Very quick response time and organisation was great.
Communication was fast, even taking the time difference into account. Organised a trip that was exactly what I had hoped for. There was a miscommunication with the driver collecting me but it was resolved well once notified of the issue.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with the service from Hyrax. We had a private safari, so the car was just for the two of us, and they accommodated us with the timing and arranged our transfer from the airport to our accommodation. In the end, there was no problem extending our safari by an extra day, along with a trip we came up with later. Our guide, Emmah, was a professional — always answered our follow-up questions and would, on their own initiative, point out what we were seeing, why we were seeing it, and how it fit into the safari. Overall, I'm very happy.

Our driver Cason from Sandton to the park was very nice and drives smoothly. The tour overall was not very satisfying as we expected to see more animals, but we only got to see a few in a 5 hours drive!!

Our guide was outstanding—professional, experienced, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about wildlife. Thanks to him, we saw the entire Big Five, as well as cheetahs with a cub, a leopard, elephants, giraffes, hippos, and many other amazing animals. He was patient, never rushed us, and always tried to give us the best possible wildlife sightings.
The itinerary was well organized, the accommodations were comfortable, and everything ran smoothly throughout the safari. We also appreciated the flexibility when adding a Lake Naivasha trip during our journey.

4 days solo budget trip to Maasai Mara and Lake Nakuru
What matters:
Good communication and flexibility to organizte the trip.
Aging, but working 4x4 pop-up roof land cruiser.
Good tented camp accommodation. Can't complain. What I really enjoyed is that the camp was right next to a Maasai village so we just walked over and the villagers improvised a little dancing/singing for 2 of us.
Philip, our driver was by far the best I had in Kenya/Tanzania. He actively found the animals and then he smartly positinoned the car taking into account even the sun so I was able to take the best pictures on this trip with him.

Exceptional
We did a 5 days, 4 nights Safari with Ndutu green explorers. It was an amazing experience. From the start Tom was very helpful in planning our trip and choosing an itinerary tailored to our needs. He was very attentive, patient and helpful. Our guide Mack was good. Food and accommodation exceeded our expectations. I would recommend Tom and Ndutu green explorers to anyone planning a safari in the future.

awesome pre-season 3 days in Serengeti/Ngorongoro
I took a 3 days private budget trip to Serengeti and Ngorongoro with this team in the pre-season in mid-June.
What matters:
Organizing the trip: Responsive communication, flexible with special requests.
The car: a newer 4x4 pop-up roof land cruiser in 2x2x3 seat configuration. (This configuration allows walking between the seats so it is easier to take photos.)
The camps: The tented accommocations were well beyond my expectations, by far the best of the 3 safaris I had. (the other 2 were in Kenya)
