Reliable, kind, knowledgeable and extremely professional
5/5

This is my second time traveling with Yhun from Liyu agency. After booking an extremely successful trip to the north of Ethiopia, this time we toured Addis. Yhun knows all the less-visited spots, and can accommodate a visit in both rain and sunshine. He is very pleasant, extremely reliable and I wholeheartedly recommend him. But I won't tell you all the sector places he took me- you have to come and find out for yourselves....

A seamless, once-in-a-lifetime safari experience with Lion King
5/5

We communicated with Jovitha during the quote and Naurey handled all the organization, and from start to finish everything was seamless and easy. Our guide, Salehe Mkwanda, was fantastic—knowledgeable, fun, and full of stories that went beyond the usual animal facts. The team was extremely flexible, accommodating our requests to add an extra day or change accommodations, and they also arranged smooth airport transfers. Even though we did everything by email, it all felt effortless.

Over 8 days, we visited Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara, and every day was packed with unforgettable wildlife encounters. We saw the Big Five, baby cheetahs with their mama, lions almost every day, and even got very close to the river crossing. Staying at the different camps added to the adventure: at one tented camp we could hear hippos grunting at night, watched dik-diks chasing each other by our tent, and saw monkeys filling the trees.

The scenery, wildlife, and atmosphere at each stop were simply spectacular, from sunrises and sunsets right at the camps to the wide-open plains of the Serengeti. A safari like this isn’t cheap, but with Lion King, we felt we got excellent value for money. The organization, the guides, and the unforgettable experiences made every penny worth it. From start to finish, it was all about relaxing, enjoying the adventure, and making memories—truly a once-in-a-lifetime safari.

Unforgettable 3-Day Ruaha National Park Safari experiance
5/5

The safari drives were truly spectacular — we had the privilege of witnessing an abundant array of wildlife, including majestic elephants, graceful giraffes, and elusive predators like lions and leopards. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and eager to share their insights about the park’s ecosystem, making every moment both exciting and educational. I highly recommend Widman Tours & Safari to anyone seeking an authentic and immersive safari adventure in Tanzania. This 3-day experience at Ruaha National Park exceeded all my expectations and left me with unforgettable memories. I can’t wait to return!

Highly Recommended Company
5/5

My wife and I had the best possible safari with Olbeast Vacations. Their attention and services have been way over our expectations. They truly made sure we had a wonderful honeymoon safari, and they succeded in it! Lucy has always been available for anything from the moment of the booking to after the end of our trip. We recommend Olbeast Vacations 100% as we already did with our friends ans family.

Paul has been a great guide during our trip and genuinely contributed to making our safari so rich and interesting. He drives incredibly well, which is fundamental for this kind of experience. He also has a lot of knowledge of animals and plants, the area in general, and the culture of who inhabits it. I could not recommend more his services!

Professional
5/5

Me and my husband enjoyed safari very much. Everything was perfect. Maybe only our car were overcrowded (8+driver), but fortenately we were good team. Special thanks to our driver Leonard, who was really excellent. Hotels and food were very nice and good. Comparing price with the others in our car, we got much better hotels and the same safary experience for almost double price. All in all excellent expirience.

Mixed Experience - Communication Needs Serious Improvement
3/5

We booked a mid-range safari with Hekima Safaris after reading many positive reviews, and while there were some great aspects to our experience, we were also disappointed in several areas.

We made our booking early in February for a September safari, specifically because of the positive feedback about Hekima going above and beyond for their customers. However, communication from the company was lacking throughout the process.

Two days before our arrival in Kenya, I messaged Hekima to confirm our airport pickup and overall itinerary, but received no response. As we were flying all the way from Australia, this caused significant anxiety — especially given the common warnings about scams. Even during our layover in Mumbai, I messaged again, only to see the message was read with no reply. Out of concern, I contacted the hotel we were due to stay at in Nairobi to confirm our reservation. While they did have a booking under our name, Hekima had not yet paid, so the hotel staff said it wasn’t guaranteed.

Eventually, after we landed in Nairobi around 5:40 AM, Hekima responded and provided a contact for our pickup.

We also learned at breakfast that Hekima had sent an external guide to pick us up, as the staff members were away on another safari. This gave us the impression that our safari may have been overlooked or forgotten, despite our early booking.

Communication after our deposit was made became noticeably slower, whereas responses before payment were immediate. This shift in engagement was disappointing.

However, we were especially disappointed with the guide in the Serengeti. He did not make an effort to connect with us, and we felt like the "going above and beyond" service we read about in reviews was not true in our case. The guide seemed disinterested and did not engage with us or go the extra mile to enhance our experience. He did mention he hadn't slept but there was plenty of time to sleep and rest after coming back from game drives in the evening.
At times, we felt uncomfortable asking for a few extra moments to enjoy the sunrise or take in the animals, as if we were inconveniencing him.

There were also issues with accommodation changes not being communicated in advance. One of the lodges we were taken to was not the one we had booked, and it did not meet mid-range standards – dirty showers and poor food. On another day, the same thing happened again, but thankfully, the alternate lodge was significantly better.

That said, there were definitely many positives too — don’t get me wrong. The guides made sure we saw all the animals we wanted to see, including the Big Five. The lodges (with the exception of one uncommunicated change) were fantastic, with great food and comfortable amenities.

On the day we were flying out, we were told by the airline that our flight was actually departing from a different airport. Jackson and Benard rushed back immediately, picked us up, and drove as fast as they could to the correct airport. This really helped us, and we can’t thank them enough for saving the day.

Overall, the safari had its highlights — and we especially want to give a big shoutout to Jackson for his support and professionalism. But unfortunately, due to poor communication, last-minute changes, and a lack of attentiveness at times, we can’t give Hekima the 5-star rating we had really hoped to.

There is definite potential here — but improvements in communication and customer care are needed.

We had a great time!
4/5

I thought our trip was good value for money and I particularly appreciated the quick response time from the tour operator. The food and accommodation was good and comfortable (important given I was travelling with my 70 year old mother). I would highly recommend. A few small things - on the first say our itinerary was changed and we weren't given any notice so there was some confusion among the group. No binoculars were provided even though it stated on the itinerary that they would be. Some hotels charged for bottled water even though the itinerary said that water and soft drinks would be free. But overall these are small things. We had a lovely adventure.
