It was very cool.

I had luck seeing some of the 5 Big very close. The scenery and weather is very similar with some regions in Brazil, i.e, savanna (cerrado) covers a large area of the Brazilian territory and our climate is subtropical in the south. The accommodations, food, transportation and guides were very good - Morokolo lodge is perfect. I suggest to everyone to be at least two days in this game reserve. Enjoy it.

Very serious tour operator, always on time, never bad surprises, exactly as described before buying.

We have been warmly welcome, our expectations have been heard. Then two precise programs have been proposed to us and we just had to choose. The prices are correct.
Then all was great : the safari in mikumi (we saw a lot of animals!), then the hiking in another National Park and the Waterfalls! The owner, the drivers, the guides were very nice and helpful and the organization perfect!
We warmly recommand Hello Tanzania and thank them a lot.

Manyoni game reserve not listed here. Was better than the more commercial phinda.

About: Ethiopia
A country like no other
Overall rating
4/5

I have been in Ethiopia as a touriste but also to see my family. This country is rich in wildlife but also in culture. You can go from north to the south and from east to west, the landscape is very diversified. The rift valley, the semen and bale mountains, and the green south of Ethiopia are worth seeing. You can find endemic wildlife in those areas and differents cultural activities "near" them. I remember my trip in 2008 in the bale park where I have done hiking on a horse in the middle of the wild animals. Concerning the weather, it depends on your trip, though you will have a hot summer or a rainy season not a cold winter. the nights can be a bit cold neverthless. For the accomadation part, you don't have to expect a very confortable stay on a budget, but there are a few tourist agency and hotels that are trying to make a better destination regarding transportation and hotelery. If you want to live an experience where you want to feel out of the place, Ethiopia is your destination.

Fantastic safari experience. Skip the cities.

The lodges were fantastic. Especially leopard mountain. Rhino sands and phinda Zuka. Wish we hadn’t wasted our time at the st Lucia lodge. If going back I would just do two lodges. Minimum 3 nights each. I’d choose leopard mountain and rhino sands over phinda.

Our travel agent did an amazing job. Justin at [email protected] picked us up and transported between Durban and lodges. Provided binoculars. Snacks on the trips. It was all last minute booking for us and his advice and recommendations were fantastic.

We then flew to cape town and drove the wine regions. Which are beautiful. Should not have wasted a night in cape town. Stay in stallenbosch instead. Helicopter tour a must over table mountain. Drive/Walk to cape point a must. Will go back but stay away from the cities.

We had spend 4 days with my family in Mikumi, it was a trip full of joy, laugh and quality time!
4/5

We had a driver, "Abe" who knew a lot about animals and who drive us safely every where we had been. He was humble enough to apologize when things went wrong. With my family and friends, we had spend great time in a beautiful place: Bastian camp.
I recommend this Safari.

That was the most stunning and wonderful trip we ever did. Susan from Tanzania Exclusive Journeys did an amazing job in planning our trip and shared a lot of good advice – it is always the details that matter. From our point of view, this trip was well planned and perfectly executed in every way. We felt a warm welcome in Arusha at the office and got easy and direct help with an airport luggage issue, so all got well.Especially to our guide&driver Sam, we owe a lot of thanks. He was the perfect guide for us. He easily won our hearts and we had a lot of fun on the trip. There are so many special moments on this Safari thanks to him. He took really good care of us and told us nearly everything there is to know about that wonderful wildlife. Our guide was a real treasure, always calm, accommodating where help is needed, well respected in the community, fully professional and blessed with the right kind of humor.Trip details: We visited Tarangire NP, Serengeti NP und Ngorongoro Crater NP on our five day safari. I would always suggest to book a private tour, it is absolutely worth it. Take your time to research some accommodations to get the right feeling for what you want and listen to the advice of Jane. And if possible, do it a little longer than five days. By the way, Tanzania Exclusive Journeys guide does all the necessary paperwork there is in crossing national parks - smooth and easy. You can really enjoy every minute. The Landcruiser was well equipped, had lots of space, a power charger and a small fridge. We will come back!

A hugely enjoyable, well organised experience.

The company communicated well with us, both before and during the excursion.

We were only surprised once; to learn of a last-minute change of one hotel; from the Crater Rim View to the Tanzanice Lodge. But we had no complaints there, because the Tanzanice is stunning! We would happily have stayed there all three nights if it was possible. Actually Tanzanice gave us two family rooms for the price of one, because no-one else was staying that night.

Our only gripe on the hotel front was the final one - the Twiga Lodge in Mto wa Mbu. (Don't confuse it with the one in Arusha!) This was more of a campsite with some rooms around; check-in was like a military camp and our "family room" was one tiny room with three equal-sized beds crammed into it. Barely room to move, but it was for one night, and the food was OK. But it was explained - you pays your money you takes your choice, we went for a low-end deal so they had to choose hotels which fit the budget. We got lucky with the Tanzanice.

The Green Mountain Hotel in Arusha (our first one) was fine - clean, friendly, and had a very impressive restaurant, where everything is cooked from scratch (even the bread) as you watch!

Our 3 day safari took in Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire National Park. And we thoroughly enjoyed each day - plenty of lions at Ngorongoro. We only missed out on cheetah, didn't see any of them. But that's not the fault of the safari guys!

Our Toyota Land Cruiser had seen much better days - bits falling off it en route and the horn sounding of its own accord occasionally - but we found that rather charming. And we enjoyed the company of our fine guide Julius. A really nice chap with his own interesting history.

I'd have no problem using this company again. Many thanks guys!
