peace of mind. Knowledgeable, genuine and welcoming people
We honestly didn’t know what to expect coming into this vacation but we are so grateful we chose a smaller, locally owned company. From the beginning, we communicated directly with Steve, the owner, while planning and booking our trip. He listened to everything we needed and accommodated every request we had, which gave us so much confidence before we even arrived.
When we finally arrived, Steve personally met us at the airport with our guide, Sammy, and we immediately felt welcomed. We were nervous about traveling with a family member who has both cognitive and physical disabilities, but the entire Ramja team was incredible with her. They were patient, kind, and genuinely welcoming, never making us feel that her needs were a burden. They made sure she was included and that our whole family felt comfortable. They were also very accommodating of a difficult dietary allergy in our group, always making sure her needs were taken seriously.
We expected the animals to be the highlight, but honestly the most incredible part of our trip was getting to know the people, culture, and country through our guides. Sammy deserves a very special shoutout. We spent the most time with him and really got to know him. He is an amazing man—kind, genuine, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. He taught us so much about Kenya, its people, history, and culture, and truly became part of our family along the way. Getting to know him was such a blessing. On our final day, we also got to spend time with George who also went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. He kindly accommodated last minute requests that make our trip even more memorable!
Every person we met through Ramja was knowledgeable, warm, and genuinely invested in our experience. Choosing a local company made this trip feel personal in a way we don't think we could have gotten elsewhere! It was beautiful to see and experience a country through really wonderful people. We honestly couldn’t be more grateful.

Worth every penny
Brian is an energetic and passionate young guide. On our first day, he asked if we’d like to take a boat ride on Lake Naivasha—a truly rare and unforgettable experience. Shortly after entering Lake Nakuru, we were lucky enough to spot both black rhinos and lions. To top it off, as we left our hotel on the second day, we even saw a mother white rhino with her calf!
In the Masai Mara, we had the incredible fortune of spotting leopards two days in a row, watching lions feeding and guarding their prey, and admiring majestic herds of elephants. We also thoroughly enjoyed the fascinating wildlife facts Brian shared whenever we encountered animals.
